Guys a brand new battery was put in the bike, so the old one was taken out which was new anyway - you can see this in the VLOG, then another new battery was put in it - its not a battery issue.
Not sure how live this is, but hopefully its fixed by now. Bloody wierd, even with the new way of starting where you press and release the button, it should go. With luck it will just be aplug in and fix thing. Good luck buddy.
First thing I would do would have the mechanic pull the spark plugs make sure there is no gas or oil in the cylinders from Shipping because gas or oil in the cylinders will make it do that exact same thing second thing would be check relays and fuses of course
Definitely still could be the battery if the cells have been damaged due to it at some stage being completely drained, either in transport or sitting on the shelf to long, it will still sometimes show a standing charge of 12.8 volts with a multi meter, but not have enough cranking amps to kick the starter over.. you will need a battery tester which measures the quality of the cells, they´re not expensive and easy to use .
It's very simple. Danny is child trapped in a man's body. He had the bad case of the "I wants" for that bike and had too have it now, even if it meant going through another dealer other than Collin.

Hi Danny, sorry to see your having an issue. I had the same issue with my 2020 RG with a 131. Long story short was a bad ACR “automatic compression release” for me was intermittent and got worse. I brought to dealer and of course worked for them. I get it home took ride and same crap. Replaced batter and it worked. Wasn’t battery as it was intermittent. I got lucky when I changed the battery. Day after I changed battery did it again. So while at home I noticed the click “ACRs” when ignition turns on was a bit faint. I then placed my finger on the rear and it was weak feeling. Then front was strong. Of course dealer said very unlikely. Never-less I changed it. Had no issues for whole year. The. Same thing happed again but a little different sounding. Well the front ACR went bad. I changed front and have 25k miles since and 0 issues. Just something to consider if all a sudden they say it worked when they had it at shop and did nothing. If they change 1 have them change both. Not worth getting stuck. Good luck and beautiful bike.
Awesome video mate, you’re not the only person who’s having problems with this 2024 model. Must be bloody disappointing paying all that money for a nice new bike and having stuff like this happen.
Many people who have bought the 2024 Road Glide have had electrical issues. There seems to be a short somewhere within the wiring harness. HD has been replacing the complete harness to resolve the issue. Other have had it shut off during riding the new bike. with a new wiring harness the problems have been resolved. Not sure why they do not do a recall and change out the wiring harness on all these bikes. Good luck on getting it on the road.
I agree with your thought of not messing around with it, could be a lemon. Happened to me with an MV Augusta, that I had for not even a year that I couldn’t ride it most of the time until I gave up on it cause MV Augusta dealership didn’t know how to fix the issue why it didn’t start.
I feel for you Danny!!!! UGH!!!!!! That's so frustrating!!!! I really hope the tech is right that it won't be a big electrical problem!!! Fingers crossed for you🤞

Hi Danny. I have been around bikes for fifty years. And I sure it’s only battery connector issue. It’s a very easy fix. Enjoying your videos mate. Keep them coming. 😜.

Many electrical parts were replaced on my new 2022 Harley before I could even ride it. The dealers first attitude was it was my fault. They took a month to repair it only after I said lawyer. Bestest luck, sir
Hey Danny - I've been with you since the beginning m8. I have a Night Rod Special and from new it had issues - went back 8 times before they found a cable tie had cut through a wire to the ABS system. Incredibly frustrating - I get it. It'll be fixed soon and you'll have an awesome new ride 😎
I haven't finished watching this episode but during the first few moments after the battery was charged, I thought: hydro locked. I will continue to see if I was right!😁
A mate had similar problem with a brand new Indian. One thing after another, spent more time in ghe dealership than on the road.In the end binned it off and went back to a Harley....no more problems.
I had a similar problem on my 21 sportster. The battery didn't have enough cold cranking amps for that 1200 high compression engine. Straight off the charger no start. Took it to harley no help. Took battery off my 1985 goldwing and zero issues. Went from 250 cold cranking amps to 375. Did a .50 cal ammo box mod and put that battery in it. LIKE A BOSS!!!

I'm like nope, I am in good health, I'm not rolling where I planned to roll, but I did get rolling again and it was a unique experience as well. All is good when you don't let anything get you down.
First don’t hold the start button down anymore with 24 models just press it once and let go. I’ve seen a lot of no start issues with these models on TH-cam,I think it was a software update to fix it.
No more Colin or stiffy. Wtf? I guess they got sick of your shit. It's a shame because they seem like good people. I have seen many videos on youtube about these 24 cvo having electrical issues. First thing I would have the mechanic do is remove the spark plugs to check for gas or oil in the cylinders from Shipping because gas or oil in the cylinders will make it do the exact same thing and then of course go for fuses and relays
FYI Danny. Here in the states there seems to be reports of wire harness failures. Seems there is a wire harness located in the fairing that is faulty. Multiple reports here on the new ST with those symptoms you’re having. Good luck.
Commenting early, but those CVO’s are notorious for needing software updates flashed to the computer. Friend of mine got the street glide CVO, left her stranded once or twice after 2 updates she’s had no issues so far.
A few things. If it was a flat battery, I would expect the start relay to chatter. Secondly, I suspect a mechanical problem. Maybe, the engine is hydraulically locked due to oil or fuel. Next remove spark plugs and try the starter. Finally, weak starter motor due to electrical fault. Good luck Danny
Danny, I thought it would have been better to get Colin to assist you with purchasing and transporting the CVO from WA to Melb? HD dealer to dealer. Cheers . . . . .
Hi Danny .. I own a 121 Pro_One Dominator and it's a drag engine and I had to change my battery from Lead Acid to Lipo (Lithium) battery.. WAY MORE KICK !!
I suspect That’s a short on a cable, from forcefully pulling it out of the box. I’d did the very same thing before. Painful but you’ll get it sorted. Good luck
Had this exact same issue on multiple bikes, having restored many. That is a lack of power to teh starter motor, it can't draw enough power to turn the engine over. If you've replaced the battery with a fully charged one it will have done two things, one ruled out the most likely battery issue but also reset the system with total disconnect. Check the starter motor connections, failing that use an OBD reader to see if any faults. It may likely be the starter solenoid or motor, only 3 things with all petrol - spark, fuel, compression, and if it doesn't turn over, electric is the thing. Hope that helps.
The 2019 BMW 1200GS had the same issue and it was the tracker they installed. Plus really poor batteries installed and then supplied as new! Hopefully they will get it sorted for you soon pal as I feel your pain as mine took weeks to sort out! I never trusted it after that and went for a newer 1250 which has been great even though I get out on it less now😢
I had a 2019 1250 gs with the issue, they replaced the battery, starter motor and did the valve clearance, had the bike for 11 weeks, in that time I decided to get a new 2022, model, the day I traded it in , still had the same issue, new one is fine.
Checking the error code will give a better idea of what is actually going on. Good luck that is so frustrating especially when you spent good money. Sounds like a grounded wire some where.
Bit of a worry mate, stay calm it will get sorted as long as its gone to a decent HD tech I think theres enough R&D to get it right. I feel your frustration mate, but all good - first world problem. As long as you' ve got your health buddy what else really matters 👍👊😎👊
Curious why Colin isn’t involved? Plenty of comments about this with none being answered. I understand that Albany had the only one left but couldn’t you brought and had shipped to GHD to do the handover etc?
I’ve had zero issues with me new 23 Roadglide-ST since I bought it last year. These new electronic bikes are cheap built junk. Sorry to hear you having trouble.
Random guess (halfway through) the crate has been on one side and engine has oil in one cylinder, remove sparkplugs and see if it will spin without compression.
on your last vlog another bloke reckons his mate was having trouble with a new 24 CVO, Harley tech should learn how to use a multimeter to check the battery and check cranking amps, now I am no mechanic by any means but I own a couple of HDs and I'm a broke ass so working through issues can save me a lot of Harley $$$
That is a shame, nothing more annoying then being hyped up when buying something new and have to take it back for replacement or have it serviced. But i’m sure HD will take care of this issue as they always do when bikes are still in there warranty. ride and stay safe 🙏🏼
I’m going to venture a guess and say it has to do with the automatic compression releases. Voltage sounds good, it’s just coming up against the compression and can’t push past.
Sounds like compression release valve. electronic device that releases cylinder pressure when turning over. They have them on many high compression bikes.
I'm starting to think there might have been a reason old mate cancelled his order. It won't have been the rocking and you've shown it's not the battery. Something else is wrong. But I am glad you have a positive outlook. I'd be distraught if I was in your situation. Personally I'd ask for a refund straight away but I think you're more of a level head than me!
Maybe try pulling the main 50 amp fuse and let it sit for an hour . Plug it back in and try again . I’m super curious as to what’s going on here hope it all works out 👌🏼
In my experience, bike batteries don’t like going flat and being re-charged.Had a few Triumphs with alarms on them which used to eat the batteries if they weren’t left on a trickle charger.Buy a battery jump starter and give one of them a try in the future if something like this happens again. They’re no bigger than your trickle charger nowadays, but if they’ll start a diesel suv,I’m sure they’d spin a Harley over
Guys a brand new battery was put in the bike, so the old one was taken out which was new anyway - you can see this in the VLOG, then another new battery was put in it - its not a battery issue.

sounds like to decompressor is not working to allow it to kick over?
Definitely still could be the battery if the cells have been damaged due to it at some stage being completely drained, either in transport or sitting on the shelf to long, it will still sometimes show a standing charge of 12.8 volts with a multi meter, but not have enough cranking amps to kick the starter over.. you will need a battery tester which measures the quality of the cells, they´re not expensive and easy to use .

I had a 2019 1250 gs with the issue, they replaced the battery, starter motor and did the valve clearance, had the bike for 11 weeks, in that time I decided to get a new 2022, model, the day I traded it in , still had the same issue, new one is fine.
Don’t stress I am pretty sure Harley will do you right and get it squared away. While you wait have some fun.
Checking the error code will give a better idea of what is actually going on. Good luck that is so frustrating especially when you spent good money. Sounds like a grounded wire some where.
I had an almost identical problem on a low rider ST => DECOMPRESSION SYSTEM FUSE FOR STARTING !
Sorry to hear. Very frustrating indeed!
So where's Colin?
on your last vlog another bloke reckons his mate was having trouble with a new 24 CVO,
Harley tech should learn how to use a multimeter to check the battery and check cranking amps, now I am no mechanic by any means but I own a couple of HDs and I'm a broke ass so working through issues can save me a lot of Harley $$$
The bike rode from new can’t be much up with it stuff does go wrong they will fix it. Beautiful bike
Never buy a bike first year it comes out those 2024 are having pure problems Danny but a real badass bike
Very odd rode 500k's then transported, can't be anything to sinister surely. Maybe it has been cursed by a really pissed RoadKing!! 🤔
Probably something simple. Good luck.
They’re no bigger than your trickle charger nowadays, but if they’ll start a diesel suv,I’m sure they’d spin a Harley over
Why no mention of Geelong HD?
bummer. but in the meantime you've got that other wicked cool cvo you just got, that bike is a beauty!
Why… you dropped GeLong and Colin ???
