Hi Maflo! Just recently (Dec2020) Upwork started giving free 40 connects for new registers, if I’m not mistaken. You also get 10 Free connects every month and can be rolled over the next month should they not be used. Upwork also gives additional connects when you get and respond to an interview from a job proposal you sent.☺️

Hello Marie! Welcome to my community! Did you get your client outside any freelance platforms (not inside Upwork or any other platform)? Is Skype the only communication tool you have? How about email? If 1 week has passed and your client is still a no-show, message him/her again and ask if the project is still active so you can both move forward. If still no reply after that, better to leave it off for now and wait if he or she responds (unless of course if you're awaiting payment). In the meantime, don't stick to one client especially when you are just starting out. Get at least 2 or 3 so that whenever the other client is inactive, you still have 1 or 2 more projects to work on. So I think it's best you apply to more projects. I truly hope this makes sense. =)
Confessions of a Virtual Assistant yes Im still applying to other platforms such as Upwork. However Coach Z, I find it hard to buy connects. My debit cards are now inactive. Paymaya also takes a longer time to upgrade for a virtual card. What other payment methods can you suggest?
Confessions of a Virtual Assistant It's been a week now. Actually the old pinay VA was the one assigned to train me so I can replace her. But the pinay old VA went awol and didnt train me further so I guess im left here to train myself. Also, I find it sayang to let go of my client bc she is really kind and she's not entertaining other applicants. She's focused on me but yun nga, skype is our only communication & I haven't fully absorbed the training. UPDATE: She replied to me just now and she came from the hospital from a surgery....
@@m.6931 Yes! I just said that leave it off for now not leave her. hehe Meaning let it be and then find additional clients. Just the same, in cases where our clients get sick or go through some challenges, we need a back up plan. It's never a bad idea to add MORE because I've been there. I focused on one client, worked for them for almost 8 months and then contract ended and I was left with an empty hand. =) I do hope your client recovers fast, Marie! SO proud of you kabayan!
@@m.6931 You can try other platforms such as Fiverr and Onlinejobs.ph para di ka muna gagastos. As for Upwork connects kasi I use my earnings to buy. I think Paypal is good. =)

I have question about job connects, will I have to pay for that? how?

But you also have the option to add connects by buying using online transfers like paypal or you may use a credit card. Hope this helps!

Is there an age limit to becoming a VA?
None at all as long as you have the skills and can deliver what is needed. Even students do freelancing on the side😊
