Recently a friend of mine made a variation of this game. The pile is composed by the remaining 2 suits. When the round starts, you have to fish 2 cards, but one is flipped over, the other is faced down. By doing this way the game evolves and you're using all the 52 cards
That variation ruins the idea of the game being based on "pure strategy" but definitely makes better use of the entire deck as a two handed game and introduces an element of luck without eliminating the element of skill from the original.
That's a valid way to play, and it might be the original. Three-player card games are decently common and can handle four players if the dealer sits out.

This sounds like a much better version than the original tbh

Interesting, although I prefer giving the remaining suit to a third player.
You can have 2 decks, the face up goes to the winner of the hand, the facedown to the looser. But it add chance to the game, so ruins the purpose
I just stumbled on this channel and quick, clear, to-the-point explainations of various dice/cards game that's so neat I love that!
Yay! My requested game! And the first video tutorial on it!
excellent choice
and you solved this game, too
I usually play GOPS with three players, giving the fourth suit for a player.

@@reillywalker195 3 Player version involves more luck
We made a new variation. We do not open the prize card but play blind. We open the prize card once the bets are played. It is so much fun.
This is actually really fun
Nice & relaxing game. I only found one app but glad I found it. Thanks!!
Still loving duo di zhu!!
Question - Does your hand have to be in order like in the video. Like 1, 2,3,4,5,6,7... So on.
As then u would know what the opponent plays and u could play 1 higher?
You can have the cards in your hand in any order
@@GatherTogetherGames Thanks for clarifying. 👍
Is this game any good for 3 players?
Yes, I've played it with 3.
Yes, it works for 3 players. Instead of putting the extra suit aside and not using it, you give the extra suit to the third player.
3 Player involves more luck
@@djsiddiki3430 why?
Are you allowed to shuffle your hand that you bid with (just so they have no idea what card I'm picking from the start)
Richard Oloton Yes, I never have the cards in order.
@@AyrtonTwigg Oh OK, thanks for helping me out 😊. Sorry for the late reply.
Can Clubs diamonds or spades be used for the prize middle cards or does it have to be just hearts?
Any suit would work.
There’s nothing mentioning that so any

Im 420th like cool vid btw
I don’t get it...wouldn’t everyone always tie? Why would you play anything but your highest card?
you may not want to use your higher cards on lower cards because you may need them when higher cards appear
Thank you andrew! That was my question too lol
I didn't quite understand the scoring, 2 to 10 point how much?
2-10 are face value. For example, a 3 is worth three points.
I like to leave the card hidden, and then reveal it after it has been bet on. It's more fun that way, in my opinion.
What you are saying is game of pure luck. Go play War instead
Also known as GOPS.
SECOND COMMENT
Looks like a faster form of War.
William Lemon And strategy instead of random luck.
