@@Lyris-XVII I know what you're talking about, but that's not for the snare. They did do things like that for a lot of the weirder-sounding percussion bits on this album though.
I interpret this song as describing the war we fight within ourselves in our minds and souls. It’s beautiful.
It was also quite literally about the War in Iraq, because Tom's brother was a soldier in that war at the time this album released.
It was a pointless war that should have ended before it even began, and Tom has been vocally anti-war for decades.
The passion in his voice in the chorus is sooo good
Cried the first time listening to this song. Never been into AVA, huge Blink fan since late 90s, but never gave Ava a try. Change my opinion, ava is criminally underrated!

As someone who has actually been through war at a young age and who has seen what it does to people, they hit the mark with this song. Tom's emotion makes me almost cry because it is exactly what it feels like when you've actually experienced what he's singing about in real life.

Saw them in concert a decade ago, early 20s - now I’m a mum and feel like a different person to that 20 year old. Still love the music though, that doesn’t change!

I love the part towards the end starting from 3:02- 3:22. something special about it to me.
I fucking love this band. I hit many low points and even lowest of the lows (several times) but I found this band at the right time and I'm still here. I wish it was the cure-all to my mental health, but that takes a lot of fucking work and at least I have support 🤟❤️

I remember thinking too "Wow, he sounds quite mature here." He was purposely trying to sing lower and more from his diaphragm which helps, but this was definitely the last record we heard that real trademark Tom pitch.
I’ve never listened to this band, but my teacher likes them and he would play their music in class. After hearing this one a few times I thought it was really catchy and here I am!

I really liked Tom's singing voice not only on this song but on the whole WDNTW album, I sometimes wonder in an alternate universe what it would be like if his singing voice stayed this way for the rest of his life.
