We shot this video a while back and Bob asked me to wait to post it until it was ready to be released

First one sounds kind of like Byrds with Mike Campbell and some Beatles, really fits the song well. The 2nd one sounds like an Americanized version of the Beatles with some Little Tommy magic added in! Really enjoyed these fellas!

of the 700 albums Tom has done I was involved with exactly 4 of them and he often calls on his huge library of songs to take a bit from here or there to start with. One song I remember him saying let's start with Man Eater meets Cheap Trick. hilarious.

Regardless of the evoking of a period of the Byrds that is one of my very favourites in popular music, the slower tempo and relaxed groove immediately revealed the lyric too. Well done team.

First time I have heard Bob’s music, so I jumped over to his Spotify channel and had a listen to his three albums. Some of the songs are actually quite good. Among those is the title song of his latest album, Friends Of The Bay - which was written by … YOU! Congratulations! His previous albums do not list credits. 🥲 Are there any other songs on those two that you have written? I am on the Canadian side of Lake Erie, and in my younger days spent many a summer weekend on my boat tied up in Put In Bay for non-stop partying and general debauchery. 🙄😵💫😵💫 There are a lot of good memories there! Anyway, your song just became one of my favorites. Nice writing!! 🥰👍

…this was great for me to watch personally…when I play with other songwriting friends, sometimes, I just cannot get past the demo. If I don’t like the song up front, I have less motivation to work on it.

The second demo track sounded a bit like the beginning of Croce’s You Don’t Mess Around w/ Jim.
If people didn't "evoke the vibe" of other songs, I guess we wouldn't have new songs. Maybe the great classical authors would have been in trouble too. It's great that people use references, specially when they have a vast vocabulary and mix unexpected ideas.
a bit of a tempo change on song 2 is amazing what a difference (the whole band helps also but you had a demo so that's to be expected)
Hi Steve, thank you! I wrote it that was. Tom loves when you have a change in tempo or key or something so that it doesn't just go on and on.
I hear the Byrds vibe, Tom Petty vibe, ELO is solo, it's not copying, it's paying homage.
During the drums I wanted to sing "radios playing some forgotten song"
lol! Shawn Fichter is the drummer and he is amazing to watch. Joe Vitale was also featured on the album. Having the right drummer is key (and the right producer of course)
