An Inspector earns between £50,000 and £60,000, depending on his status and which area he is working in and a Sergeant earns around £45,000. Can we really afford to keep paying out this kind of money to just stand around and harass a member of the public who has not committed any crime for 45 minutes or so? I want a tax refund!!! His job is to "Uphold the law. Prevent a Breach of Peace and bring transgressors to Justice (Arrest, charge & submit evidence for the prosecution) Please note, an arrest does not have to take place in order to charge and prosecute alleged offenders. Arrest is down to discretion and should only be used as a last resort (presumption of liberty). Unfortunately Police tend to use it as a coercive device or use it out of petty malicious vindictiveness because "you weren't being nice to me".

You should call an ambulance... the inspector is displaying strong signs of anxiety and raised blood pressure with the heart pumping strongly .. an ECG at the time would likely have shown some irregularities. Why is he so wound up? He looks so childish, constantly walking about and being so clearly anxious. He knows he screwed up!

An intelligent man who has reached the rank of Inspector should be able to deal better with that situation. He really was pathetic. *I bet even the Sergeant was embarrassed for him with his constant pacing up and down ... and my money's on the Sergeant losing a degree of respect for this "Inspector".*

That Inspector reminds me of a tubby kid at school, that was always bullied. He always weathered the abuse, but you could see the pain in his eyes, the dry mouth and the clenched fists. I always wondered what happened to these unpopular people...until now!
