Met Tyler at a small show in Freiburg, Germany. Must have been in 2017. Talked to him about music and touring in general. He’s one of the nicest guys I ever met in music business.
He said: you will get your chance to break through and living from music.
Few years later, I’m playing festivals and bigger club shows.
Thanks Tyler for your kind and supportive words. Meant a lot to me. :)

Was it 2016? I saw them in Vienna Austria when they opened for AC/DC in 2016. The same year when Axl Rose had to sit in for Brian Johnson.

Life can be so strange, but serendipity in discovering this video and learning about Tyler and how good the '64 Fender Deluxe Reverb handwired amp sounds made my day. The signature Pinky guitar is sold out at Sweetwater, but it's still available at two dealers in the U.S.

Wish I could own a Deluxe Reverb like that. But with kids and just getting my feet wetter with guitar, only 3yrs in, all I can manage is the Blonde Deluxe Reverb Tone Master. Still sounds really good and easier on my injuries, but that one is killer. It better be for what you paid for it

Man! I absolutely love this and could easily be my favorite video of yours. Known of Tyler since I was 15 years old, because of Robert Knight's movie "Rock Prophecies". I watched that and was floored, and Robert ended up coming to Indianapolis and shooting Sadie Johnson and I for the "Brotherhood Of The Guitar" group, which was inspired by Tyler looking for young blues/blues-rock guitar players. Freaking amazing! God bless brother, and great job on this!

Colt great video and interview man!!!! Tyler and the Shakedown is a great band! I feel for him with the stoking guitar. I bought a guitar that was stolen from a reputable store who didn’t know it was stolen because the guitar had traveled different states. I didn’t know it was stolen when I bought it But when I got wind of it worked to make sure the guitarist got his guitar back. The look on his face when he did was all worth it man! Made my musical journey even more worth it!!! That’s a horrible feeling to have your gear stolen. As a musician I couldn’t imagine. Whoever the shop owner was that recognized Tyler Bryant guitar is a fantastic person. We need more people like that in the world 🌎 but also I like what Tyler said: “we showed up on time, we flew comfortably under the radar and we said thank you” Pay attention to that because those 3 things are most important things to do! Tyler is such a great guy!

As a rock/jazz/blues guitarist of nearly 60 years (I'm 71), I'm still hep to young talent. Tyler and the Shakedown are BAD ASS and I love them. The fact that he and Rebecca Lovell of Larkin Poe married in 2019 shows you the guy also knows a good woman, a very MUSICAL woman, when he sees it. Great choice for your video. BTW, my mom bought me a brand-new 1966 Deluxe Reverb back in the day. It wasn't loud enough so it got traded for a used bandmaster. Made sense at the time but I sure wish I had that amp back now. 🙂🙃🙂

Had one. Couldn't get rid of it fast enough. I really wanted to love it but there was a harshness that I couldn't shake. Tried many speakers, tubes, etc. My amp tech said it was because of the mod to the circuit that allowed reverb on both channels. At the time I also had a '67, a 65 Reissue and a Tonemaster, so I had a chance to compare them all. I spent about 3 months comparing them before I sold the rest and kept the vintage one. This came in 3rd, just ahead of the Tonemaster. The vintage 67 of course came in first, with the Reissue in second place.

Felt the same way about this when I first heard about it. The Deluxe Reverb is my favorite amp. I've had more than a bunch of them. From vintage blackfaces to Silverfaces to Reissues to tonemasters to boutique clones and so on. I bought one of these hoping it would end my search for the ultimate DR - a brand new one hand-wired like the old ones and so hopefully more reliable (not that the vintage ones are not reliable if you have a great tech).
I couldn't get rid of this thing fast enough. I actually took a haircut on it because I hated it so much.
Why, might you ask? It had a harshness to the tone that I couldn't shake. I tried half a dozen different speakers. I tried rolling tubes. I tried everything but I just could not get the harshness out. I took it to my tech. He said that the circuit change to add the reverb to the second channel was the problem. He offered to return the circuit to the original vintage spec, but for what I paid, it just wasn't worth it so I let it go.
At the time I had this, I also had a 67blackface, a reissue, and a Tonemaster. I wanted to hear them all in my bedroom to decide once and for all who was the daddy. No prizes for guessing. I made a comparison video of all four which you can find here on YT if you search for Deluxe Reverb Shootout. I kept the vintage amp and sold the rest. The Reissue came in second. I love that amp but it can be difficult to fix if it breaks. Reissues are much heavier and louder than the others. Go figure.
64 Custom and Tonemaster were cr*p. Audience will never know the difference or care, though. Unless you're playing a small venue like a coffee shop or something where they can really hear the amp, and you're playing a really nice guitar clean. With overdrive and a loud band, no one will know. My $.02.
