The Drummer is Ricky "sugarfoots" Wellman . He created the GO-GO beat . The music that Washington DC and the word cant get enough of . He was the drummer for Chuck Brown and the soul searchers . Rest in peace Ricky .... I miss your sound man .
Miles has to have the smoothest sound ever! The most fabulous note choices, phrasing as well technique, speed...etc..., and I'm not sure how to describe the amazing musical genius that he's been and will always be? Otherworldly might do it?
The buoyancy of his notes and the intersection of his rhythm with the immutable nature of space gives him ultimate freedom.-only the true masters understand this.
Watched this concert a 1000 times, legendary, just love everything about it; its all humans playing, together they create a swing that no machine can ever come close 2, i hope🤯🥶❤🎶
Art students should dig this concert, Miles in Paris. He even talks about painting, very arty guys. Try painting New York skyline or some kinda Avant Gard cityscape. I mean loosen up cat !!
I was there, 20 years old... It was an absolute dream for me to go to this concert... so impressed... Miles always went forward... (except in 1991, in Paris again)... A trumpetist, a writer, a conductor who changed several times the music... In a word : genius !
Yes, "Human nature" to begin, a shock... it was like for all listeners, in Paris, & all over the word, since the fourties, till the end of the eighties.... He was so easy with the themes, his musicians... and it's such a pleasure to listen to him again;.. and again :)
i am very jealous of you my friend! hahaha! i love miles still! i had a chance to see him in seattle but i missed the opportunity and still regret it! cheers brother!
Sorry! 4" being... So...RAW! But"I',.need no' exquisite.so keep in mind, that Art"Artist... Are a... Liquid, form of Life! ',.. Hope you've Injoy the Jaz.. And GOD blessed!
Kudos to you, Stanislav for sharing this precious jewel of Miles in Paris 1989! Since I stumble upon it, I practically listen to this entire video at least twice a day. Thanks be to our creator for his majesty for our technology as well as giving us the one and only Miles♨❗ I remember reading and/or listening to one of Miles rare interviews, "When you come to the concert you get a different version of the recorded tunes". I think his love for Paris comes through his music for this is simply a masterpiece indeed. It motivates me to ponder playing the Trumpet.💯💥
Must be one of the great performances of all time. I feel sorry for the musically handicapped who don’t understand nor feel this music. Miles was one the Jazz Giants who had several careers. Incredible!!!
What an incredible concert! I was fortunate enough to see Miles Davis in live performance at the Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto on June 19, 1985. It was a magical night with Davis sliding in and off the stage and playing with his back to the audience. He wore a leather jacket with a large eagle embroidered into it. He had the audience entranced with his playing. This takes me back to that majestic night. He breaths soul into every note he blows through that trumpet. Damn, I wish I had that incredible jacket.
Beautiful. I've bought the DVD around in 1990 in Montpellier when I was student but I can't miss the occasion to hear it on YT or elsewhere. Always good. Thanks for sharing. Dakar Senegal
New Blues is quality. I saw Miles in Manchester around this time. It wasn't a memorable evening as he added a night to the tour and must have been tired but I'm just glad that i was in his prescence.!
I was at the Apollo that night, I thought it was a great gig. In terms of jazz, only gigs by Weather Update, Joe Zawinul and his band, or John McLaughlin have been near the same level. 👍
I was quite fortunate to see Miles perform in Chicago's Grant Park back in the summer of 1990. It was simply magical and ever since I became totally engulfed with Miles Davis the man, his music and of course his sartorial style of dress. Such talent is truly a "Gift" from our Creator of above!
This is an excellent late career concert, however, I give Miles Davis and Friends (Paris 1991} the edge because it features so many of his past band members including Hancock, Zawinul, Corea, Shorter, Grossman, Evans, Holland, and Scofield. Plus some great versions of his old repertoire, plus an off the wall version of Hancock’s Watermelon Man. Wonderful.
At least….I would venture to say he changed jazz in more ways then we realize. Now approaching 2023, we’re still trying to catch up with his influential genius.

Kenny Garrett is really something!
Yep, I had a chance to hear him live twice. Amazing musician.

His playing after Human Nature is amazing but if you really want to hear his best performance of that spot check out the Montreax July 7, 1988 gig.
Miles Davis concerts are actually humorous. I like how he just goes up to almost each musician and do that call and response thing.
😏😏😕🧐😕😕🧐😕

A True Genius In All Aspects Of His Life, However, Especially His Musical Career...
Kenny Garrett is a monster on this one. I need to get some of his solo stuff.

I grew up listening to this tape...this is timeless music.
i love the way Foley pinches the harmonic on a bass. Beautiful 1:11:07

For some reason ( as musionship) I love what Miles did and. Hendrix, in their musical approach to soloing. Do you agree or not????
Miles had a project to work with Jimi but it didn't happen
Miles Davis music always make me feel peaceful.

Yes, and he was very late; kept us waiting for an hour, listening to some rubbish bangla band.
12:00 sax solo goes in confidently, amazing!!!
Spettacolo semplicemente magnifico. Tutti bravissimi. Miles favoloso. Ma la vera star della serata è stato il sassofonista: un vero portento! 28:46
Amazing, Miles always the best! He is a legend. Thanks for share

Well Damn
His best concert imho
best was with Robben Ford. Montreaux 1986. George Duke sits in at 50:00
the funk and the improvisation was strong strong strong that night.
