I believe there is a way to avoid the exp for killing enemies. I noticed while playing a tavern brawler build that when i throwed my Returning Pike from very high up, if the enemy died from the crushing damage instead of the normal weapon damage, it would appear in the log that the enemy "fell to its death", without actually giving me any exp. I killed the Bulette without getting any exp because of this and it happened with many others enemies as well. I was kinda pissed with this bug when it happened to me, but it should make possible to kill orin and gortash without getting the kill exp.
Oh? I failed to notice that. I did notice that if you have the Elixir of Bloodlust active, you don't get the extra action for killing something if the enemy dies because of the crushing damage, which was also very annoying.
Lovely playthrough Bouch. I really do miss the simplicity of the backpack glitch Edit: ok that oubliette wall skip + pixie teleport tech is wild I've added them to my notes
Commoner% playthrough: All stats in 10, no class features, no skill proficiency, no armour proficiency, only weapon proficiency is club (Or simple weapons, if we're feeling generous). Literally just become the commoner statblock
maybe potions could be allowed? you would be able to use and considering a commoner would need to go through the same journey as Tav, I think it's fair they can use it. Elixirs may be a bit too much though.
stats might have to be even lower. 10 strength means you can run around with a 150lb backpack for a full day without it affecting your speed or stamina 😭 an average joe would have like 3-5 strength lol
It might be painful, but what about an absolutely 0 magic run. Like no spells, scrolls, items, etc. I think it’d be pretty cool to see what just the classes can do
Oh glad I read this clarification before I replied hah, I was about to just be like "that's easy just titanstring bow and get 20 Dex then use club of hill giant for 19 str and then go dunk on every monster in the game as an assassin/gloomstalker" If we're excluding magic items entirely though... fun fact: when you kill a creature with thrown weapon's falling damage you actually dont get any exp. i think that could reduce how much exp you get from the gith. you would probably need to stack boxes though in order to be high enough for falling damge. same probably goes for gortash or maybe even the netherbrain. in comparison to the 8k total its barely anything though. great vid as always!
I appreciate the fact that you did this run this way instead of just the normal Level 1 run. Made this very enjoyable to watch since it was the same old strats used by so many people already. Keep up the fantastic content Bouch!
When doing the Pact of the Blade's Pact Weapon exploit for money, you don't have to Barter. You can just go onto the Trade menu, and just spam "Sell Wares", if you've made your Pact Weapon into Wares. (Which you can do by Shift/Ctrl clicking it with another item, and then right click them to turn all of the items selected into Wares, including the Pact Weapon) Makes it MUCH quicker than putting it into Barter, and then putting the money from them into Barter. And still definitely works in Patch 7. Additionally, when you respec to reset trader's inventory, it also works when you level. So if you respec, and reset the inventory while lvl 1, you can just buy out what you want, and even while next to the trader, just level to 2, and then cancel leveling after that, so you can buy out stuff at lvl 2. And then go to 3 to do the same. Saves on time, basically. Better than having to go and respec EVERY time. :'D (Additionally helpful/faster if you have allies and/or Hirelings to lvl as well)
The functionality of the Act 2 to Act 3 transition area is pretty complex. But if you actually do the usual Nightsong event and fight Ketheric on top of the tower before entering the colony, from that point, you can use the bell trick to teleport out and then walk out the exit to Act 3.
I would love this to become the BG3 version of the Minimum Captures challenge in Mario Odyssey where lots of people work to bring that number lower and lower 😋
Can you beat Baldur's Gate without dice rolls (as in ability checks, attack rolls, damage rolls , saving throws, etc). I don't think its possible to beat the whole game but i would like to see how far could you could get, or the lowest number of rolls possible.
after thinking about this some more, it may be possible due to the existence of spells like armor of agathys, and spells that require the enemy to make saving throws. passive rolls will be the most annoying part of a run like this though
@@jasonlu9562 Since BG3 doesn't do proper initiative, it could be a "No D20 rolls" run. For those that don't know, BG3 initiative is rolled on a D4 instead of a D20.
If that allows the use of satchel bombs and such, I feel like it won't be a big difficulty, considering how many you can get. At one point, someone on the BG3 Wiki wanted to undertake a project documenting how much EXP everything in the game gives. This video gives many, MANY good examples of the struggles of attempting such a thing 😂 Thank you for making this video!
Watching you carry Gortash like an angry cat out of Wyrm's Rock to throw him off a cliff in an attempt to avoid extra XP gain for killing him was so goddamn funny even though it didn't work
It's not a "challenge run" per-se but i'd like to see a radiating orb/holy lance helm run where you can only do damage with the holy lance helm and subsequent procs off of its damage.
Just Subbed. Have another challenge idea for you. This also involves Gale. "Can you beat Baulder's gate III with a dead Gale in your inventory". Whenever possible, Gale must be dead in your inventory. You may resurrect him via Withers to ward off his arcane hunger. The challenge starts after the prologue. You must then B-line your way to his waystone as soon as you wake up at the beach.
Video idea: "Can you beat the game by having absolutely empty inventory, being stark naked and having no weapons, light sources or musical instruments equipped from the get-go except from those items that are super-duper-mega necessary and incircumventable for progressing the game"?
I have a heinous idea. Can you beat Baldur’s Gate 3 without ever engaging in combat? Two rules. You may never actively hurt an enemy (allies you don’t control can though) and you cannot enter combat unless forced.
I know I've brought up these challenge runs before, but hey. For the algorithm is my excuse. 1) If you remove spells but keep weapons, but only allow each weapon type to be used in one fight. Can you still manage to beat the game? 2) Can a party of Jack of All Trades (all 1 level in every class) beat the game? (without spell scrolls). I guess cheese would allow you to overcome anything, but how little can you cheese while doing something like these? Love your content btw.

Baldur's Gate 3 as Durge except you have to kill literally everyone you possibly can. It doesn't have to be as soon as you meet them, but Durge has to party alone at the end of the game.

In act 3 things become a bit different, because EB gets the 3 blast, so Spellmight Gloves add 3d8 vs 2d8 with ray of frost, fully loaded Rhapsody adds 9 damage to EB vs 6 to Ray of Frost, same with Callous Glow Ring +6 to EB vs +4 to Ray of Frost, BUT, on the other hand- Ray of Frost has significantly higher base damage- 3d8 vs 1d10, it still adds charisma 3 times to EB's 2 times, and you have Markoheshkir's "Kareshka's Favour" to add another 8 damage that you can't get with EB since it only works with elemental damage types, and force is not an element. Yes, to use both Rhapsody and Markoheshkir you need dual wielder feat, and preferably also Elemental Adept, since there are *some* enemies resistant to frost in act 3 (and there is no bottle of water or create water to fix that) which you don't need for EB build, but you can get 20 charisma with just 1 feat (base 17+1 from ethel's hair and +2 from ASI) and you have 3 in total, so sure, EB can get lucky, alert, or spellsniper feats instead, but total charisma stays the same in both cases. In total Ray of Frost still deals more damage overall (3d8+x*3+1d8+2+3+4)*2=94 (on average, assuming 1d8 is actually 5 not 4.5 because elemental adept turns all 1's into 2's) vs (1d10+x*2+1d8+2+3)*3=81 Sure, all 81 average damage of EB can be put into a single enemy, 94 is always split between the two, BUT, you can also quicken the Ray of Frost, meaning that you *CAN* hit someone with the ray of frost twice per turn and deal that 94 to that enemy, while also dealing 47 to someone else at the same time, for a total of 141 average damage per turn, without any speed potions, zeratul (forgot the name, you know what I'm talking about) or bloodlust elixir shenanigans.
You should try a run where you cannot heal at all, no short rest, long rest, and spells. All forced healing could be reverted through having party members lower it in camp. Something like that seems pretty hard to me.
This is actually a challenge run I've attempted myself (although I also set the goal to get to the post-game party and didn't solo it because I just don't have the skill for that and didn't want to cheese it). It's been awhile but I think I just barely got to level 7 with the defeat of the Netherbrain which is upsetting considering I could've probably finished at level 6 if I didn't recruit for a full party or picked a different background for less inspiration gain
Can you beat Baldur's Gate III while being completely naked? You're not allowed to pick up or use any permanent item or equipment except the story related ones like the prism or the stones, even if acquired through the use of spells (Like divine intervention. Temporary weapons like Flame Blade are allowed.) This should be as insane or even more than this run

You should try a run where you cannot heal at all, no short rest, long rest, and spells. All forced healing could be reverted through having party members lower it in camp. Something like that seems pretty hard to me.
A bit confused... where did helmet come from you didn't seem to have it before Mountain Pass and then it suddenly equiped already
Wake up, babe. New Bouch vid just dropped!!
"I make videos to post online so I don't have to interact with people"... is so real 😂
Video idea: can you beat BG3 without ever looking at your screen? Literally blind playthrough
Idea: Beat the game while permanently poisoned
Challenge idea 'can I beat Baldur's gate with only using undead'
At this rate, he’s gonna do it without breathing
We would watch you do a challenge on any game
beat baldurs gate but you HAVE to kill every living thing you see
Can you beat Baldur's Gate III while being completely naked?
You're not allowed to pick up or use any permanent item or equipment except the story related ones like the prism or the stones, even if acquired through the use of spells (Like divine intervention. Temporary weapons like Flame Blade are allowed.)
This should be as insane or even more than this run
God you have the greatest video-editing skills ever. So improve them!!!
2d'ly,,, love your voice. Don't change it except as you deem fit.
Th3rd'y,;, I decided to make this comment right after 20:17 on your video, so whatever you did right before that, triggered the comment. Now that's important data, no?
4thly, I'll get to that after I uh y'know whatever
Oh my gawd he’s back
Can you do a maximum possible xp playthrough? It'd be super interesting to see how much you can get and what level you could possibly get to if not capped at 12
Try and beat Bg3 with only you and 1 companion (no summons either)
Great playthrough. Super interesting to see. Unfortunate you couldnt get the act 2 boss skip. I wonder if there is any way to minimise the XP gained from the stones by stealing them from the dev-only area?
Bro is the DMs biggest Opp
You can use knock on the bhall door to open it without durge or bhall necklase.
I’m concerned for your sanity
