    As usual, SPOILER WARNING, because while I don't go into the specific details of the endings, I will go into map details and how different splits vary and contribute towards certain endings!

    For the hyzante trial, if you have enough evidence but answer benedict's questions wrong, you actually win the trial and get a free grounding amulet before you head to the arena.

      Indeed, answer Benedict wrong but convince the other members of the Saintly Seven with evidence and not only do you get the grounding amulet, but a slight change in dialogue for both winning and as soon as the battle starts.

    I love how the path to the true ending makes so much sense when you really think about what they each bring and why each of these moments really matters.
    - Chapter 7: Whether you give Roland up or choose to defend him, you will ultimately learn of the fire traps. That is critical in stopping Hyzante's army's advance (despite how it's entirely optional). This is something that Benedict knows well about, hence why he's the one that leads this regiment.
    - Chapter 9: Transporting the illegal salt is the means to get to Aesfrost and meet Svarog, a man that we see scenes of being a very loving father to his son. It's ultimately an opportunity that you normally don't get.
    - Chapter 10: Showing Roland's face to Svarog allows us to win over his trust. That's absolutely necessary to secure an ally in Aesfrost that Roland can trust, rather than Gustadolph. This is why Roland leads his regiment to Aesfrost.
    - Chapter 11: Choosing to defend the Roselle is critical for the Golden Ending because when you go to rescue the Roselle from the Source, Jerrom leads the other Roselle of the village to attack Hyzante, which helps Frederica's regiment to escape.
    - Chapter 15: It isn't about Milo, really. The reason why going to Symon is important is because something is said by Symon personally that Benedict doesn't state, which Serenoa reiterates during the Golden Route. As he dies, Symon tells Serenoa to "forge his own path" and "lead" the people. If you don't go to see Symon yourself, all Benedict does is tell Serenoa of his father's passing and of the origin of his birth. Going there personally and listening to Symon's last words was a strong moment of resolve for Serenoa because it later helped Serenoa realizes that he HAS to be the one to lead his friends and forge a new path that differs from the others, which is what makes him refrain from using the Scales of Conviction and instead form a strategy to help everyone.

      Which would also explain why the game locks you out if you use the fire traps in Chapter 7-Defend...you effectively "need" them.

    If Avlora uses her ultimate on a ship she could very well end up sinking it considering that she pretty much destroys the ground under her, so the fact that she doesn’t is a cool attention to detail.

  • @asu5632
    @asu5632 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Lol a couple of things:
    - foremost thank you for this amazing content. You truly can run a monopoly on triangle strategy content since this amazing hidden gem of a game hasn’t become mainstream and not many of the rpg TH-camrs have made much in this game.
    - when you said you talk to Benedict and he asks you questions and if you finished the exploration right leads you to x y or z is a slightly off. You speak to the Roselian elder. You’ll discover a mirror, a pelt which is common and found throughout the game in roselian places and a rock that requires you to speak to Benedict first then Frederica and then you go back to elder. This chain reaction creates Frederica to escort the elder out and you can see he was sitting on the key to expose the dirty salt trader of the Saintly Seven. When you ask the elder and show you found rock you keep it and can present that to the heirophant and Saintly Seven. It isn’t truly enough evidence but this sends you to the battle ground you spoke of and is one of the easier outcomes. You’ll face the dirty salt trader but it’s a small map.
    - I also will not many people said you get milo in chapter 13,14 temporarily I would tell y’all that it’s not a lot. She only shows up in dialogue and few battles you have in these chapters. You also get her pretty late in chapter 15. One would argue it’s really chapter 16 start. She is an amazing character but it’s a shame you get her so late game.
    My question is, if you aren’t to burn down the Wolfort early on when avlora comes for you with her soldiers….lol how the hell did y’all beat her? I will say triangle strategy is a hard game to grind. So to be over powered at this tuff with tavern at your disposal for mock battles. I’d like tips on this so in new game plus I don’t burn down Wolfort to get the golden path.

    • @doublexstarx
      @doublexstarx 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For beating Avlora without fire traps, you can use Jens to build a ladder that lets your characters (specifically mages and archers) fight safely from the tops of houses.

    • @LinkKing7
      @LinkKing7  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah I actually did forget the part where the elder asks questions and you need to reveal the rest of the investigation info I guess but oh well, hopefully people are a biiiiit more thorough than the summaries I gave haha!
      And well, in NG+ you'll find that you have a lot of very strong units now and a lot of tools that will make Avlora a bit easier than she was on a normal NG run. I can't remember exactly what I did on that map to beat her but yes, there is the option to cheese the entire map from on top of a house with Jens's ladder too and putting archers and mages up there!

      Lol, I just did the map on first run and had to pretty much watch in horror as my fighters all got slaughtered... Except I managed to cheese Avlora with Hughette and for some reason most soldiers will not even try getting on the center house rooftops, so my physician was able to kill most archers and the one smart shieldbearer who tried attacking her there, despite my lacking ladders or a reason she should be safe there...

    I only finished Benedict's route because I kinda felt like his way of doing things would achieve Frederica's goals as well and I thought that what Roland was doing was dumb. second playthrough I didn't care for spoilers so once I realized there was a fourth route I chose to follow it... and then I found out almost all my units needed to grind because of how that route starts and since this sunday I haven't really touched it.

    • @karmenion
      @karmenion 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      also I still preffer playing chapter 16 than chapter one on ng+, because in chapter 16 you can chose your units, so your Roland will stay on the bench as he should in any mission that you can put him there. Also I need my DS in my team or I just don't have enought damage. I think I got him around chapter 16 in my first playthrough so I had to be pretty moral. I mean once I unlocked scouting I only had one character left to unlock and it was time boi because I had like 400 too little Utility and both my Morality and Liberty slightly above 1600(unlocked two characters at the same time).

    • @LinkKing7
      @LinkKing7  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, finding out about the split parties was really annoying for me as well, but at least leveling up units to catch them up is pretty easy and quick so I just did that since I also did the true ending second like you did. I was planning on maxing out all the units anyways so I didn't mind it too much.
      Chapter 1 on NG+ isn't that bad actually since you can manipulate the AI a bit with Roland to have them chase him all the way to the corner with the houses while you huddle up behind the bridge with the rest and slowly choke point the enemies. It's time consuming but it's not difficult.

    • @SonicLegends
      @SonicLegends 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I assume you say felt his way because then once you did his path it turned out nope Rossele still are facing persecution and Frederica clearly isn't happy in the end card along with Serenoa who didn't want to be king. It says a lot when Frederica starts addressing Serenoa as your majesty instead of my love like she does earlier and if you do Roland's path where she leaves Serenoa even tells her he would not want to bind her convictions to his own so Benedict path really is bad for all the conviction path characters aside from Benedict but I would say even that is put into question because devs had to throw in Benedict thanking Serenoa in Golden path for not having his conviction path happen. Really Frederica's is the best ending of the 3 as shown with the end card.

    • @karmenion
      @karmenion 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SonicLegends If they do exactly what they said they would do then it deffinitely isn't the best. They just leave everything behind and don't care what happens in Norzelia. Benedict's is deffinitely best, even if it isn't perfect. Lets be honest that Hyzante is the real problem in this story so Roland's ending is worst, and then Frederica's. That is my opinion tho.

    I am currently in before the route split for CH 17 just grinding for items so it's interesting to know some of the other split points for what I did and Protecting Roland and heading back to Wolfort are the only ones I did route wise for battles in side for the true ending so the rest can be fresh maps for me.
    For Denying Telliore's Request map was pretty easy with ranged allies seeing as you have the uphill advantage.

    For Sorsley's camp route, I had the card skill to make everyone move 3 more spaces (so 3H Stride Lite), so I used that the first turn to get everyone as close to each other as possible, used Serenoa and Erador to plug the left opening then went from there

    I liked Chapter 16 when I played through on Easy. I didn't find it overly challenging, but it took some time which is fine. I look forward to going through the game again on Normal and then Hard and see what the difference is. There were a few points along the way where I was concerned that I might not win a battle, but I never lost one. I suspect when I go up a difficulty level, that will change.

    • @Arcangel23XX
      @Arcangel23XX 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pretty happy I didn't burn any houses. It was early enough in the game where thankfully Serenoa and Roland could actually take more hits, so I turtled up on both staircases with Serenoa and Julio acting as TP battery, Benedict and Roland on the other side, and Anna was the only one running out to the archers on the rooftops abusing stealth as she does to keep them from harassing my units.
      The map actually HEAVILY loads up the left side of the map, so the Roland/Benedict blockade may not have been necessary, but all of my other fighters were posted behind Serenoa and Julio helping thin the herd. Final reinforcements threw me for a bit of a snag but thankfully I killed the flankers with Mage AoEs and Hughette quickly enough to refocus the front since I was determined to keep Julio and Serenoa planted (if Avlora got through I was gonna lose, badly).
      Thankfully Benedict got to leave his post a couple times to buff up Serenoa's defenses too. Luckily once the final reinforcements happened Anna was done and able to come help Roland from dying.
      Last tidbit about the Roland/Benedict blockade is that if I DIDN'T have them there the AI's programming might've tried to send more that way to break through, so blocking both stairways may be critical to that strat.
      EDIT: Still gotta do two playthroughs though because I didn't help the illegal salt trade. >.> Frederica's side all the way...so it seems my path is decided besides getting Milo (the one character I am determined to recruit).

      I happened to stumble into the golden route path. I didn't burn a house because I saw a tips video that describes using choke points to your advantage and I tried that strategy on that map. I protected the roselle and did the salt trade because I wasn't convinced it was a bad thing to do. I thought I made a mistake after how bad they make you feel in the chapter. Finally, when milo said she was going to Wolfort I decided to go there too hahaha! Super stoked it worked out that way for me. Although I think I may do another playthrough to see what happens with other choices and get some characters I missed out on.

  • @AllegroRubato

    I’m currently at the end of my first playthrough and accidentally did all the “true ending” choices, including beating Avlora without using the firetraps, *except* for transporting the salt. Sucks for me because I don’t like any of the options I have for ending, now. I was hoping there was something I was missing (and I guess there was, it was only about a million chapters ago lol). Sigh. I absolutely want to save the Roselle, that’s my goal #1, but Frederica’s plan about it is so dumb. At the same time, I don’t want to ally with Gustadolph, he’s a prick and we should kill him. But Roland’s plan is by far the dumbest one. So idk what I’ll do, now. But anyways I just needed a place to vent. The writing and story have been amazing. I’ve completely loved this game.

    For Chapter 13a (utility, destroy the dam) I figured out how to clear the chapter without any combat and in like 1 minute (on NG+) .All you need benedict with a vanguard scarf, julio and Quohog with a movement bracelet. Place all three in top right corner. First turn use In tandem on julio, then double turn with benedict on quohog. Then julio to give quohog 5 TP. Then on quohog's turn use fleet footed and lightwave, warp him all the way to the right. Move and warp with the first guy on the cliff, then move and warp the solo guy on the watchtower out of the designated area with quohog and the match is won

      It just drags longer than necessary and there aren't too many enemies on the map in general so it feels like a large empty map. Long comment incoming, because I have feelings but nobody to share them with!
    Roland was definitely my favorite of the three and I so wanted to support my friend, but I could not deny that Benedict's strategy was more sound, because at this point everything in the story pointed towards Hyzante being the root of all evil (Frederica's strategies were often out of the question for me anyway, as they were too idealistic) and I thought that everyone being forcibly becoming a believer could only backfire (and I was also very pro-Roselle, because Jerrom is hot and I had hoped he would join my army). When I found out Idore had vanished, I was sure he would just die a lonely old man, but then I saw that epilogue and I couldn't help but feel like I made the wrong choice. It decidedly did not seem like Norzelia was left any better than before. I had hoped Roland would show up after the final battle and he and Serenoa would reconcile, but I definitely did not expect he would become a follower of the Goddess, much less that he would team up with Idore. I figured the Goddess was more so a means to an end for him, to achieve the vision he had in mind, not a religion he actively believed in. And then he basically said he would be starting a revolution and would fight Serenoa, that just hurt (me, a raging socialist, inadvertedly caused the birth of capitalism in this game, while the one person I figured would be all about freedom turned out to be the communist lmao). It left the entire story with a bad taste in my mouth. I hated the ending because it made me regret my choice, even if at the time I thought it was the right one. I also kind of started disliking Benedict, especially because in the end I still don't know WHY he's so attached to Lady Destra. Serenoa also became much more ruthless, which makes sense when under the influence of Benedict. I suppose it's a good thing I'm feeling this way, though, as it tells me the story made an impact on me, and it wants me to make better choices next time. I'll just sacrifice Frederica. I ended up liking her more than I thought, but I found I hardly ever agreed with her lol
    I'm glad there is a fourth path, definitely going for that next, when I play NG+.

    • @LinkKing7
      @LinkKing7  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I love your points and they made me laugh a bit haha! I'm always glad when people share their thoughts and experiences in the comments because it's fun to hear how we all have different experiences!
      I also went down the Benedict route the first time, but I must confess that while most of my decisions were anti-Frederica for most of the playthrough, I did eventually want to join her in that final stretch because I wanted the world to burn itself in the fires of war while I dipped. I couldn't convince ANYONE to side with me on that because my Morality was so low from the entire playthrough that I ended up forced down Benedict's route because I'm a ruthless evil person myself. Ironically, when I DID get to go down Frederica's route, it was my favorite, so on the surface things may not seem to be what you think they are!
      I did the golden path second and don't regret it, but there WILL come a point where you'll realize (just like I did), that this path is meant to be played last.

    • @SvanEsch123
      @SvanEsch123 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LinkKing7 alright, then I’ll save the golden route for last, I imagine it will feel that more satisfying. I also failed to get people to side with Roland (I figured I’d try, even if Benedict had the right of it), and then they all sided with Benedict anyway (even Hughette). I’m gonna force myself to make the “bad” choices this playthrough (sacrifice the Roselle, give up Roland, etc) to see what happens. This is the best game I’ve played in a while!

    Interesting that the chapter 16 mines fight was such a headache for you. The timers on the bombs were a bit stress-inducing, sure. I played on normal difficulty my first time through and had no real issues with the fight.
    My question is: Did you use Anna? Because for me Anna was the MVP of this battle. Perhaps I was also fortunate to have happened to already equipped her with the accessory to boost her movement as well. But I was able to use Anna and the minecarts to very quickly traverse the map. Anna did very little actual fighting for me. And I had her running around defusing bombs. Her ability to act twice made it super easy to defuse a bomb and go stealth on the same turn to avoid her being caught and exposed behind enemy lines. And I don't recall if disarming the bomb broke her stealth or not as I think only hostile actions break her invisibility. I think I only had one bomb get low enough on the timer to turn red the entire fight and even that was not a worry because I new Anna was quick enough to make it to the bomb in time to defuse it.
    So yeah, just curious what your methods were for this fight.

    • @LinkKing7
      @LinkKing7  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It was more so the forced length of the map as opposed to it being difficult. The fight just dragged on and wasn't engaging and the enemies spawning in different corners were annoying, even if I know where they're going to be.

Everyone keeps saying war this war that in character stories, but until the final route split, nobody ever really talks about war breaking out. I finished my first playthrough with my man few days ago and i have to say that it is a really fun game. We ended up with the Benedict route and i got a bit salty cause we accidently always wanted to make the right choice for the hidden ending but we couldnt convince our team to reveal rolands identety which is why we didnt get it. I currently a bit bummed out from the game, i kinda wished that your decisions had more of an impact and that instead of just adding value to your conviction it would always add a value while also reducing the value of another conviction, and that the last route gets choose by what value is the highest instead of another scale. This is also my biggest problem, i didnt play the hidden path yet but i wished that serenoas biggest character moment should have been making 1 F****** decision on his own for once instead of forcing it onto other. Just once at the end he should have been "NO, I WONT GO WITH THE SCALES WE ARE DOING X". but instead his growth feels more like him being a cameleon changing his believes depending on the last choice you make, and that makes him feel really shallow. Frederica is the only true main character of the in my opinion, Benedict is a asshole and Roland is a wimp.

    The choices of the undecideds aren't random. Here's what they'll do if you don't try to convince them.
    In chapter 3, Anna will pick Hyzante
    In chapter 7, Anna will surrender Roland
    In chapter 8 (defend), Benedict will reject Telliore's proposal.
    In chapter 8 (surrender) Benedict will side with Hyzante while Geela will side with Aesfrost, leading to a tie, Seranoa gets the final say here.
    In chapter 9, Anna will pick report illegal salt,
    In chapter 10 (smuggle), Anna will hide Roland's identity.
    In chapter 11, Hughette will defend the Roselle
    In chapter 13, Erador will blow up the dam
    In chapter 15, both Anna and Erador will pick to go back to castle Wolfort.
    In chapter 17, Hughette will side with Roland while Anna, Erador, and Geela will side with Benedict. No one sides with Frederica.
    On a side note, the absolute minimum convictions you need to get the golden ending is 444 utility to convince Anna in chapter 9 and 448 freedom to convince Anna in chapter 10. Both the other requirements get chosen by default.

Roland's proposal was insanely stupid to where I lost a ton of respect for his character, though I do still appreciate his loyalty and the fact he reflects on it after. Roland fits more as a knight than as a ruler imho.
    Benedict's was the most realistic, however we have gone through the scenario time and time again already with the choice of sacrifice in exchange for aid vs holding out ourselves and managed to make it work (i chose to protect roland btw). Also, I have spent the entire game busting my butt to save the Roselle and I was not about to simply throw all the progress away lol. We have proven to Benedict over and over that we can beat the odds.
    I was gunning for a perfect ending, though not sure how the route split was at the time so i just tried to do the most right i could. Sadly, I had to burn Three Houses down to beat Avlora. I was kinda hoping just mitigated damage was enough to save the gold route. But, more incentive to play the game more, so it works out.
    The mines wasnt as bad as i expected it to be. Anna, Hughette, Serenoa, and Archibald wrecked that map for me 1st. Though again im on normal difficulty atm so maybe on my next run i'll hate it.
    I do on the other hand hate the final map i am on. Ah yes a freaking escort mission on the final map with green (pink?) units, reinforcements and archers with the highest vantage point. I hate Idore, and he wasnt making it easier with the massive army wide buffs he gets to give everyone. Also, i really hate enemy mages in this game.

      If you're playing on NG+, you can just use Quahaug's Distorted Space to swap positions with Idore on turn 1 and kill him instantly. That's what I did and the map took a whole 3 minutes to do and was incredibly funny.
      I actually liked the Frederica ending the most out of all of them (when you finish it you'll know why, it's fairly obvious haha)
      But yeah the golden route is fairly well hidden, and considering my lack of morality in my decisions, I pretty much picked the opposite choice for it on every split!

    I'll say this now but won't watch entire vid just yet, haven't done gold ending but I'm new game plusing it to get it. I did the Federica ending on my first play through. Personally I think the Roland end may be the worst in the sense of loss and changes also f hyzante lol. But each specific conviction ending resulted in a massive sacrifice of some sort. But I think of the three Benedicts I like the best, but idk I'm sure my mind may change especially if I decide to play for all endings

      Yeah Benedict's ending was pretty cool, though I personally really enjoyed Frederica's!

      @@LinkKing7 yeah I think of the three that one may be the best I just watched those endings on TH-cam but have not seen anything on the Golden and I'll keep it at that for when I finally get through it

      Yup, there is a LOT of story in this game, but it does get more balanced later on down the line!

    Everyone is CORRUPTED in this game... I was shocked on the part when BENEDICT couldnt agree on you for saving the roselle... and wanted you claim the salt for power... this game isnt afraid to be politically correct...

      I like it, it's far more realistic in it's approach to what a real conflict like this would look like!

    Lol my guy i was prepared how bad chapter 16 was and it was easy! My team is decked in promotions and movement and weapons and went it at level 28. I easily beat. In fact chapter 16 was the easiest map I did. Lol cmon.

    I went ahead and experienced the 3 main routes first, before going on the path to the true ending. It was a lot of fun. Might do one last playthrough, but on hard and aiming to get everyone's final upgrades

      Yeah, I did the true ending second and it kind of made me wish I'd done the others first, especially because of a certain mechanic...
