  • In typical DASH fashion, I bring you along for some R&D on what may become our next product, a 50” LED light bar to suit our DASH roof rack. Transparency has always been one of our values so here it is, you get to see the good and or bad with this next future product. Not to mention, I say goodbye to “Bucket”, my loved hilux ute.

    not sure if you named the product. but pretty sure it named Travler and carried at tractor supply un US. around 175. US price range and they sell some matching pods or less than 100.00. Great Look. for sure.

    I think they are comparable for sure, spread might be better with Narva though.
    Longevity will be the key with Offroad vibration & jolting but initially the light bar looks the goods 👍

    Have you ever considered fitting Adelaide-manufactured Fyrlyt Nemesis? I have them on the Silverado and my RAV4....bloody brilliant and you don't get blinded when you approach the big green road signs etc. You wouldn't need a roof bar then.

      To be honest I haven’t tested them. All I know is they use quite a bit of power

      @@DASHOffRoad I don't think you'd have any poweer issues with that fantastic battery you have mate.
      I only have a standard battery and alternator in the little RAV4 and we go from Kadina to Balaklava or Clare once a week for dinner with friends. I always use the Fyrlyts on the way home and even though they're 500 watts halogen, they don't make the battery dip below 14 volts during the trip.
      The Silverado is the same, but I have TWO Lithiumax Race9 lithium starter batteries (plus an Amptron in the back for accessories etc) and I also have a 370 amp alternator....so I never expected to have any issues with the Chevy anyway.
      I was a bit worried about how the RAV's electricals would cope, but never an issue.
      Mind you, I wouldn't consider leaving the lights on without the engine running!! That could get messy...in a hurry!!
      BTW, the Race9 batteries weigh in at 4.2kg each and replaced 2 lead acid batteries that weighed 20kg each. The engine fires-up noticeably quicker now too, as the resting voltage of the lithiums is around 13.2v compared to around 12.7 for the twin lead acids.
      Lithium batteries are the only way to go.

    Love the videos. Really clearly explained. What's your trick to keeping the ram suction cups attached?

    • @DASHOffRoad
      @DASHOffRoad  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No trick so far, they just stick 🤷‍♂️

    • @Dorko85
      @Dorko85 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just push them on - and then twist the air lock. However, in hot repeated days you will need to undo the air twist and redo. I generally get 3 months of solid suction before redoing
