hey dude!!! you're actually basically dead on with the supporting me solo (great work!!) - the only difference is for the diminished arpeggio you're playing at 14:19, I'm actually tapping this pattern on the D and B strings instead of sweep picking it. Doing it this way I believe makes the pattern a bit easier, but it really depends on whatever you're comfortable with. Thank you for the kind words and the 10/10 rating!!!! I really appreciate it ❤
Wow dude thanks! Your work is incredible. Can’t wait to try out that tapping pattern, probably will help a bunch, I appreciate it!! It’s an honor to have you check out the video and comment. 💪🏼🤘🏼
glad you covered the solo in the new version of supporting me - i reckon it's some of the best guitar work in sonic along with the titan themes in frontiers. the rhythm guitar underneath it is insane too! nice video :)
It was Jun Senoue and the Sonic Adventure 2 soundtrack that actually inspired me to play guitar. You can’t imagine how difficult it was for me to play it cool when I got to meet him and he signed my copy of Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. Core memory of mine, for sure.
That opening to Shadow Generations on Space Colony Ark gives me chills every time. They nailed that hook! I’m glad someone qualified broke down the music because there’s no way I could have. 😂 Act 2 City Escape in Generations is GOAAAAAATED. It truly felt like an evolution of the OG song. New Sub because of this vid 🎉
And might I add he has a very distinct guitar style, as in the kind of pitch and sound he plays his guitar in can be heard from almost all his covers and when I heard it I was thinking it’s sound like a RichardEB cover and lost it when I found out he did the boss music. I was shook
I will agree with you on City Escape Act 2 being better than Act 1, but as an EDM enjoyer, I can't discount Act 1 all together. It's got some really cool callbacks and details stitched into it, like the vocals from the second verse being auto-tuned to the melody of "Endless Mine" from Sonic 3 and Knuckles - a song that Sonic fans have often compared to City Escape for its similar structure. Or the keyboard solo matching the guitar solo from the instrumental demo version of Escape from the City. And of course the use of Sega Genesis instruments like the famous snare drum. Sonic Generations brought it's A-game on the soundtrack, and it's awesome to know that years later, they matched that energy with Shadow Generations too!
@@ThePurpleCheeseMan this is a really insightful perspective. Interesting to me now because I didn’t pick up on those things! Thanks for sharing that. Awesome stuff!!
Fun fact: Jun Senoue was the man behind the original soundtrack for Sonic Adventure 1 all the way up til Shadow the Hedgehog in 2005 and did all the guitar parts himself! He would then hand the keys to his protogé Tomoya Ohtani who jumped on during Sonic Adventure 2 and he's been handling the Sonic music ever since (as well as handling the bass portions himself). Jun Senoue would only return for smaller games such as Sonic Rivals 2 (PSP) with Ted Poley in 2007 for the main theme Race to Win, Sonic & The Black Knight (Wii) with fellow Crush 40 bandmate Johnny Gioeli in 2009 composing the entire game's soundtrack, and Team Sonic Racing with Johnny Gioeli for the main theme Green Light Ride. Other than those games, hes taken a back seat as a more behind the scenes person. But Sonic x Shadow Generations is the first game since Black Knight that hes actually composing more than 1 track for the Sonic series. And its fitting that he did it for Shadow's side of Generations. As well as doing the remix for City Escape! PS: The man behind the solo for Supporting Me in Shadow Generations is TH-camr RichaadEB!
I don't like the removal of the lyrics for Supporting Me because it's one of the coolest haunting industrial style songs I've ever heard. But I understand why they did it and I agree that the newer version is also a 10/10. I'm really just having a great time renewing my love for the franchise. Love your presentation and style, definitely subbed
15:45 I'm one of the people who prefer the act 1 remix over the act 2 remix. And I wouldn't call the inclusion of "It Doesn't Matter" in act 2 an "easter egg", because it's so well known and obvious. The act 1 remix has such an "easter egg" as well - it quotes a melody from Sonic 3's "Endless Mine", one of the 2-player-levels, and another from the instrumental demo/trial version of SA2, which is much less obvious.
@@amarokorama someone else just mentioned that too. Such an Awesome Easter egg for the Act 1 version that I didn’t even pick up on! Thanks for sharing 🤘🏼
I find it kinda ironic that for the location most associated with Shadow opens with the music from Sonic's level in Adventure 2, Final Rush. Still a banger track. As for Jun's name, there's a video of him pronouncing it as "Sen-oh-way" so you aren't far off
Supporting me sounds really good. Personally I like how much more darker it sounds in sa2 with the distortion and stuff. But shadow gens sounds great just wish they kept the vocals
It's funny, because In Sonic Generations, Act 1s are 2D an Act 2s are 3D, but in Shadow Generations, they flip that around by having Act1s be 3D and Act 2s are 2D, so I think the version of Radical Highway you were talking about was actually Act 1, since Act 2 in the game has a different sound.
I think it’s just that the OG Escape From the City is the best, Classic remix was a really nice sounding fun party remix of it. And Modern Sonic’s is good but it just felt like build up that cuts off over and over to me. The music you DO get is really in style. The vocals are great. The new section fits well and is good. It just feels like it’s missing something. The extra verse and the extra part referencing It Doesn’t Matter have that thing that’s missing in the rest of the song.
There truly is nothing like the OG city escape! And I agree with you in the sense that the music you get with this game sounding “in style”. They did a great job making the music feel refreshing in the modern era. (OG is always goated though)
As far as city escape goes, the people preferring the new version over the old are likely younger audience who didnt grow up with it. The real crime was not including the original version as an unlockable song.

When SA2B came out back during the GameCube era, did anyone ever feel like you've paid $50 for a soundtrack, and got the game for free?
