I love the old hymns they are a sermon set to music .I grew up with them and I knowGod appreciates a joyful noise but most of the music nowadays is just that noise. The old rugged cross says it all .

I will visit Ireland just to take part in one of the services of this lovely church......I am a humble believer from a village in the Southernmost part of India. So sweet to watch and enjoy traditional worship which is missing in 90 percent of the churches today...Stay blessed pastor, choir and the congregation!!!!!
I love this kind of song very much right from my childhood till today, it's my favourite. Yes we'd say the word content is more important than it's tune and flow, yes I agree but for me it's always 50-50, some song might have good words but not nice tune, then it's usually don't touch my spirit and soul deeply. But this kind of song really touch my soul spirit and mind.. I never listen love song and other song except Gospel song. If this song without only music and tune can really touch my heart. So it means for me the tune is also really matters to me. Hope many will understand me what I'm saying and experienced.
