i tried to soften up my old tiempo legend 5s with the hot water trick and the hard bit of plastic underneath the insole started to separate and come off. Wouldn't recommend it.
Look at boots with plenty of rivets or lots of stitching holding the soleplate together. They're usually on older boots such as Mizuno Morelias/Copas. I've got a really old pair of Umbro Speciali boots with thick, heavy stitching all around the edge of the soleplate & they're like mini tanks & have lasted me years :)
Just buy some blister tape, stick a small amount on as possible to cover the affected area (make sure it is on tight) and then, providing it stays on, your problem will be solved. If it hasn't you are doing something wrong as it worked for me and all my friends and even for my dads running shoes.
good vid again. got a pair of hypervenoms today, looking forward to try them. don't think there will be any break in time since the material is so soft. nice bayern training shirt btw!
Hi I Josh, I will be breaking in my new copa mondials. I will be using them mostly on artifical grass. This is my first time owning a copa mondials. I have wide feet, and have some pressure points on the sides. I will try to follow your tips on not using any high intensity activity on them and see how it goes. As a back up a I have my Nike tiempo genio turf boots just incase I get any discomfort. Ps: the size on copa mondial is 9 US, while the tiempo is 10.5. I know it's crazy. Any more tips on breaking the copa mondial.?
Josh , if I had been wearing my LZ for about 10 times already but it still hurts my toe ( I chose smaller size than my actual size). Should I still wear this boot? Will it expand more to my foot?
Im cm 25 - 26, I bought 2 daya ago a pair of hypervenoms on 26, they are about .5 cm bigger, on the back I used normal socks which cover my acquilles tendon area but still males a blister
I was thinking of the hot water trick but due to the risk(s) I chose not to. Will stuffing the cleats with something stretch them?, I did but am waiting to see result.
Really helpful video, just one quick question. I´ve had my pair of Nike Superflys for about 3-4 years now and since the last few months everytime i play with them, I end up getting blisters and really bad ones. Do you think is just about time i replace them or what should i do?
Vujo can you please leave links for the annotations in the description too because i watch most of your videos on mobile and annotes dont come up for me
Josh, I recently have been breaking in a pair of Black Pack Tiempos. Everything was amazingly confortable except the heel, I got bad blisters on my heel and putting bandaids on just made them worse. What do you recommend?
Hey Josh! I own the Predator LZ, and the right shoe fits great...but the left shoe just isn't big enough...I get blisters each time I wear them, even though I have already broken them in...what do I do?
Hey man, so i just purchased a pair of messi 15.2s, and i was wondering how i should break them in, i have read that the hot water trick could be done but it seems risky, they are still in the box and im tempted to try them out at a park field. Any suggestions how to break them in? Thanks, nice vid. liked and subscribed.
i just bout mv9s in my local soccer shop i am a goalkeeper and have never tried this style before in goal had my first training session today and they really work but they are very tight my feet have stopped growing and i am just wondering if this is a bad or good thing to have tight boots?
Josh, what can I do to my shoes when the upper separates from the soleplate (esp. near the toe)? I've worn 3 pairs of MV8, and they all did this in around 3 months, and then I bought the Hypervenom Phantoms and they did the same thing AND the upper ripped along the side, in just one month. Today I'm going to buy a pair of Tiempo Legend IVs because I have try-outs in around a week and I need boots. I love how those boots feel, but what can i do to stop them from separating? :(
I bought a pair of hypervenom phinish and wondered how to break them in. Can u help me please. I need about half of a thumb for them to fit perfect. They're size 9 US. Thanks
+Soccer Reviews For You How about hypervenom phelons, they are quite tight but they don5 hurt, they're just a bit uncomfortable, i haven't really broke them in, they're still brand new, any advice?
I'm stuck in between size 13 & 14 shoes. I recently bought Nike Hypernevoms 2 days ago. I'll be joining a soccer team. So I bought a size 13 , and they fit well , but there kind of stiff on my heel , and in the front. I can wiggle my toes a bit but not much. How exactly would I break them in ? Help please
Got Nike Tiempo Legend 6 today newest version and I ordered normal size 45 1/2 and I panicked cause they were so stiff and I thought they were somehow too small but now they're forming better and Im going to sleep with them XD
hey josh I got my messi f50 bluragara. I am trying to break into them, but there is a lot of pain in the midfoot. also the leather on the upper under the laces folds. Will this be solved after i break it.
Arun thekillakangaroo The upper is synthetic, not leather. They're new, so it isn't uncommon to feel slight discomfort t first. The upper creasing is also totally normal.
I have wide feet any recommendation as to which shoes I can get I have a gr8 pair of Nike's for Indoor, and a great pair of Adidas for artificial…. But it seems like all the outdoor football shoes/Cleats have a very narrow structure…. nice video!
I have a pair of the Evospeeds and it's way too slim but the others seem like good options….. Thanks a lot….. The only annoying thing is i'm a very fast winger who dribbles a lot and uses skill moves and all and I want some shoes that are for fast ballers but I think they're all slim that ones that are made for pace But anyways I really appreciate your help….. I'm currently using Adidas Nitro Charge 3.0 which has been descent…. I think I'm going to have a custom made pair...
what if the shoe is small and tight? what is the fastest way to break in beside wearing them and avoiding the blisters which will lose in it up in couple days...?
+Elias Vøllestad No. That's help dry your shoes out if they get really wet. The newspaper will absorb some of the water/moisture and allow the shoes to dry a little more quickly. You don;t really want to stretch your shoes while your feet aren't in them.
hi Josh, do you have any idea what type of cleats i should get if i have wide feet? i just got a pair of Nike Hypervenoms but theyre a little tight, and they arent the ones with the soft foot hole like i have currently. help? thank you!
Josh if I break in my absolados will the material get thinner? They are comfortable but for me the touch on the ball feels awkward because of how thick the material is... Any suggestions?
I bought a pair of magista onda online last year, but the upper is quite stiff and it hurts my foot. I'm considering on buying a higher level maybe the magista opus but i'm afraid if it is just the same feeling on foot. What do you recommend? Since the price will be about the same, which nike model should i buy according to softness of the upper? Or should i go with a different brand? Thanks :)
I would go with something nom synthetic. I would go with tiempo for nike. 11pro for adidas. In my opinion joma makes some of the highest quality cleats. They are all calfskin leather, even the $40 ones
I have had such bad blisters on my big toes over the years from all the boots that I have wore that the skin on them is basically as tough as my toe nails... so problem solved really :)
I have a pair size 9 #therewillbehaters Adidas f5s and on my little toe it feels really tight and it hurts to move, any suggestions on how to fix this?
i tried to soften up my old tiempo legend 5s with the hot water trick and the hard bit of plastic underneath the insole started to separate and come off. Wouldn't recommend it.
Yes. I always powder my feet before putting my socks on, helps absorb some of the sweat/smell

Congrats Josh! Great video, everyday getting better and better in these. Keep it up!

Take/send them back to where you bought them and see if you can swap the left shoe for one a half size bigger.
Thank you for replying Josh and my boot got about half a thump of growing room like you said.
I have bought the new hypervenom phinish and they feel quite stiff.
good vid again. got a pair of hypervenoms today, looking forward to try them. don't think there will be any break in time since the material is so soft. nice bayern training shirt btw!

Great vid Josh!
I was thinking of the hot water trick but due to the risk(s) I chose not to.

Josh can u remove the insoles from the copa mundials? And could I use 2 insoles at once
you can, but you have to rip them out. I assume you're trying to get custom orthotics in?
Josh, I recently have been breaking in a pair of Black Pack Tiempos. Everything was amazingly confortable except the heel, I got bad blisters on my heel and putting bandaids on just made them worse. What do you recommend?
josh, culd you a comparison between the adidas predator lz 2 and the predator absolin
Can you please make a review of chin pads ? like small, wide, long etc :)
Josh what would you recommend to do on the field with the cleats should i juggle with it? What type of drills to you suggest to break the cleats in?
Juggling is a great way to get to break in and get used to new boots.
What's a good training pant? I'm having a hard time finding a good pair
A bit random, but where do you store all your shoes
Can you do a review on the new f50 blackouts
Hey Josh! I own the Predator LZ, and the right shoe fits great...but the left shoe just isn't big enough...I get blisters each time I wear them, even though I have already broken them in...what do I do?

i have Adidas predators and they dont really change anything it fells the same when i wear trainors.
how can i make it better?
no dont do it on f50. the hot water trick should not be done on any boot except superfly as they are very stiff from right out of the box
4:08 Josh did u mean until they stop being UNcomfortable?
I'm stuck in between size 13 & 14 shoes. I recently bought Nike Hypernevoms 2 days ago. I'll be joining a soccer team. I have wide feet any recommendation as to which shoes I can get I have a gr8 pair of Nike's for Indoor, and a great pair of Adidas for artificial…. But it seems like all the outdoor football shoes/Cleats have a very narrow structure…. nice video!
No budget…. so best of the best!… I'm using adidas f-30 try fg… and they are way to narrow… always have bruises on my feet just from wearing them!
Jay Jay Puskas Quaresma If you're looking for something with a wider fit, go for a boot with a leather upper. The Nike Premier is a great option.
Nice1 really appreciate it!
Jay Jay Puskas Quaresma Evopower, Predator Instinct, Evospeed or Hypervenom can also be a option! :)

I have the liquid diamond size 8 and there really tight but have lots of room in the toe how can i break them in
Majak Buoi You break-in shoes by wearing them. I talk about that in the video.
what if the shoe is small and tight? what is the fastest way to break in beside wearing them and avoiding the blisters which will lose in it up in couple days...?
+ray tanayan If the shoes are too small, then they're too small, end of story. That's why they make different sizes, so you can get the proper fit.
+Soccer Reviews For You thanks you for the help keep making videos
I wore two insoles in my old adiPowers and there were no problems that arised.
ive heard stuffing the shoes with wet newspaper over the days stretches it and helps you breaking in. Is that true?

I have a pair size 9 #therewillbehaters Adidas f5s and on my little toe it feels really tight and it hurts to move, any suggestions on how to fix this?
Ashton James There isn't much you can do to fix it. Sounds like you're having an issue with the fit/shape of the boot, which you can't really change.
Ashton James I've had the same problem in narrow boots, and basically my feet (and possibly yours) are too wide. So I use leather boots nowadays.
Is it bad if your fore foot starts to hurt when you wear your cleats
+Nyeyuugen III Sure. Your shoes shouldn't be causing you pain.
