Can another Vendor own the rights to the Wedding Photographers Photos?

We had a listener submission that we had to talk about. There is a new wave of vendors that are attempting to obtain the (Commercial) rights to a Wedding Photographers images, by going around the photographer and obtaining them from the client (the couple). We reached out to @thelegalpaige to get the scoop if this is legal or not.
