  • I was running along West Cucamonga Truck Trail (near Rancho Cucamonga in the Los Angeles area) and decided to explore the upper portions of sapphire canyon upstream of the first river crossing. I stumbled upon some great waterholes, a mysterious treehouse and more.

It's a wild area! The cabin is pretty neat and the waterholes are great too. It looks like it got damaged at some point. I've stumbled upon some other spots people have set up like this. It's always wild to see what people wind up brining to these secluded spots.

Good video. How far up the creek did you hike?

Thanks, I think I went a mile or two up the creek before turning around. It's a neat place to explore. I'm planning on going a little further next time, but I did this late in the day before a tropical storm, so I didn't;t want to get carried away.

I didn't see any that I remember, although I wouldn't be surprised if there were a few lying around. There was a bunch of stuff near by. I have stumbled upon some small-scale growing sites (just a few plants) in the Angeles National Forest, but I think it's just some hippies trying to grow a few plants here and there (nothing crazy or dangerous to be around, although I have seen some spots where it looks like water might be getting redirected out near Azusa - there are a few tributaries out there that feed into the reservoirs that I'd like to explore more one of these days, but I hope I don't run into anything crazy).

Yeah, I think so, It's upstream from Sapphire Falls, it eventually leads up to a nice waterfall ropewiki.com/Cucamonga_Canyon_%28Middle%29
