2021 Change of Command -- Maj. Gen. Edward D. Phelka, National Commander

Civil Air Patrol’s 25th national commander, Maj. Gen. Edward D. Phelka, assumed command Aug. 26, 7 p.m., in a time-honored ceremony in Detroit.
Phelka and CAP's new national vice commander, Brig. Gen. Regena Aye, were sworn in during a small ceremony limited because of COVID-19 precautions.

My complements to you on your promotion, CAP will be stronger and better under your leadership. It is a big "pair of shoes" to fill following General Smith, but I am sure you can and will do it.
