My very first Miles live experience…….and I was hooked ever since. Saw him six times in succession at the NSJF in The Hague, untill he unfortunately passed away in september ‘91. Fortunately, John Scofield is still alive, always go to see him when he is in the Netherlands.
T'est pas le seul, c'est le génie du jazz et une grande école d'artistes
The Greatest Musician Ever! One of a kind and a genius! 🙏
The 1985 concerts were freaking explosive and good. I listened to that Montreux concert.
I really like this miles era! Unique.
I was there, and it was fantastic!
undeniable great artist beyond music
Fabulous all around !
Lovely touch @34.10 Miles coaxes Darryl Jones to very front. Nurturing the next generation!
Miles, always image-conscious, has his wireless unit in a stylish leather case. Thanks for the upload. I've always liked Miles percussion-heavy '80's sound. Sco', Berg and Marcus too!
Boy did he have his tone back 2:07 and Miles knew it, because he opens without a mute, very confident. Band is tight like a mother, even though he would soon replace the drummer.
Thanks very much for upload. I recall that it was almost painfully loud in the tent -so turn it up as much, as your neighbours allow, to get a sense of how it felt.
I think Vince was his nephew and according Miles he kept dropping the beat so [with the protest from Miles' family] Vincent was let go, Please correct me if I'm wrong
@@LOKJazz No correction - unfortunately Vince's drumming was not of the same calibre as Al Foster's or Ricky Wellman's: there's no shame in that as few can drive and lock a band on that level.
Miles always had awesome drummers -they were essential to his sound.
i saw this band live a couple times and this version effin rocks !!! vincent and the munch!!! bergman!!! miles had his tone and fire !sco!!
Planète Miles, intemporel,rip...
20:24 Maze !
Awesome🌟
The mix settles down after a couple of minutes.
The video cuts about 6 mins into 'Pacific Express'.
According to Jan Lohman the last section of the concert was as follows:-
Code M.D. 6.32
Pacific Express (nc) 15.40
Katia 7.17
Hopscotch 7.44
You're Under Arrest 7.10
Medley: Jean Pierre-Under Arrest-Then There Were None 9.34
Encore Decoy 5.51
48:50 Time after Time by #Miles 1:01:13 Second solo by John Scofield
Miles au sommet ! mais il est vrai qu'il a toujours été au sommet...Bob Berg au sax , Scofield excellent...
And 8 years later , Darryl Jones joined the Stones. Charlie Watts would’ve approved of a bassist who’s played with Miles
I eat videos like this with soup 🍲. Everyday!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Man..brother Miles wore some bad ass shit too...seenm Pitts pa Stanley theatre bout '87-"88
If I recall they left out Jean Pierre at the end for an encore. Thanks for posting, great show!!

ueo ai.
Excelente comentário, meus parabéns, preciso e coerente - razoabilíssimo!
7:36 nice
1:03 - The Drums disappear from the mix, reenter @ 2:02.
Then enjoy the bass and keyboard ;)
That bass player has listened to Larry Graham a time or two. More thumpin' and pluckin' than poppin' and slappin'.
Imho the second song is called "New blues" ...
Vu à nancy même année même formation🕺🏻🕺🏻
Can anyone name the full lineup?
Miles Davis - Trumpet and keys
Bob Berg - Alto and tenor saxofone.
John Scofield - Guitar
Darryl Jones - Bass
Robert Irving III - Keys
Mino Cinelu - Percussion
Vincent Wilburn - Drums
I love at 1:12:38 and again at 1:13:06
Y's his horn buried in the mix????
Cos the mix is where it,s at,where it should be!!!
🎶 ⭐👍 💋🎵🎶 🌟 🌞 💜
Who is the drummer ?
Vincent "Vince" Wilburn, Jr. (* 1958 in Chicago ) is an American drummer and producer of fusion and funk music who plays a crucial role in Miles Davis' late work . Davis' nephew is also one of his estate administrators
@@Squirrelconga Got sacked by Miles. "Couldn't keep time".
Vince is burning.......

Whada fk wrong with the crowd?
yo ollways lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllliv
It's a typical 80s' sound live, I think. Plain, tidy, cool taste of sound , far from his 70s' music. Right or wrong ,Miles has changed.
Of course, he change continualy. That's the whole point of his music creation arc.
KATANA/WAKIZASHI/TANTO JAZZ...
Wakanda Forever!
Hey Miles, What's the "F" up with the key board. Stick with the horn.
Jim Ronsivalli yeah i thought he was screwing around too..
I think it passes under this context of a composition
He,s a brilliant keyboard player, playing some of the best solo,s ever,on theme to jack johnson,On the corner,& agharta,in fact he plays a bit on most his albums. This is 15yrs to late & miles had lost much of his gusto after the 70s,When he played his best stuff in my opinion.
@@robertsmith4157 why,did i get some of the facts incorrect,a wrong date or something, its just a off the cuff comment
yes you were, john jackson, very imaginative of you!"hopefully he reads this stuff & corrects himself,Remember!stupid!
Nobody, not even Marcus got a better Bass tone than Darryl Jones got on Decoy and You're Under Arrest.
Such a disgrace Miles plays with his back to the audience. They have paid big bucks to see this genius perform and not his back. This is a insult to the audience. The audience would might as well have bought a CD!
awful mix!
Strange sound.
