I was disappointed to find out that the spotify version did not have the car alarm
What the hell? That’s like half the song
I saw them live recently and they used the car alarm
Toyota probably owns the right to the sample lol
add your own..
It’s not in any of the versions
damn this taste nice in my ears
Berd OMg two of my favorite things put together1 TMZ and berd xD
oh its you
At least someone understands what true art is
use your shift button you hipster
Ear snack
You break a car window and these guys show up and start aggressively chasing you around playing louder and louder the closer they get.
1:53
At least I’m jamming whilst being placed under arrest.
Try that in a small town. Here we just shoot the bastard.
The police show up and ask "Did anyone see who did it?" and TMZ all start doing the hand motion at 1:40.
that made me laugh
No one going to comment on how smoothly the cameraman climbed through the front seats of the car?…
I've wondered how this was done for a couple years now, and this is my best guess!
It's a pretty tight bit of choreography! I think that Muirhead (trumpet player) and a second cameraman are in the bed of the truck. At 0:31 you can see the front door opening, and by 0:40 both doors are open. The second cameraman is crouched a bit off to the side and takes the camera as the first cameraman passes it through. There's that LITTLE bump at 0:55 as it's passed off. The first cameraman just has to hide in the car by 1:04 and can re-activate the car alarm on cue (or the person who deactivates it at the end; either could have happened). Also there's two people listed on camera! Nick Maciarz and Chad Hladki!
There's also a couple of different variations that could have happened. Cameraman 2 and Muirhead in the back seat -- but both doors open at the same time, which would be pretty ergonomically tricky from the backseat. I think it's more likely that just the second cameraman could be in the back seat and Muirhead opens both doors. I'm not sure if the second cameraman is to the side or more under Muirhead in the truck, at 0:53 I THINK I see a glimpse of black fabric moving in a different way than the rest of Muirhead, but that could just be a rumple of fabric.
I think this is done in one take, I don't think there's any hidden cuts. I'm studying filmmaking and this was fun to try and pin down! And honestly just as impressive as the camera choreography was the sound! It's incredible!
This isn't exactly what you were asking but I hope you found this interesting!
@@jacobfisher8030 100% love this thanks!
Welp... you did.
I was at band practice today and a persons car alarm kept going off so we were dancing to the beat and then our band director told us about this video lol
Gotta love band directors lol
M4MM0Th mhm definitely :)
And he/she is a fuckin angel for it
It’s a tradition now that after a competition or football game we come back to the band room and play that and the chicken dance
My section leaders boyfriend (He was in marching band last year but graduated) and he has this arranged for us, and the clarinets are the car alarm lmao
If only all car alarms that go off in my area at 6am can be this pleasant
Always cool to see a youtuber I know, commenting on music I like.
Do you realize, the horn alone for 3 mins would completely piss you off too ??
actually watching this at 6 am at saturday
Wild organically coming across TH-camrs I stan in the comments of less popular channels
And then u got outside to check it out and figure out that the sandman the rake and the fucking goat man are waiting outside for u then u just say fuck it. I don’t know what I just wrote. @creepsmcpasta
That bari solos like he just dropped a rap verse.
Devon because it’s more fire than any rap verse dropped in 2018
Yeahhh 🌻
That's the point😂😂
You fuckin normie Leonardo Pellegrino
Small Doggo yes, it is.
I would love to compliment the car for never dropping a beat.

Johnny Sin likely it was passed between 2 people. Amateur stunt videos like with skateboards often do it
I love how it's either two people or, one-man, mega struggling to get across those seats.
There's two camera mans (shot by) listed in the credits, so yea.
I bet that the person that comes into shot is the first camera man.
I’ve never heard an individual rap with a saxophone before
Me, either. Always a drum and records playing never a saxophone. But this sounds so good.
Well that's Leo P for ya....
WE WERE NOT PREPARED FOR HIM TO ACTUALLY RAP
I almost understood the words!
I've never heard a car alarm as an instrument
Happened upon them at a subway station in nyc. Missed two trains while I listened to them
This is all they do?
Anand V.L. I’ve seen them Also in other videos on TH-cam. Think they do this a lot and other stuff involving music. Guessing at least.
Wow what luck! Totally worth it, my opinion
aazhie oh yeah, wasn’t complaining haha. Missed the trains cause I was enjoying it.
Same! I was blown away one day in the subway....
I like how they take the most annoying sound in the world and turn it into a very pleasant sounding one
Have you ever heard a fire alarm?
Yeah
And the alarm isn't even in the Spotify song
This is like the greatest thing ever
I know, right? Outside of TooManyZooz Tenor sax sounds like such trash
The trumpet player is incredible! What a sound.
Come for the Sax; stay for the trumpet.
1:41 i never thought i would hear someone roast me with a saxophone.
Imagine walking on the street and you hear this faint music coming from the top of the building.
i would only think "wtf are they having a party on the roof" ;P
Wouldn't be very faint if you ask me
I would assume this isn't live ;)
@@naughtysecretaryyy i guess the sound on the video isn't but they were probably playing it for real when making the video

The real question is .... who is playing that car? He´s amazing!!

Needs more car bell.
Technically the car is a transformer so it's playing itself, her name is optimus chime though
It's the built in alarm. Usually cars do that when you press the red button on the key.

@@theonlyjonever this genre is kind of new, to my knowledge. Something invented by NYC buskers, is my guess. There's ska, and ska-punk, that has a strong brass element to it. But this here is different, and this band, Buyo, and something moon, are the only other bands that do this specifically, and Leo P (the sax player) has played a hand in all three. Oh. Also, Meute.
These guys don't look like they'd be friends in any other scenario.

He is blasting and overblowing. This isn’t killing it. He is... *ahem*... killing his own chops. Not listenable , not good technique, not easy to do over and over. He’ll pay for it when he can’t play in 3 years. Paying like this is stupid. There’s the right way to play high, and the wrong way. This is an example of the wrong way.

Caleb I think he’s talking about how leo plays, like at 1:40 his solo was pretty damn good, and his hand movements, and his sound.
@@Kevin-ek1su This is a constant struggle between musicians and popular opinions. Pink Floyd, for example, was fantastically popular, but none of the members were great musicians. Bob Dylan is on some list as being one of the greatest singers of all time, yet he is easily one of the worst singers, but a good songwriter. Conversely, some of the best musicians never make it on such lists.
The guy playing around with the bari sax in the video appears to be having fun and people like the music, but he's not demonstrating any great skill. Like the music all you want, but it's not very skillful.

Y’all are one of the most creative bands I’ve ever come across. I’ve never seen anyone solo so well as you guys with only percussion to back you up. And obviously, I’ve never heard anyone make a car alarm sound good, but here we are. Keep doing what you’re doing, y’all. I love it.

first time i ever heard about these guys was when i encountered them playing down by the 7 train terminal platform at Times Sq/42nd St station, i was hypnotized by the way this magic man with the baritone sax could glide around with that massive instrument, playing ever so gracefully and moonwalking like motherfucking MJ at the same damn time. it was at that moment that i knew i would LOVE the rest of their music too! there’s definitely a fair share of both shoddy AND genuinely talented musicians underground (literally AND figuratively) in NYC, but when you’re good enough to make even this apathetic NYer from birth taking the subway home from work take out his earphones to stop and listen...i give you the most props of all. #ZOOZ

Молодцы, оригинально. Случайно услышал вашу музыку, теперь часто слушаю, спасибо.
I thing the alarm of the car is this loud on purpose. When it's start it's juste annoying but if you focus on the instruments sound you ear thé alarm as a rythmic background then when we lose it it doesn't sound greater than before (not sure of my sentence, i keep learning) then when thé instruments stop its annoying again. This music and vidéo is for me more a experience about how to ear sound on différent way. Creative ! I think i love this one more than the Bedford one (but leo on BBC prime stile first) Glad i saw you in Calgary ! Keep going
Tf are you talking about?
@@sadjadfrogh if you focus on their instruments your brain will tune out the car alarm and that will make it quieter to the point of it not being annoying anymore. The moment they stop playing the instruments you can't focus on them anymore and you are reminded that the car alarm is very loud and annoying. (At least i think this is what Valentin wanted to communicate)
you don't need any accent marks, my man. I will now re-write your paragraph as one from that of an anglophone
I think the car alarm is this loud on purpose. When it starts it's just annoying but if you focus on the instruments you hear the alarm as rhythmic backing but then when we pay less attention to it it doesn't sound as loud or prominent (I'm not sure if I am writing correctly, I am learning English) then when the instruments stop its annoying again. This music and video is for me an experience about how to hear sounds in different ways. Creative ! I think I like this one more than the Bedford one (but Leo on BBC prime stile first) Glad I saw you in Calgary ! Keep going!
You are annoying jajaja!!! The music it’s prefect than other shits jajaja sorry...
Plus, if you have an ear for music, you'll notice that the alarm is a dual-tone, playing the root and minor third of the same key TMZ is playing in (minor too).
But its even more than that. I think that the tone of this hellish chant is perfect along the shrill cry of a car alarm.
So basically, it's perfect :)
I felt like I needed to go outside and check my car while listening to this.
I'm in my car.
That scream at 1:51 is me when I find my brother sitting on my bari sax case 😂
want to show my dude down the road that plays sax, never hpme anymore.....🎉😮
I personally love the use of the car alarm as the underlying theme behind the song, and the but where they have to stop because of is cool. I really don't think it's distracting, and that the general balance overall works really well. I don't get everyone saying they couldn't stand it. It's inventive and unique.
I agree that it's inventive and unique, but I still can't stand it. Even the most creative ideas don't really work out all that well. I think it would have been better if the car alarm was either quieter or just part of the intro. But it seems like they were going for a more raw and authentic style by recording everything in one piece, rather than in a studio. So, unless they changed that, they wouldn't really be able to lower the volume of the car alarm(unless maybe they physically altered the alarm within the car). I respect that, they're a street performing group at their core, and I do love the out of the box thinking, but I don't think it turned out that great in my opinion. It was interesting and creative, I will give them that.
Art is meant to make you feel something. This is art.
The tone of the alarm is perfectly in key with what they're playing, and it's reminiscent of a lot of electronic or hip hip music today with repetitive parts.
Alternatively the cacophony of the car alarm makes people feel anxious or something. To hear something like that and put music to it take a unique perspective
Unique doesn't mean it works well. It's horribly shrill. Bet you will never listen to this song again.
JimG joke's on you i'm listening for the third time
JimG
I actually added it to my playlist to not only watch/listen to again but to also show to my friends. That's the nice thing about opinions, sometimes they only apply to a small percentage of people.
This piece is incredible and totally makes sense to me. I'm sure this probably came about because at one time or another (I'm guessing often) they've had to improvise around a suddenly blaring car alarm. I mean, some buskers would have stopped playing but they figured out how to make art with what would otherwise have been an annoying experience for everyone present. That's my guess, anyway.
If you put this in the context of the environments in which these guys perform, it's genius. It's music, they wrote it, why shouldn't they have it showcased in the manner (and the volume) they want to?
originalzombie1974 thats true but that doesnt mean they cannot be criticized because 1: this is youtube what did ya expect and 2: freedom of speech.
Hm

Sometimes... the sequel is better... these guys rock, but I think Big Blitz did it better...
Maan, that trumpet was perfect. Also, the distortion/clipping effect on the loudest/highest notes is gorgeous.
