Very useful video thanks! I just ordered mine for use with Battery input in UK.

Hi Michael! Thank you very much for the videos, they have been very useful. I don't have mine yet but I already ordered it. I know it's not the best, there was the SUN-1000GTIL that I think is of better quality but unfortunately I didn't have enough money. I wanted to ask you if you have tested the response of the equipment to blackouts of the external electrical service? It should detect current flowing out of the house and shut down to protect itself. But I don't know if in practice or does. Thank you very much. Greetings.

I have a Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) installed at the incoming electrical supply. So when blackout, my house is automatically disconnected from the grid and switched to off-grid inverter. Without grid supply these grid-tie inverters don't work, they are in switch off state.

Is it still working? Mine stopped 1200 watt 120-180 imput 134v 1150 watt took off one panel now back up seems can't do over 900 watt

      @michaelseah9617  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes mine is working fine.
In the manual it says limited to 900watt on battery mode. Try switching to PV mode, in the manual it says can goes up to 1300watts.
Currently I only have two 450w solar panel connected to it. I have a picture my unit done 911watts. Vietnam lock down, can't order anything now.

@@michaelseah9617 Thanks, I believe part of the problem is my voltage is too high, after watching your presentation realized in limit mode the voltage is lower than the 120-180 and I was using a limiter, Your video was very helpful, thank you

Hi. Have you been able to test it with battery and panels? Combining mppt charger and soyosource I mean...

I have other videos on my solar power system. Now with 2 MPPT, 4 lithium batteries and more.
These Soyo Source Inverter does have pros and cons.
      Pros:
easy to work with. Can use with or without batteries. User set battery cut off. My 3x grid tie inverter covers 99% my house usage of 15kw per day. Average grid meter less than 1kw import of grid power.
      Cons:
The screen is weak point. I believe it's the heat from itself is hurting the screen. Out of 3 machine, one screen replace cause snowy white. The other is showing up the same and waiting for new screen to arrive. This screen issue it doesn't affect it's function. To me it's set, monitor them working fine for a week then forget I have solar power system and laughing when I saw my electrical bills.
Solar power system are to be installed and working independently. Owners should forget them and get on with much more exciting stuff.

@@michaelseah9617 hi.yes, I found some more Videos of your proyect. Congrats !
I want to do only a little proyect to give some Support but not to be autonomos.
I have a very little soyosource (1000W, 24-48V) two 330W ,48V Panels in parallel and a 20A mppt epever and only 24V 80ah lifepo4 are in their way. Our consumption is not very high. 170kw a month without Panels. I guess that with battery I'll be able to Producer about 50kw per month in south of spain.
I still don't know exactly how my soyosource Setup will be once its running with battery ... I hope Display is not brocken wegen battery arrives 😂😱
      Best regards from Almeria, Ingo

@@ingomohling1864 You will save a lot more electrical power from grid after connect your solar battery.
Grid tie inverter without batteries is like using tap water with low pressure. With batteries the same tap now becomes higher pressure water supply.

Hi! I am a user of Soyosource since last year. The inverter seems good, however, I noticed the Lcd screen is not doing good. I asked for replacement from the supplier and indeed it was replaced and after replacing the lcd after two months of using it the same the lcd is non readable again. So, i bought a wattmeter to determine the output and the harvest from my panel. Just recently, my inverter is not harvesting anymore. Though it still has a power but no more harvest. Do you have any idea what the causes of this? Ty.

I have been using mine for 11months only the first three months it connected directly to solar panels. After that I bought batteries more solar panels and MPPT charger. Soyo source was switch to grid tie only.
The screen issues seems to be heat issue. My house is off grid between 9:30am till 3:30pm cause to avoid the electrical fluctuations. At these time soyo source have well enough rest. The screen will be back to normal. After 3:30pm my house back to soyo source grid tie, after an hour or so the screen issue came back.
I have tried keeping the one of the internal fan on all the time. It doesnt help.
I am currently testing a plastic fan box over the two Soyo source that have screen issue. Initial test was not giving good results yet. It keep the machine cool enough the internal fan was not kick on at all. There is a hot spot at top right corner back of the casing. I am not sure this is the issue as the screen is at center front casing.
Later I might try extending the screen cable to mount it elsewhere to see if this works. The screen do have two circuit board behind. One is for the screen the other maybe the communication board.
For you case not harvesting, have you check the fuse inside? Loose cable connection inside?

Hi Michael. I try to opened the inverter and have checked the fuse and indeed it was busted. ive done replacing it, however when i tested the neg and pos terminal of the dc it is grounded that is why when i opened the dcb no input from the panel side. do you know what might be the reason of being grounded?

@@jemueladanza9186 The Positive and Negative wire is connected to the main board of the inverter.
I guess you have blown transistors. If you can remove the board and measure the transistors and related resistor. If you can get the parts cheap, best is replace all transistors on the same rail.
      Good luck!

Soyosource inverters will not perform their claimed ratings. I have two 120VAC/24VDC 1000 watt inverters connected to two 940 watt arrays that are used, dirty and not pointed at the sun directly. The wattage of 1000 AC output is claimed in their operation manual. The inverter flashes 680 watts and shuts off, resets and repeats. 700 watts is the maximum watts in the power menu. It is 900 in this video. Soyosource will not make the situation right. My guess is that the lowest voltage inverter makes the most heat for ac watts. Still, advertising 1000w and only good for 700w is a crime. They should send me two more inverters to parallel to make the 1000 watts per inverter they sold/promised me. I am using two 120vac for split phase with 2 limiters. That part works well.

If you are using battery limit mode it will always have a reduced wattage output because in these mode it's designed to run 24hrs without cooling period. Whereas in other mode it's designed to run 12hrs only so the electronic have a good cooling period. It's stated in the manual.
You have not mentioned any battery in your system. I presume your system don't have battery. This setup highly affects the output, as nature don't really provide consistent sunlight. Plus totally random load on electrical circuit, inverter can only do it's best to match load & sunlight. It will choose a lower wattage settings to provide a smooth output then to inject a surge current/voltage into your circuit. It's to protect your device & fire hazard prevention.
      Hope these information helps you.
