I love and own Eau Duelle EdP, Fleur de Peau, Philosykos, Eau Papier, and Kyoto. Diptyque to me has a very retro natural smelling appeal. I also find that they meet their creative goal and story concept for the fragrances they create very well. There also is zero generic designer vibe about them and I appreciate that. All of their fragrances I own perform very decently too, in moderate European weather just as well as in the tropical weather I stay in. And finally, of course I love their aesthetic and their shopping experience (if you get to visit one of their boutiques). One of my favourite houses, easily.
@@dmac6704its really not easy to explain. Its not a smell thats comparable to other things. Its not crazy complex, but its very different and unique. Its ice cold powdery and floral, but warm at the same time. Its not fresh but its not heavy. Its dense but its not buttery. Its fizzy but not citrusy. Its clean but not sharp. Definitely smell this one before you get it! A few times, even. I had to smell it like 9 times on different days to get a hang of it. Its very long lasting but idk if the projection is great If you’ve ever smelled fleur de peau, think of that but no musk and no sweetness. Fleur de peau smells slightly candied while orpheon smells more ‘boozy’ (but not in a dirty way). Slightly more masculine than fleur de peau but extremely unisex
I love Philosykos so much, but the lasting power is awful on me. It lasts no longer than two hours, even if I overspray. I blew through my bottle in no time. Unfortunately, for that reason I will not repurchase, but my god, what a wonderful scent! How is the longevity on you?
@@marielle7505 I love it too! I just did a full day wear test with really good body care to ensure it lasts as long as possible, with no reapplication. I put it on at 8, and I’d say it was really potent until about 2pm. I found the scent especially faded when I went out to walk outside and grab lunch, aka very normal human functions a perfume should last through haha. It’s now 4pm and I can only very very very faintly smell it where I applied it on my shirt, but it’s virtually gone from my skin :( It lasted longer than I anticipated, but it’s definitely a perfume you finish very quickly as you mentioned!
I love leau papier. I do get the ink on fresh printed paper in the opening and that smell is my favorite!! It's that good book smell. Then as it dries I get the mimosa note and that clean musk. So good
Interesting fact about Cassis. Thank you. Would love if you did an educational/fun fact video on perfumes/houses/the industry/etc. You are also so gorgeous and I appreciate your honesty.
I love orpheon! smells like a crystal shop to me, not in an incense way but in a herbal way, smells a bit like sherbet after a while on my skin. just absolutely gorgeous
Eau Rose EDP (my favorite) is the one with the artichoke note. You tested the EDT. Thanks for the video! I need to pick up L’eau Papier. I’ve been hedging for too long.
I adore Diptyque. They have so many good offerings and I love that they release new scents extremely selectively. There is nothing synthetic about their scents. Each and every one of them feels as if they've been concocted from a magical, lush garden. I adore L'Eau Papier but sadly I prefer it sprayed on clothes or paper rather than skin. So I've opted for Eau Duelle as my go-to fragrance for now. It's such an aromatic, warm, herbal vanilla. Not sweet or gourmand at all. It creates this embracing, lovely aura around you.
I randomly sprayed fleur de peau on my arm yesterday and the way it developed is beautiful. It’s pretty much what I’ve been looking for. I can still smell it the next morning; it’s rare that I find something that works so well on my skin, though I know some people don’t find it as long lasting. Seriously considering it, but I’m going back today to smell some more diptyque!
When I first checked out this brand at a counter I thought I was a Fleur de Peau person through and through. However, I got to try Orpheon and now own Eau Capitale and these are now the real standouts for me and my taste.
I would love a video on your favorite tea scents! I’ve sniffed a lot of the often recommended ones but am still on the hunt for the perfect fresh tea fragrance.
Dossier has a tea fragrance called Black Tea Renew or something like that and it’s really tea like. Check it out and let me know what you think. If you hate it, you can return it.
L’eau Papier is my forever fragrance. I absolutely love it and will keep purchasing until the end of days. Would love to see an eau de parfum version of L’eau Papier. Orpheon is perfect for fall and winter. It reminds me of my favorite sweater.
@ on my skin, it lasts about 4 hours but on my clothes, it’s closer to 8. It doesn’t have much projection after the first couple of hours but people can smell it if they’re next to me.
I've heard that the Eau Rose EDT and EDP smell different, with the latter smelling more luscious and complex than the former. I own the EDP, and I LOVE IT. I was meeting a friend once and I put some on me, and she's really into perfume. She caught a whiff and immediately said 'you smell so green!' 🌹
I think the notes of Eau Rose EDT and EDP are different. I’ve tested both and the EDT is lighter and more of a fresh young rose and doesn’t have the artichoke note whereas the EDP is stronger and more vegetal (like you are in a garden that has both roses and vegetables growing side by side). Both are lovely but very different!
Thank you, because you're the only other person I know that can detect celery in some perfumes! I smell it a lot, especially in vanilla perfumes, which drives me crazy. It's so annoying. It's almost like vegetable soup. The dry down is better though in many cases. ☹
My favorite is eau duelle but orpheon is a close second. I think that you should try it because there’s a strong juniper note in it! It’s very powdery and unique so it could be polarizing.
I was in the diptyque store and was smelling fleur de peau and honestly it smells exactly like Glossier You and I mentioned it to the sales person and she looked at me like a sommelier would look like if I compared a bottle of vintage wine to Barefoot 😂😂😂
I own Leau Papier l, Fleur de Peau and Eau des sens. I recently repurchased Orphéon after giving it away a couple of months ago. I missed the minty smell. Helps unclog my nose when I have a flu 😅
Thank you mentioning OYEDO… I bought a random blind buy of Eau de Minthe because I was thinking to buy Orpheon or Tam dao edp both was out of stock. Eau de Minthe is nice and different unlike to popular reviews.
Girl, I got my nose on L’Eau Papier today and wow, I LOVE it. This is super specific but for me it’s very reminiscent of when I wear my favorite Carolina Herrera Very Good Girl Glam and then I shower - I can still smell it on me but it’s completely different. it just smells super clean, musky and a little sweet. I never really knew how to describe it before but this is sooo similar! I want to bath in it 😂
My fave Diptyque is Fleur de Peau. As you said, it's a gorgeous iris, YSBB scent. Rounding out the top 3 are L'Eau Papier and Eau Duelle. I appreciate the artistry of their scents but don't vibe with the majority from this house. Feel like they're too grownup and maybe there's a disconnect because I'm not French? Haha. Bon voyage, so excited to see your "Emma in Paris" vlog!
Fleur de Peau is a beast on me. Projects like crazy for 6 hours. The middle notes on it has the powdery sweetness that’s almost subtly bubblegum-y to me
Okay, so theres this AMAZING perfume store in paris called Officine Universelle Buly. they have a bunch of really interesting perfumes such as tomato, potato (my personal favorites from them are the cedar and amber perfumes)
I absolutely love fleur de Peau! I also love L’Eau Papier buttt I don’t feel like it’s full bottle worthy for me bc the longevity just isn’t there on my skin chemistry, but that could change so who knows! But Fleur de Peau lasts allll day on my skin! Wonderful video!
I love Fleur De Peau! It actually lasts on me for 8+ hours most days, but I find that perfumes with iris last really long on me. It’s exactly what I wanted Glossier You to smell like!
I looove diptyque! My favourites Are fleur de peau, Eau duelle (i have the edt version) and l’eau papier. I also have orpheon, but that one needs to grow on me. I would love to see the Paris vlog! And hopefully you Are visiting vilhelm perfumeries?🥰😬 i would die for your opinions on that perfume house!
Fleur de peau gets me the most compliments ever, the longevity “for me” 8-16 hours max , the projection is amazing good projection arm lengs first 2 hours and then will be skin scent ( the person next to you will smell it ) , i work in the hospital as RN , i get compliment from one patient he was obsessed he was saying dude what is you are wearing!!! What is that i love it , he was angry idk why 😅😂, and then he said because when i go out of the room i can smell you in the ward that you pass by from here !! I was really really happy because i love this perfume so much, my first bottle almost done the dent is insane with this one … Anyway i just want to tell you and everyone my story with this lovely fragrance… and forgive me for my English its not my first language Have a great day ❤
I know im Kinda late Here, but there is one small perfumery called l’eau cassis in Paris and they have the best rooibos scent i have ever smelled. I think it is called edition limitee. Absolutne banger. Also eau duelle edp slaps! Lovely video
i think you would love the drydown of philosykos EDP as it features a coconut note that gives it sweetness and warmth - personally it turned me off because i wanted it purely green. guess i will give the EDT a shot! ❤
Hello, I just started seeing youtube fragrance videos and I really like trying to find brands that actually use natural ingredients, I think it feels a little more luxurious but also elegant, loving your content and would love if you could ever do a video about that, brand or perfumes that are mostly made with natural ingredients.
I just got back from Paris and at Galleries Lafayette, I ended up buying Eau Lente. It is incredible! Cinnamon, which ends up reading as a spicy carnation on me. Insanely long lasting and elegant.
I don't know why I don't see more people talk about Eau Capitale. Well, maybe I do get it, it's a really bold chypre, so definitely not to everyone's taste, but I do see chypres trending more and more lately. Eau Capitale, Eau Rose, and L'Ombre Dans L'eau are my first loves from the house. Other noteworthy ones for me are Eau Rihla (spicy cozy oud), Volutes (literally the most sophisticated glamorous scent, like 40's noir femme fatale movie star vibes), and Eau de Lierre (smoky, literal woods as in wild forest, super mysterious and fascinating). Those are fabulous and unlike anything I've ever smelled, but they're a bit bold and specific to be full bottle worthy for me.
This video just proves how subjective scent is. I was given L’eau de Papier and I didn’t get anything soft from it. I found it so strong and almost like a cologne. Could smell it on myself all day and not in a good way. If it had smelled on me like you described Ib think I would have enjoyed it. For me my favorites are Tam Dao and Philoksokos etc. Interesting
My favourite so far is l'Eau Papier, i have a big fat crush on this fragrance but the price is painful... Also the longevity of l'Eau Papier is just two-three hours on my skin, so, that too is a little bit painful for the price.... If I buy it one day, I think I'd prefer to wear it in the beginning of fall, it reminds me some memories of reading books,i'like it on a cosy scarf while wandering in the woods, smells a bit nostalgic,... I love fragrance that tell me a story ,or when I can see a clear picture of the idea behind,so fascinating to imagine a perfumer choosing the right notes to paint this particular atmosphere....
I just got the soap from Eau des Sens and solid perfume from Eau Capitale as 'testers'... The smell is UNBELIEVABLE. Soo good. My whole suitcase smelled like heaven so I'm def getting the Eau Capitale edp, it's a masterpiece rose/patchouli scent composed by a perfumer who masters patchouli very well. Eau des Sens is gorgeous too though.
I have a question, have you done the scent chance by Chanel? I own it and I would really like to know what you think about it and what it smells like to you!❤
Eau Duelle (EDP) was my first niche perfume 14 years ago. I will test that L'Paper again after your discussion. I have their Essence 2016 limited edition in the black gem bottle. Love the scent, but hate that bulb atomizer. Diptyque has amazing body products as well. Have fun in Paris.
have you ever had the chance to smell their leau trois edt? its my favorite 😏. My initial reaction to eau des sens was the same as yours. But like a week ago I arbitrarily started layering it with a dark leather vetiver scent, and like my opinion 180'd.
Have you tried Tam Dao? One of the founders of Dyptique says it is reminiscent of his chilhood in Indochina. Anyway, it is a very interesting sandalwood scent.
okay so i was just at the diptyque store in berlin and i smelled everything they had. most of their perfumes i either did not like or they just didn’t stick out to me (these are all of their most popular scents for a reason LOL). i already had blind bought philosykos a few months ago was was obsessed with it, im actually wearing it now because i love to wear it after a bath. i even have their philosykos soap. BUT in the store i finally smelled l’ombre dans l’eau and was totally in love with it. i really love green smelling perfumes. i have samples of almost all the ones in this video as well as orpheon and they’re definitely good, but like i said they just don’t stick out to me (i probably just need to revisit them). but philosykos and l’ombre dans l’eau are some of my favorites ever! i actually remember on a livestream a few months ago i asked your opinion on philosykos and you said you didn’t like it so im glad you revisited it! i was so excited to see this video on my feed, i’ve been hoping you’d do one for so long. you’re by far my favorite perfume channel 🫶🏻
So excited about this video! I recently smelled ilio and want to get it so bad since I'm getting married next July! Considering buying it a the start of next summer before my wedding to have as my wedding scent. But there are so many scents I want to smell from them especially leau papier
I absolutely love Do Son. I really love the indolic tuberose but it has to have some oomph to it, and this is perfection! Definitely not for everyone but I just can't feel unsexy wearing this fragrance. Lol Eau Papier is really lovely but too mellow for me. I wish there was an extra it version! Eau Duelle is vanilla perfection for me. I love vanilla but not super into gourmands. I have th Zara dupe, too. So good! My other favorite is Tempo, which is nothing at all like what I usually gravitate to, but I love it so much. Very aromatic and patchouli forward, but it's not dirty patchouli. Worth smelling for sure!
I tried Philosykos and I really do have the same problem with you. As it dries down on my skin it tends to make me smell sour. Which is crazy 😂😂😂. A double edge sword like it’s so good at the early parts and then when it reaches to the end the fig has rotten to the core . Literally crying when my workmate says I smell like a sourpatch
The Philosykos effect, I hate it at first too since they smell soooooo green. However the sneaky SA gave me a sample and I grew to love it. Now it is in fav scent. Shame that it doesn't last long on skin though.
I love l’ombre. LOVE a green scent l’eau rose was my signature when I was younger but since it went off a little bit it put me off so much when I smelled it and realised that I’m not sure if I’ll repurchase. I’ve been on the hunt for a different green rose scent but haven’t found one I like yet. Any recs?
I have Eau Duelle EDT and I love it. It get very close to the skin but never completely dissipated it always catches my nose in small whips throughout the wear. I have Fleur De Peau EDP and Philosykos EDT on the way. They gave me samples of Eau Rose EDT amd Do Son EDT and I love both of those as well.
would be interested to hear what you think of Etat Libre d'Orange perfumes if you have time to visit the Paris store... have been wanting to try fils de dieu for a long time
To me the hype is mostly about packaging. I enjoy most of them but there is no real love there, apart from eau duelle probably but…I don‘t know😅 nice review anyway❤️

l'ombre dans l'eau is my signature scent. It is green like a tomato vine at first but then it dries down clean like soap on me.
I was just looking into this house for the first time. I'm glad I ran across your video.
Thank you! There’s a couple Diptyque stores in my area and I always feel lost when I go in there, watching this for insight lol
PhiloSykos edt is my summer scent
It’s so summery and green!
I have a question, have you done the scent chance by Chanel? I own it and I would really like to know what you think about it and what it smells like to you!❤
Girl, I would love to hear your thoughts about Eau Capitale! I was dying to hear your opinion!
Oyedo is my all time favorite
Emma I NEED you to smell Kenzo Amour - it has rice, tea and musk notes that I think you would LOVE
So excited about this video! I recently smelled ilio and want to get it so bad since I'm getting married next July! Considering buying it a the start of next summer before my wedding to have as my wedding scent. But there are so many scents I want to smell from them especially leau papier
Yes, Diptyque is definitely in the Top 10 best perfume houses on the market and in my personal Top 3.
Would love to see a video on maison margiela replica!!!
I absolutely love Do Son. I really love the indolic tuberose but it has to have some oomph to it, and this is perfection!
Definitely not for everyone but I just can't feel unsexy wearing this fragrance. Lol
Eau Papier is really lovely but too mellow for me.
What’s the name of Zara’s supe for Eau Duelle, please?
@@jmaindigo6641It's Bohemian Oud! I buy it on Mercari since it's discontinued now. I always find it!
Do Son Eau de Parfum is one of my all time favorite fragrances, best representation of a tuberose fragrance.
Your celebrity parents would totally be Billy Crudup and Jennifer Jason Leigh. So blessed!
What a kind comment, thank you!❤
I love l’ombre. LOVE a green scent l’eau rose was my signature when I was younger but since it went off a little bit it put me off so much when I smelled it and realised that I’m not sure if I’ll repurchase. I’ve been on the hunt for a different green rose scent but haven’t found one I like yet. Any recs?
How do you feel about Geranium Odorata from Diptique?
Orpheon is Phoebe Bridger's signature scent. It's way more cool than Fleur de Peau ;) Have you tried it?
Tempo edp is my favorite ❤️
Followed! Also have you smelled Orpheon by Diptyque? Personally I love it, but I don’t see many talk about it
What does it smell like to you? I’m female wondering if it’s very Masculine like Tam Dao
@@dmac6704To me it's more on the feminine side.
Sounds like Eau des Sens could be for me. I will try to get a decant on Parfumo!
Btw I love your french pronounciation!
The rose fragrance isn’t the one with the artichoke. That was the one right before the fig tree.
Eau Rose does have an artichoke note! It doesn’t show this on fragrantica but you can see it on the Diptyque website!
I bought Orpheon about 6 months ago but I notice the scent is fading. 😢
Eau Rose edt doesn't have the note of artichoke. My favs from eau rose edt and eau capitale.
I neeed to know you fragrantica name❤❤ please share 🥺
Perfumerism!
L’eau Papier, Fleur de Peau, and Eau Rose (black bottle) are so good.
would be interested to hear what you think of Etat Libre d'Orange perfumes if you have time to visit the Paris store... have been wanting to try fils de dieu for a long time
To me the hype is mostly about packaging.
I enjoy most of them but there is no real love there, apart from eau duelle probably but…I don‘t know😅 nice review anyway❤️
Try tempo. The mate may give you the tea scent with an amazing patchouli
Do Son EDP and Eau Rose EDP are amaaaaazing and much better than the EDTs
