Brooklyn Apres! It was love at first sniff. Gives me hamster bedding vibes on a cold winter day but in the best way possible- I am completely aware that sounds so unappealing but it is so cozy and rugged. Love.
I am thinking you might love Jo Loves Ebony & Cassis, it’s slightly in the same realm as Ebony Wood and of course same perfumer. So dark and bewitching.
Love this content 🧡 I would also add several of Serge Lutens perfumes (Fille en aiguilles, Ambre sultan and more), Keiko Mecheri Precious forest and Lunea. I havent smelled these brands but their name and flacoons sounds like lovely potions: Zoologist and Imaginary authors. And in the designers I would add Versace Crystal noir and Tom Ford black orchid, I guess.

I finally tried Vicious Cacao, loved it, and thought it reminded me of something but couldn't figure out what. Finally it hit me, it reminds me of Iris Malikhan! Not sure how, the notes aren't similar at all, but it feels like a similar DNA somehow.

I just got my sample of vanille antique today and I cannot stop smelling it so I am really excited for the cooler weather. Also had a deluxe sized sample of gris charnel extrait for a long time and between the two of them I am saying bring on the cold and the rainy days and I think its going to be such a vibe! I think the only problem is if I fall in love with them because both of pricey but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it haha.

Hi, Great tutorial...I was wondering if you have smelt Perles de Lalique... It reminds me of a real gothic style perfume... It is extremely inexpensive and for a more affordable perfume it is extremely unusual and definitely not like a main stream designer... I love it for special occasions
as soon as she mentioned iris malikhan, which i have, i knew she's right about other scents too because she nailed iris malikhan TO A TEE. that's exactly the vibe that fragrance gives off. highly educated with rich parents, probably a bit arrogant even (think slytherin if you're into harry potter), enjoys difficult books, a bit outdoorsy vibe,... like, all of that! 👌

It’s not for me personally, but that’s because I don’t usually care for citrus/tea fragrances, if you do, you may enjoy it. I adore Bianco Latte, I don’t think it smells like a candle, if you’re interested in it I recommend getting a sample!

Demi I didn’t think I was a Rose perfume Lover but apparently I am 😂 I have most of these fragrances you mentioned except Manakara and Lalibela. Just know that Peregrina is absolutely my favorite perfume in my collection.
Yea I was trying to grasp the "academia" association of these. The one I'm familiar with is Byredo Vanille Antique because I test wore it recently. My Fragrantica review of Vanille Antique said Vanille Antique is a fairly nice, but ultimately undistinguished, Amber Woody scent that performs rather poorly and cost way too much at retail. I could leave it at that. I wanted it to live up to the promise of the "Antique" in its name, but it did so only modestly. I was expecting at least a bit more "antique" character in its scent profile to distinguish it from the Amber Woody crowd. Maybe some sort of unique musty, woody accord that shouts "antique!" in its olfactory association. But although nice, it really didn't nail that association. I need more. Yes, it has the plum note and I'm a big, big fan of plum, dried fruit, and date notes. But the plum contribution is subdued. But I guess there is a bit of an "antique" vibe and an association could be made to an Ivy League library or any old "hallowed halls" associated with one of those venerable old institutions. I wonder about Byredo Bibliotheque in this "Dark Academia" association. I have a decant of it coming. Also, my Scent of the Day today is Montale Greyland. It's a very dry, austere, woody scent. A friend of mine associates it with a haunted house. That's dark. And I get the smell of a pencil shoved up my nose. Haunted house + pencil = "Dark Academia" 😂.

Yea I was trying to grasp the "academia" association of these. The one I'm familiar with is Byredo Vanille Antique because I test wore it recently. My Fragrantica review of Vanille Antique said Vanille Antique is a fairly nice, but ultimately undistinguished, Amber Woody scent that performs rather poorly and cost way too much at retail. I could leave it at that. I wanted it to live up to the promise of the "Antique" in its name, but it did so only modestly. I was expecting at least a bit more "antique" character in its scent profile to distinguish it from the Amber Woody crowd. Maybe some sort of unique musty, woody accord that shouts "antique!" in its olfactory association. But although nice, it really didn't nail that association. I need more. Yes, it has the plum note and I'm a big, big fan of plum, dried fruit, and date notes. But the plum contribution is subdued. But I guess there is a bit of an "antique" vibe and an association could be made to an Ivy League library or any old "hallowed halls" associated with one of those venerable old institutions.
I wonder about Byredo Bibliotheque in this "Dark Academia" association. I have a decant of it coming.
Also, my Scent of the Day today is Montale Greyland. It's a very dry, austere, woody scent. A friend of mine associates it with a haunted house. That's dark. And I get the smell of a pencil shoved up my nose. Haunted house + pencil = "Dark Academia" 😂.
Iris Malikhan need to try for sure. it's not for most people, I hated it. U have to be "pro" level in parfume world to "appreciate" it 🤷🏻♀️
BTSO were disappointingly short lived, I sprayed and in the 5 seconds it took me to walk out of the bathroom, the scents ghosted me.
