  • Huge earthquake rocks Japan and sparks tsunami warnings as people flee swinging buildings.
    The first waves struck the city of Miyazaki on the southwestern island of Kyushu - less than 30 minutes after the first 6.9 magnitude quake hit.
    Warnings have been issued for several coastal areas of Kyushu and the nearby island of Shikoku, according to public broadcaster NHK.

      For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 6:23 NKJV)
      For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
      And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, (Hebrews 9:27)
      And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15)
      But the cowardly, unbelieving, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolators, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." (Revelation 21:8)
      And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. (Revelation 22:12)
      that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)
      Dear friend, Jesus is coming quickly. Repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved from the wrath of God. Turn to God or burn in the lake of fire? Make a decision today!

      My house barely moved in the 6.8 earthquake in Washington State in 2001. Japan has the best building codes of any nation.

    • @kzhemh
      @kzhemh หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Depends on how close you are to the epicenter, the type of earth under you, the buildings's structure. I lived in San Francisco during the 7.1 earthquake in 1989 (on my birthday of all days) Most buildings built on bedrock were ok. Many of those in the Marina neighborhood which is not on bedrock collapsed and sank into the ground.

    • @atatterson6992

      @@Teresa-L.2024 you realize a 7.1 is three times stronger than a 6.8, correct?

    • @solandri69
      @solandri69 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      It's because (1) strict earthquake-resistant building codes, and (2) Japan has big earthquakes so often, anything not capable of withstanding it already collapsed in a quake decades ago. And was rebuilt stronger.
      @@kzhemh Epicenter was 12 mi away from the nearest major city, 17 mi below the surface.
      1989 quake was 56 mi from San Francisco (10 mi from Santa Cruz), 11 mi below the surface. It should have been a non-issue for SF, except most of the city was built on landfill.
      (Similar problem happened with the 1985 mag 8.1 Mexico City quake. Epicenter was 220 mi away, 20 mi deep. But Mexico City is built on a dry lake bed which liquefied.)

    This kind of earthquake is like an annual event, but what's different is that it might be the beginning phase of the expected Nankai Trough earthquake.
    If so, the scale and magnitude of the main earthquake will be unprecedented, devastating West Japan including Osaka and Kyoto.
    For the first time ever, an alert warning was issued to stay cautious for a possible Nankai Trough earthquake.

      The March 2011 tsunami was just unbelievable. I went to Kamaishi that year to do some volunteer work, and I had never seen so much crazy destruction in my life. I lived through Hurricane Katrina here in New Orleans in 2005, and I never thought I could see anything worse… then I saw the entire Sanriku coast just decimated, it was humbling.

    I suppose with that video of the bowling alley, there is an excuse for throwing a gutter ball in the middle of that.

    In Japan, a 7.1 is not very scary. Their infrastructure can deal with far worse. But of course, they didnt know how strong it would get, so obviously its scary when its going down.

    Horror !? Few trains late, a bit of a waterlogged hill collapsed and some cancelled flights.
    That’s less disruption and destruction than a normal monday morning in Paris…

    When I was 16 years old there was a small scale over the ocean in the west side of the island and I heard like a boom and fences and Al sudden I was in a rocking chair at the porch and all sudden I felt the ground like a wave under the chair and then more shaking I ran out the house to the street. It didn’t last long but it was scary. That’s like a tornado cone forming at the same time.
