Maybe because she’s a Palpatine? The choice in director for the Rey movie just shows that Disney learned *nothing* from the failure of The Marvels and the past several years since the release of the last Star Wars movie. You're right but in the MCU, nah, they changed it to echoes of her ancestors. Lol Just like they changed Kamala Kahn's power heritage. Even with her original powers, she was a D list hero who only ever failed upwards like Mystique. Most notably, around when Mortal Kombat came out and the Hawkeye series was being released, they made a comic where Echo and others inherit the Phoenix Force but then have to fight in a martial arts tournament to see who is worthy to wield the entire Phoenix Force. Long story short: she loses to Namor, literally dragged to the bottom of the ocean, disappeared til the very last issue of the run where she's suddenly declared the victor for holding her breath and not for being the superior fighter... they literally just elevated her comic counterpart to lend hype to the MCU. She's the new phoenix with rip off powers of Taskmaster and she still loses left and right. 😂 If disney had a single writer worth their salt, they would have made her the new Taskmaster instead of trying to make unnecessary power scaling work.

Yeah, this isn’t anything new. Yeah it happens all of the time; an incompetent or unqualified person will be promoted to a higher position, usually by another incompetent or unqualified person who has been promoted to a higher position.
Well normally people start from the bottom or somewhere. Tv directing can be great. My thoughts would be who is writing it and how the director will interpret the story. Each has a job to nail, some television shows can last many seasons. Maybe some tv director dreams of movies, or perhaps want nothing to do with it.
People rightly criticize communism as a system. However, now we must point out the faults of capitalism. If this was Canon, Disney would've already filed for bankruptcy. All of Rey's quotes make sense in this era because "She" is less of an identification term and more a personality. The "Shes" and "Theys" is a personality. A hive mind. When someone uses pronouns, you already know what their personality is going to be. Rey is a blank insert. She's kinda like your character in Fallout or Elder Scrolls. So much love for Jedi Brooks for bringing in the Prometheus/Covenant debacle. Alien fans, we have suffered. Alien Resurrection was my introduction to being sorely disappointed by a much anticipated movie
My main take away from Ridley Scott's Prometheus & Alien: Covenant - was "Why?" Hollywood is trying to make too many "origin" stories. But why couldn't the Xenomorph's just be an Alien species in space? When I see a Man eating Tiger, I don't go "Hey! I wonder where they originated from!" The whole take from the original films was this "perfect organism" - then Covenant just created a stupid "god/creator" complex of Man creates Android, Android creates Monster, Man Fears/adores Monster. Also - love how the gang were making fun of Alien: Resurrections - but then slowly started making some good points about the film. Haha, love those moments. Finally - I did enjoy Godzilla Minus One - especially if we're comparing budgets to current big screen projects out of Hollywood - it is a great use of resources. But it also looks pretty cheap and wooden at points. I felt Godzilla's walk was clunky and just looked like a CGI of a man in a suit. (which might've been the direction?) Storywise - Minus One was great. Which I think it what is drawing a lot of the positive reviews. I defo felt connected to the cast and was rooting for the protagonist. Albeit the ending was very predictable, it was a feel good movie.
Calling Daisy Ridley "not a great actress" is seriously an understatement. I never understood how she got a major acting role in Star Wars. She just cannot act. She is so overdramatic. Ridiculously melodramatic. She acts like the actors in Indian soap operas (I am Indian, trust me, I know what I'm talking about). She is a soap opera actor, at best. People compared her casting to the casting of virtual unknowns in A New Hope, but those three could actually act.

"To make men uncomfortable..." "Why?" "To make them uncomfortable." "Why?" "To make them uncomfortable!" "WHY???" You don't make people uncomfortable just to make them uncomfortable, that's not an endgoal, unless you're a sadist. You can, for example, make a movie like Stalingrad which can make people uncomfortable, but the goal is not to make them uncomfortable for the sake of making people uncomfortable, it's to depict the horrors of war and transmit them via medium of art. If there is no goal or meaning connected to your action, there is also no value attached to it, unless as mentioned, you're a sadist in which case other sadists might appreciate your action of making people uncomfortable for the sole sake of making people uncomfortable.
I was 8 when Empire came out and 10 when Jedi was released……Jedi you can say was met with some disappointment and even at 10 i was not a fan of Ewoks but Empire? 1:18:45 Mauler called it right. They have an odd homogeneous, influencer tumblr vibe to them. Especially with the Doctor Who psuedo-cosplay style clothing. Some looked racially, sexually, gender ambiguous. It's the opposite of how nerds used to look like. It's almost a geek chic meets hipster aesthetic with a dash of metrosexuality.
I think it is confirmed that they are paid actors
I mean, I have never met anyone who dresses like those people in real life. It's like every sjws wet dream. They all look like they are from "insert X" modern identifying group. There's not a single person that just looks like a regular woman or man.

Isn't _Echo_ referring to the original power of her being an echo of another person's fighting style, which they removed
Oh yeah it was, now it's just mocking her disability LUL
It's a bit of both as best I can tell
If disney had a single writer worth their salt, they would have made her the new Taskmaster instead of trying to make unnecessary power scaling work.

Someone should make The Many Moods of Rey Skywalker t-shirt. Vader had one, so why not Rey?
Venom 1 was okay.. But Venom 2 DROPPED THE BALL.. It was basically just REHASHING the "relationship" that venom ALREADY had established in part one ALL OVER AGAIN.. They REALLY need to leave that ALONE if they do a part 3... That PART of the equation should be already "figured out"... Now it should be figuring out what they can do together (venom has eaten 2 symobiotes now.. It SHOULD be able to do quite a bit... If they can "figure it out") And for HEAVEN'S SAKE I hope Brock is either WITH his ex.. OR SHE IS GONE from the story.. Because her just drifting in and out of his life is REALLY kinda toxic. MOVE ON ALREADY
Not to mention they fucked up in NWH by saying Venom is still connected to the hive mind. Meaning he should already have the genetic memory of other symbiotes with different powersets. Carnage and Riot's bladed weaponry all the way to grendel's wings and powers seen in King In Black.

The fact that she was at one of their meetings just feels so telling now.
Yeah, this isn’t anything new. Disney has been doing this since 2014 when they hired tv directors for Captain America 2, etc.
But then MauLer/Critical Drinker/Star Wars fans will discredit this by saying, “that’s different, Captain America 2 was good.” And then I’ll say, “well, we don’t even know if the new Daisy Ridley Star Wars movie is good or bad because it hasn’t even been released yet.”
Yeah it happens all of the time;
an incompetent or unqualified person will be promoted to a higher position, usually by another incompetent or unqualified person who has been promoted to a higher position.
But these modern day corporations have so much money, due to these mergers, they can afford to push any message they want. They can afford to lose millions or even billions of dollars. They don't care.

She's not the first paraplegic female hero. Rose McGowan in Planet Terror loses her leg and carries on just fine.
She's an amputee in that movie. Paraplegia is when both lower extremities are non functional.
1:07:22 - you know that a fundamental change to a character (echo's powers) is stupid when you can't describe it with a straight face.
My main take away from Ridley Scott's Prometheus & Alien: Covenant - was "Why?"
Hollywood is trying to make too many "origin" stories. But why couldn't the Xenomorph's just be an Alien species in space? When I see a Man eating Tiger, I don't go "Hey! I wonder where they originated from!"
The whole take from the original films was this "perfect organism" - then Covenant just created a stupid "god/creator" complex of Man creates Android, Android creates Monster, Man Fears/adores Monster.
(which might've been the direction?)
Storywise - Minus One was great.
She’s average at best, tbh.
She was decent but that was more JJ and Rian’s fault. She’s probably good in other things outside of Disney SW

"WHY???"
You don't make people uncomfortable just to make them uncomfortable, that's not an endgoal, unless you're a sadist.

Rey and Kylo Ren kissing was more awkward than when Luke and Leia kissed, and they're siblings. lmfao
Mark Hamill and Fisher made it work tho for their characters
Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver tried but Rey and Kylo have no chemistry
@@chasehedges6775 Yeah, it's like they pulled it out of their arses. lol

The fight in the school hallway in Grosse Point Blank was surprisingly gritty for a comedy.
"I should have brought my gun."
"What?"
"We are going to have FUN!"
On a separate note. Imagine if Disney got starwars 10 years earlier. How different it could have been.
Disney back in the mid 2000s and early 2010s would have been good for Star Wars because they still were making good movies at that point
It would be the same or worse. They running anything properly?
lol what? “Revenge of the Sith” released in 2005. Disney became the owner of Star Wars in 2012, with “The Force Awakens” releasing in 2015.
Your comment makes no sense.

Barbie did really well.
Did it try to appeal to males? Nope!
Maybe the next incarnation of Barbie will be updated to accommodate males aged 15 to 40. That's what will broaden its appeal and, no doubt, increase income!
Amiright?
👎👎. Barbie was meh and Ryan Gosling deserved better.
@@chasehedges6775 my girlfriend wanted to see it. We watched it. It was sorta funny, Ryan was great, then the third act hit. We were both horrified by it. Absolutely horrified. Holy crap that took a turn lol

Dosney have been advertising Echo very very hard, which is strange if it is as bad as it looks.
ITS OPEN BAR! ITS OPEN BAR! ITS OPEN BAR!!!
I bypassed the oppressor!
Sad that this “feminist activist” thinks so little of “women”. Every time she mentions being a “woman” she follows it up with a “damsel in distress” by basically saying “I can be aggressive and make men step back and be uncomfortable, or I can be a woman and be a damsel in distress “…
Is she not a “woman” the whole time?
Regarding fights scenes, I think my favorite fight scene is, at least the funniest, is the fight scene from the movie Guest House Paradiso. 🤣
The sad thing about Stargate 200 is they turned around basically made that silly Wormhole Extreme show in Stargate Universe
From Open Bar #1 to 79 and Star Wars is still dead.
35:43 *Willow* was an afterthought movie back in 1988, and contrary to Ron Howard's opinions, _absolutely no one_ was demanding that Willow make a comeback. 🤨It will disappear beneath the waves of history, just like "The Devil's Pass Key" by Erich von Stroheim.

Regarding District 9, I loved that movie.
