We stayed 10 days on the Trace last year and 7 days this year. All on the 3 free campgrounds No big rigs or heavy traffic. Lots of history and great picnic spots as well as waterfalls. Two snakes in one day...OUCH! The northern part is definitely the best part for motorcycle riding. Thanks guys, we enjoyed the video, it took us back down memory lane.
Glad you enjoyed the video! The park is very nice and well maintained. I really like the fact that it wasn't crowded. Looking forward to the next time we go. Thanks for watching!
This was actually a spur of the moment decision to ride it, but I think it gave us a good idea of how to plan for the next time when we ride the entire Parkway. We've been wanting to see Barber's at some point.
Some folks I know (Hawk Girl, which is Misty and Jay Varner) just went for vintage weekend; got me thinking I should plan to ride my vintage bike down there, should have it ready by next year's meet ('73 Yamaha TX500, I'm the original owner, rode it DC-LA and back in 1975).
@hrider9796 It's awesome. Highly recommend going to Barber Vintage weekend. Last year, around 90,000 attended I believe. It was a lot of people. You will see every type of motorcycle you can think of. Big Triumph group attends with demo rides and custom builds.

They had to put fence all along the bridge on the Nashville side because the things they were throwing off of it was themselves. I live close to that bridge and more than once, I have passed there just after someone jumped. It's an absolutely gorgeous, and for those of us with a fear of heights, terrifying bridge.
@@ariesmarsexpress that's sad people are hurting enough to do that. It is definitely beautiful there! Yeah, I can see where it would be scary for people with a fear of heights.
Excellent video! Enjoyed the ride along. Nashvillian here and I ride the north end of the Trace. Always fun as are the country backroads that run along it. Hope you enjoyed your trip.
Thanks! We hadn't actually planned to ride this, so we missed some things we want to see next time we ride it. We definitely want to spend a little time in Tupelo.
It was nice! If we took it just for the road, I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it, but add in all the other things to see and it makes for a good trip.
Nice riding through the big green trees at the start. Ooh scary snake. The bridge is cool riding over the Tennessee River. I wouldn't want to have a house there. Snakes would probably come in at night. Cool trike going by with the trailer. Cypress creek seems nice. The Goldwing was really cool. The Gordon house is tiny. Nice ride on the way home with the sweeping winding roads. The double arch bridge is cool too.
We loved the area! Could've had a little more curves, but other than that, it was nice. I'm not sure why, but I love seeing other bikes out the same time we are. Yeah, definitely wouldn't want a bunch of snakes coming around my house. I did enjoy seeing the bridge. Thanks for watching and commenting
That is a nice stretch of road with a ton of history. Your right about fall being the best time to be on it. You have some amazing colors and no snakes. Everyone's video of them on the parkway in the summer is accompanied with snakes. No way in hell for me and my wife is worse.
Yeah, when we ride it again, I think it will be in the fall. Not a fan of snakes? We didn't see any snakes when off the bike, fortunately. The Mrs wasn't thrilled about seeing them on the bike.
Just a note about the fencing on the double arch bridge - it was because of suicides mainly, not because people were throwing things etc. Sad but true..
Thanks! We were originally going to do it in the spring and had to change plans, but like I mentioned in the video, I think fall would be a good time to ride it.
Nice video! I’m headed there from Virginia in September. I was wondering about the weather through September in the states of Tennessee , Alabama and Mississippi ? Can anyone lend some info?
Thanks! Not sure about the weather in September. The Mrs said fall gets more rain in Mississippi. With that said, Mississippi gets a lot of storms in spring and is unbearably hot in summer, so I think September would be a good time of year. We thought fall time would be nice because of all the trees that line the Parkway.
@@motorcycleden we ran the Cherohala in October through Cherokee through Tennessee to see the fall foliage. Absolutely beautiful ! Not sure if you guys had done that route yet? If you get a chance? I highly recommend it! Thanks for your response and information! Eventually I’d like to learn how to upload my GoPro and edit it and share our experiences with the world ! Y’all ride safe ! 🇺🇸🤘
@pwinters72 we've ridden it, but not if the fall. Would love to, though. We're down in northern Georgia now, and some of these roads are phenomenal! We will definitely be back. Will eventually get the videos edited and uploaded. If you're not already, be sure and subscribe to us so you know when we upload them.

I think if planned properly it can be a great trip! If not, I feel people may not enjoy it as much as they can. We were talking about riding the entire thing next year, too, but I think we are heading to Colorado instead. We definitely want to go back and do the entire Parkway at some point.
Sounds like you are speaking from experience. We've never camped on a motorcycle trip, but if we do, that's good information. I know Boots and Jeans Riders stayed in the free campgrounds there but didn't mention anything negative that I remember.

Nice, thanks for the preview for whenever I finally get there! Maybe next year, we'll see, want to go to Barber and ride the Trace on the way back.

@triumphrider9796 you should! That will probably be a cool event, especially getting to see all the older bikes.

Thanks! We had a great trip. The trace definitely gets better the further north. Busier, too. Appreciate you watching and commenting!
Love the dramatic dread music when you passed a bull snake on the road. ‘aaahhh we’re gonna die!’
The Mrs probably thinks all snakes are deadly. Appreciate you watching and commenting
Excellent video guys! One of our favorite roads for motorcycle 👍🏼
Thanks! Now, to go back and ride the southern half. I definitely want to do it in the fall next time.
Nice video! We rode it back in May Nashville to Tupelo. Loved the history along the way! We visited Elvis's birthplace in Tupelo. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the good video 👍👍
Thanks for watching! We appreciate your support
Very nice ride 👍
Thanks! We enjoyed it, but next time, we'll ride the entire Parkway.
We did the Mississippi end 2 years ago, only had a couple of days in the area so need to go back and finish it.
We weren't going to ride it at all on this trip, but I'm glad we decided to. Now we have a better idea on how to plan for our next trip there.
Just a note about the fencing on the double arch bridge - it was because of suicides mainly, not because people were throwing things etc. Sad but true..
Oh wow! I didn't even think of that. You're right, it is sad. Thanks for the information.
Good video. We plan on riding it sometime.

Plan to stay overnight in downtown Tupelo. It's a cool downtown that has been revitalized.
@HarleyMojoMan777 our original plan included staying in Tupelo. Next time we ride this, we'll be sure to check out Tupelo.

When you find an empty campground maybe it's because some people know more about it than you do. Hmmm...
