It made mine I bought this album day it came out summer of 06 I was 15 greatest album of all time changed my life how I write music it got me through military later in life it got me through losing best friends great stuff
I'm here turning 33 with the same things. Things too hard, evil and wicked to explain to anyone. But if you have lived it - you know. I hope I will survive my hell. Sending strenght to anyone who relates or is going through hardship of any kind ❤
Just went through the hardest breakup I've ever had to deal with. This song is magical. To everyone out there reading this, it'll get better. Never give up. Never. You can make it. We can make it.
I can retake to this comment more then you think! be yourself be proud of who you are! I lost the love of my life 3 times and me and her have no chance for a 4th change but as long as she is happy with her boyfriend I am all good she was in my life for 3 years): this bad hurts me more then my aunt who got killed by her boyfriend and that really Hurt me! sorry I am getting chocked up!
"There's a field nearby, with words written in stone 'My love will not die, please let it be known.'" ..."I left some words quite far from here to be a short reminder, I laid them out in stone in case they need to last forever." What a clever man. I love this album and its little motifs so much.
It took me a while to realize and figure out he was talking about a cemetery. He also mentions it again in Distraction, “If that field nearby Was still there to be used Would you ever have known? Those words were for you”
I remember the first time I herd this song 🎧 this album was life. Never felt so comfortable being alone. Really helped me find happiness in my sadness. Here I am 15 years later. Still tuning in. For everyone who has had a terrible upbringing and feeling like you never fit in. Know your not alone. Iv been fighting depression my whole life. 😟 some days it comes back.
This song is so beautiful. I’m going through so much in my life right now and this song helps but I cry when I listen to it. Angels and Airwaves is absolutely legendary.
The production on this album is so intricate and beautiful. So much foley and synthesis went into creating these songs, and they feel so delicately layered with dichotomous atmosphere that feels organic yet synthetic - but not in a typical way, it's so specific to this album and I-Empire (though I do like all their albums). The songs themselves are already great, the musicality I mean, but all of the timbre and texture added on top gives these two records such a specific sonic aesthetic. I've always connected with these albums so strongly, the nostalgia is out of control.
@@DV-zv4oxImagine if Jerry and critter made neighborhoods with blink. Neighborhoods is already my second favorite blink album but that might have made it first place. If only they were both alive for that. Critter was involved but only minimally.
Funny how I fell in love with this song, college dorm someone left it on repeat overnight next door, couldn’t even hate that I couldn’t sleep, forever grateful 🙏🏽😅🔥
If you think you need a Grammy for being a good music artist, you've got it wrong. If even 1 person appreciates your music genuinely, that's more than enough than a 100 Grammies
This album is phenomenal! So much emotion in each and every track and so raw yet so damn powerful. It's the typical debut album trend where bands usually produce such killer content during their starting years and slowly manage to make a mess along the way. Their latest album is nowhere near this.
I love many different bands and many different genres but nobody evokes an emotional responce in me like Toms lyrics. They are fucking powerfull and really strike a cord in me 🖤🖤🖤
Never got interested in listening to this track. 15 years later, I realized that I made a huge mistake about ignoring it. Great track and Atom Willard did a terrific job on drums.
I see the stars there, in your eyes. A playful kiss. Can you tell I'm excited? a fast escape in the nick of time if you've lost your wish, can I help you find it? I'm on my knee just one to start. A fresh new start, don't be undecided
"I left the chills and voice the screams of kids and ran for shelter" "you kno i wont say sorry do u kno i wont say sorry the pain has a bad reaction a blend of fear and passion you kno wat its like to BELIEVE it makes me wanna scream." "If love's THE word that you say say it and i will listen" Tom really touches me with creative style of being a grear lyricist
Came here from +44. No hate to Mark, I will admit +44 is a great album, but coming to Angels and Airwaves, I get the feeling that Mark channeled too much bitterness into the album. The sound is good, but every song gave me the same feeling that he simply couldn't get over blink, and tried to pass Tom off as 'that jerk'. On the other hand, Angels and Airwaves is full of positive vibes. You feel the possibilities of life. You feel like the whole wide world is open to you, and you feel like going on that adventure that you have always dreamt of. Tom turned blink's breakup into something positive, an encouragement for all to always persue our dreams, and life is beautiful. Angels&Airwaves didn't cause blink's breakup. Blink's breakup created Angels and Airwaves.
i actually find this album personally speaks to me in a more melancholy way, but that’s probably my taste in the specific songs i like most like the war, this, and do it for me now
i also like +44 as much as this album (neither tops box car racer of course) and i think mark was rightfully bitter, but also upset over the loss of his friendship with tom, and you can hear that in that album. both blink guys were at the top of their game in lyricism at this point
The ash set in then blew away It’s getting lost into the sea I grew so close to all the thoughts I had to leave forever I left the chill and voice of screams and kids and ran for shelter You know I won't say sorry You know I won't say sorry The pain has a bad reaction A blend of fear and passion You know what it's like to believe It makes me wanna scream I see a glow from far away A faint reflection on the sea I left some words quite far from here to be a short reminder I laid them out in stone in case they need to last forever You know I won't say sorry You know I won't say sorry The pain has a bad reaction A blend of fear and passion You know what it's like to believe It makes me wanna scream I see the stars, they’re in your eyes A playful kiss, can you tell I'm excited? I think the same, one of my favorite songs from the first album
Correct.
Most underrated band also.
I wouldn’t say underrated.. where were you in the early 2000s? Or late 90s? Everyone knows Tom will go down as one of the best
@@Marcskis his angels and airwaves work is underrated though.. A lot of his blink stuff is so so... Almost all of AVA is pure brilliance
