I really think we need to consider now that this could also come from Vekoma. I don’t think this resets the coaster clock either. I think 2025 is still possible for a KI thrill coaster

Vekoma will definitely be a leading manufacturer in the US by the next few years. They got so many coaster types that fit a lot of these US parks so I can not wait to see what they do!
In a sense, they never left--so many of their old janky rides are still around, sometimes getting makeovers to improve them with Vekoma's assistance, and Disney never stopped working with them.
That would be great Veokoma tends to make things cheaper and they really improved their reputation. It would be nice to see some of their thrill coasters in the United States of America.
Um Cedar fair only has four parks that they give a crap about. I'm officially done with kings dominion....they may as well CGA or GL the place. Let's face it cedar fair ONLY wanted KI but had to take ALL five parks in a package deal or n othing at all. Looks like BGW gets my money from now on that is until they too suffer the same fate as SFA and KD since have as the two former parks in the region should just be scrapped.

I'm glad Holiday World and Kings Island are getting a Family Boomerang in 2024. I live in Kentucky and Holiday World is only 1 hour 30 minutes away and Kings Island is only 2 hours away. Hopefully I'll get to experience both in 2024 along with Top Thrill 2 at Cedar Point.
For the parks with higher attendance, racing family boomerangs are always an option, similar to what Movie World in Australia is installing in their Wizard of Oz land. Arguably Movie World didn't need the racing version, but it's not a bad thing they're doing it. Gives it more visual impact too
Lol the maintenance thing being that I’m from Colorado with Elitch gardens has poor maintenance but the boomerang is still running smooth all seems to be the only one I see open all day on my now one a summer trip
I think a lot of KD fans would feel very jipped if our next addition was a family boomerang. Considering we still have not gotten the replacement for Volcano, and that leaves a glaring hole in the parks line-up atm.
Them working with new vekoma opens up a very real possibility that we could get a flyer in 2025 for our 50th anniversary. It would be launched and be inversion focused while having a unconventional ride car that allows for something unique compared to BGW.

A Vekoma Tilt coaster would look realllllly nice in the Vortex plot of land. But this is really exciting, the possibilities between the two companies are truly endless and I truly do hope it’s only the beginning. So glad to see the US get more and more modern Vekomas!
I think this coaster is gonna be a really good fit for KI. And I am so impressed with the reimagining of Planet Snoopy in this area!! The color schemes, the landscaping...the look of it all is very appealing. And being near the log flume ride, it just seems like it is all going to blend in really well and be very aesthetically pleasing.
Considering Knott’s just removed their kids coaster in their Camp Snoopy, along with removing additional adjacent attractions, there’s a fairly sizable space just sitting there. I have to think it’s another coaster of some type coming as I don’t believe they would take out a kiddie coaster for just more flat rides. And when it comes to KBF’s Camp Snoopy, capacity is never much of a consideration as the area is compact and is pretty much nothing but low capacity attractions. Red Barron. A Frog Hopper. Huff N Puff, a notoriously slow loading Ferris wheel..it seems capacity is not a factor at all really. 😂

Vekoma family boomerangs is the very good kind of coaster. There is a coaster in Vietnam that about 10 years old and the only thing happening to it is they move it to the new park next to it. It still so smooth and enjoyable 😅
I think that with iron menace going to dorney the chances of a dive coaster at KI are lower and we could definitely see a new gen vekoma coaster in the vortex plot or something similar.
Hopefully on top of repainting it, Kings Island decides to replace the train on Flying Ace Aerial Chase with the newer family suspended train Vekoma has been using on their newer models
KI is my local park (I'm 10-minutes away), as someone with small kids (36"), this is a wonderful addition. Planet Snoopy is severely lacking (most of the stuff has been there since I was a kid 30 years ago), and in need of refreshment. In regards to the kids coasters, you have The Great Pumpkin (36"), Woodstock Express (40"), Surf Dog (42") and Flying Ace (44"). I'm hoping the 38" requirement is correct, and if so this will fill that void. I do kind of wish they went more Big Bear Mountain type (longer ride). This seems like quiet a short ride, and I'm REALLY hoping it's a switch-track because if it's just one train the wait times are going to be plain stupid. I can't wait to ride this with my kids next year.
I live by Dorney Park and it severely needs this. Hersheypark and Great Adventure have their own line up of family coasters and Dorney just has 1. Also, we need Dorney to finally reach 10 coasters again. Outside of the dive coaster, Dorney Park needs a modern wooden coaster, a family coaster, and another type of launch coaster.
This could be huge for Valleyfair and Michigan’s Adventure. Valleyfair could get the family boomerang and stc combo that Tripsdrill got. That would add a junior/family coaster that they don’t have much of and would add a modern inverting coaster. Michigan’s adventure could add something like lech coaster that would also be a modern looping coaster and some steel airtime.
Vekoma was my prediction about a year ago to become Michigan Adventures next big coaster, because like you said one like lech overseas would be perfect for the park. So now I'm giving a 75% chance its actually there next major coaster. And the cost was like 12 million when it was built. When we got thunderhawk it cost the park 10 million, which makes it's possible. This is my home park and if something was built similar to lech it would boost attendance like crazy. History does show every year at Michigan Adventures opened something major, the park had record attendance!
It reminds me of Cedar Point testing out Zamperla for the Wild Mouse before confirming them for the Top Thrill 2 gig. Hopefully it will mean for some Vekoma thrill coasters in the future

I wonder if Knotts berry farm will get one. About a month ago they removed their kiddy coaster in Camp Snoopy called Timberline Twister along with a flat ride right next to it with absolutely no warning. The empty plot right now could fit a family boomerang. I thought this would happen even before i heard about Kings Islands new addition, so now im fairly convinced this is what will be added.
These family boomerangs are popping up all over the place, even in our own little Emerald Park in 2024. It will fill a huge gap in the lineup there too!
With alll the hype and mystery surrounding Top Thrill 2 at Cedar Point and Iron Menace at Dorney Park, it would be fair to say that not a single one of us saw this coming.
Yep, with Knott's, Rewind Racers at Adventure City is literally down the street (still off Beach Blvd!) in Anaheim. If they get a family-ish coaster, a smaller version of Big Bear Mountain replacing Jaguar! would be *perfect* there. (Just with a theme that's not too similar to Disney). As for CGA, if they strike a deal to spin off part of the dry park (including GoldStriker) as a FEC, then I could see Cedar Fair add a Vekoma SFC as a condition of that deal. Especially if they close Grizzly & Demon a few years before the rest of the park.
I just saw that Santa's Village up in northern NH is going to be replacing their old Zierer Tivoli, Rudy's Rapid Transit (similar to Catwoman's Whip at SFNE) with a Vekoma family coaster called Midnight Flyer. Seems like neo-Vekoma is making its big entrance into American parks with a lot of these family rides.
I would love to see new gen Vekoma at a lot of places… maybe a STC at valley fair… a multi launch in the volcano plot at KD… anything at six flags America. If big bear mountain is any indication, Vekoma is capable of world class attractions. I am excited.
They've been putting out major coasters for Disney ever since the 1990s, and these are good rides. Disney Imagineering gets a lot of the credit, but the coasters themselves are decent rides and often incorporated innovative elements.
I mean honestly, you two have amazing chemistry, you are easy to listem to, and interesting. I am saying with 100% certainty that you guys have a successful future ahead of you.
Glad that you guys over in teh states are starting to get these coasters. I took my 3yr old on Velociraptor at Paultons Park and he loved it! Made me take him on like 6 times in a row XD Interesting to see what this obvious Vekoma / Cedar Fair relationship is gonna bring in the future!
This is a stepping stone for Vekoma. No doubt we will see a larger scale sooner than later. Who knows. That larger scale could be Vortex's replacement.
And given how quickly CF moved from Wild Mouse to TT2 with Zamperla, it doesn't seem they need a super long runway to give someone new a big opportunity.

I had the same exact thoughts when Kings Island announced the coaster this morning. This is definitely a test for Vekoma from Cedar Fair to see just how well this coaster performs overall. And, like you guys mentioned, this could be a two-for-one deal from the company. I do agree though that this likely means a Vortex replacement is further down the line than originally anticipated.
I'm happy as I just don't want to see anymore boring b&m rides at cedar Fair. And this brings hope that maybe a version of f.l.y. can come to the US too
If an American Park has the balls to build the Hyper Vekoma that Energylandia regret getting (Hyperion is a maintenance nightmare according to Energylandia's CEO), I would love to see one opening. I mean -1.10 G's in the Vekoma layout on the airtime hills....
I like this Coaster for KI as they thrive to continue to be one of the best Kids Parks which keeps the rest of the Park's lines down some for the older thrill seekers. Just anxious to see what goes in that former Vortex area!!!
Definitely assumed KI would be getting an addition to the Snoopy area this year since they usually don't add a new coaster at CP and KI in the same year, and TT2 is at CP. But the Vekoma angle was interesting and opens up some new options, particularly for that old Vortex plot.

I am very surprised that kings island went with a coaster in 2024 and everyone suspects that 2025 or 2026 for the big launch coaster so could they get them in back to back years or 2 in 3 years?
Maybe that will be for 2025. Either that or a new waterpark attraction for Soak City because they just took out Pipeline Paradise last season and haven't added anything new since 2016 with Tropical Plunge.
You talked about the double discount. What happens if this is the first of two. Maybe we get a vekoma for the replacement of vortex and maybe just maybe it is also going to replace Firehawk as well.
Since the opening of Fœnix at farrup i had this thought that new gen vekoma would have their sucess and that it would only be a matter of time. Think about how many medium sized parks would benefit from either a new gen looper or a family coaster.
Accelerator at Drayton Manor is not a Rebound, it doesn't have the same layout. Rebounds can be recognized in that they are compact and that they have their lifthill and spike in opposite directions instead of coasters like Raik, Tweestryd and Accelerator.
I want a wing one like gatekeeper 😢 or something crazy like X2 for the vortex I miss that coaster so much it was my favorite all cause it looped so much
I have a feeling KI is getting gonna get a second Vekoma thats gonna be a thrill coaster in the Vortex plot. I think this is a two for a percentage off deal....I feel like Cedar Fair is trying out other manufacturers to save money ie (Cedar Point) going with Zamperla for the Wild Mouse and then for The Top Thrill upgrade....I won't be surprised if a Vekoma Multi launch goes next to fill in the Vortex space!
I was expecting a family coaster within the next 5 years at KI, not next year. But, that is great. They did for a long time have the Best Kids Area award. Maybe they will get that back in the near future. It looks like a major thrill ride in the Vortex plot may be 2 or more years away. Like you guys said, they like to build up hype for a year for a major attraction. So many options for the next big coaster. Fans want a ground up RMC SOB2, or a revisited Vortex that could be from many different manufacturers.
I am sure cedar fair already signed a multicoaster deal. I would suspect it to be 3 to 5 for a decent discount. It can be over multiple years parks and models. Hoping for a large multilaunch in vortex plot

Valleyfair would respond well to a Boomerang. It’s been talked about for a while now as it would make for a roller coaster that parents would be able to ride with their kids which is a big issue at Valleyfair as even High Roller, which is in Planet Snoopy, doesn’t give a family-friendly ride experience for kids and parents. It would help greatly! And it’s a new coaster so…
I would love to see one of their modern flyers (like F L Y) come to Cedar Point. They have many good options now. I wouldn't be mad at another thrill model. Unfortunately with TT2 and Wildmouse opening in back to back years I don't think well see anything else new until at least 2027.
Hello i m from the Netherlands and i follow Vekoma on their journey from old to new age Vekoma this is for me the greatest news ever two announcements in like 2/3 days for a new age Vekoma. And i really hope that Holiday World get on with build with Vekoma and then a trill coaster like Fønix the Wildcat model. Of like Lech Coaster the Bermuda Blitz model without inversions but only crazy airtime and i have a cool name for that type of Vekoma coaster the Hyper Blitz. Its like a extreme Mega-Lite from Intamin but with a beyond vertical drop like Lech Coaster but with the airtime hills only layout like the Mega-Lite's from Intamin but with the new age Vekoma twist. Of a Vekoma Hyper coaster like the concept for Energylandia
I’m really hoping the Volcano replacement for Kd is a new gen vekoma flying coaster. It would definitely fit the park well while also being a worthy replacement for volcano.
I don't necessarily think that a family boomerang would necessarily reset a park's coaster clock, so it would leave Kings Island open to getting a Vortex replacement sooner rather than later.
To be fair, Phantasialand doesn't get that much fewer annual guests than Cedar Point (and has a lot lass acreage to spread them out over), yet Raik seems to have worked out fine

This seems like quiet a short ride, and I'm REALLY hoping it's a switch-track because if it's just one train the wait times are going to be plain stupid. I can't wait to ride this with my kids next year.
I live by Dorney Park and it severely needs this. Hersheypark and Great Adventure have their own line up of family coasters and Dorney just has 1. Also, we need Dorney to finally reach 10 coasters again. Outside of the dive coaster, Dorney Park needs a modern wooden coaster, a family coaster, and another type of launch coaster.
This could be huge for Valleyfair and Michigan’s Adventure. Valleyfair could get the family boomerang and stc combo that Tripsdrill got. That would add a junior/family coaster that they don’t have much of and would add a modern inverting coaster. Michigan’s adventure could add something like lech coaster that would also be a modern looping coaster and some steel airtime.
Vekoma was my prediction about a year ago to become Michigan Adventures next big coaster, because like you said one like lech overseas would be perfect for the park. So now I'm giving a 75% chance its actually there next major coaster. And the cost was like 12 million when it was built. When we got thunderhawk it cost the park 10 million, which makes it's possible. This is my home park and if something was built similar to lech it would boost attendance like crazy. History does show every year at Michigan Adventures opened something major, the park had record attendance!
It reminds me of Cedar Point testing out Zamperla for the Wild Mouse before confirming them for the Top Thrill 2 gig. Hopefully it will mean for some Vekoma thrill coasters in the future

Idc who ultimately is the manufacturer of our next big ride. Will it be the ELITE TIER rides that KI absolutely NEEDS? Like I appreciate our lineup so much but we need a high-octane ride so badly. Something like Velocicoaster or Steel Vengeance.

I wonder if Knotts berry farm will get one. About a month ago they removed their kiddy coaster in Camp Snoopy called Timberline Twister along with a flat ride right next to it with absolutely no warning. The empty plot right now could fit a family boomerang. I thought this would happen even before i heard about Kings Islands new addition, so now im fairly convinced this is what will be added.
These family boomerangs are popping up all over the place, even in our own little Emerald Park in 2024. It will fill a huge gap in the lineup there too!
With alll the hype and mystery surrounding Top Thrill 2 at Cedar Point and Iron Menace at Dorney Park, it would be fair to say that not a single one of us saw this coming.

Yep, with Knott's, Rewind Racers at Adventure City is literally down the street (still off Beach Blvd!) in Anaheim. If they get a family-ish coaster, a smaller version of Big Bear Mountain replacing Jaguar! would be *perfect* there. (Just with a theme that's not too similar to Disney). As for CGA, if they strike a deal to spin off part of the dry park (including GoldStriker) as a FEC, then I could see Cedar Fair add a Vekoma SFC as a condition of that deal. Especially if they close Grizzly & Demon a few years before the rest of the park.
I just saw that Santa's Village up in northern NH is going to be replacing their old Zierer Tivoli, Rudy's Rapid Transit (similar to Catwoman's Whip at SFNE) with a Vekoma family coaster called Midnight Flyer. Seems like neo-Vekoma is making its big entrance into American parks with a lot of these family rides.
I would love to see new gen Vekoma at a lot of places… maybe a STC at valley fair… a multi launch in the volcano plot at KD… anything at six flags America. If big bear mountain is any indication, Vekoma is capable of world class attractions. I am excited.
They've been putting out major coasters for Disney ever since the 1990s, and these are good rides. Disney Imagineering gets a lot of the credit, but the coasters themselves are decent rides and often incorporated innovative elements.
I mean honestly, you two have amazing chemistry, you are easy to listem to, and interesting. I am saying with 100% certainty that you guys have a successful future ahead of you.
Glad that you guys over in teh states are starting to get these coasters. I took my 3yr old on Velociraptor at Paultons Park and he loved it! Made me take him on like 6 times in a row XD

This is a stepping stone for Vekoma. No doubt we will see a larger scale sooner than later. Who knows. That larger scale could be Vortex's replacement.
And given how quickly CF moved from Wild Mouse to TT2 with Zamperla, it doesn't seem they need a super long runway to give someone new a big opportunity.

I had the same exact thoughts when Kings Island announced the coaster this morning. This is definitely a test for Vekoma from Cedar Fair to see just how well this coaster performs overall. And, like you guys mentioned, this could be a two-for-one deal from the company.
I do agree though that this likely means a Vortex replacement is further down the line than originally anticipated.
I'm happy as I just don't want to see anymore boring b&m rides at cedar Fair. And this brings hope that maybe a version of f.l.y. can come to the US too
If an American Park has the balls to build the Hyper Vekoma that Energylandia regret getting (Hyperion is a maintenance nightmare according to Energylandia's CEO), I would love to see one opening. I mean -1.10 G's in the Vekoma layout on the airtime hills....

I like this Coaster for KI as they thrive to continue to be one of the best Kids Parks which keeps the rest of the Park's lines down some for the older thrill seekers. Just anxious to see what goes in that former Vortex area!!!
Definitely assumed KI would be getting an addition to the Snoopy area this year since they usually don't add a new coaster at CP and KI in the same year, and TT2 is at CP. But the Vekoma angle was interesting and opens up some new options, particularly for that old Vortex plot.
Re: Valley Fair getting a family coaster for its first new coaster in 15+ years: Six Flags St. Louis here is getting a family coaster for its first new coaster since 2008 :/ it's such a weird feeling to be like "yay finally a new coaster...and that's it oh boy" :(
I am very surprised that kings island went with a coaster in 2024 and everyone suspects that 2025 or 2026 for the big launch coaster so could they get them in back to back years or 2 in 3 years?
Maybe that will be for 2025. Either that or a new waterpark attraction for Soak City because they just took out Pipeline Paradise last season and haven't added anything new since 2016 with Tropical Plunge.

Since the opening of Fœnix at farrup i had this thought that new gen vekoma would have their sucess and that it would only be a matter of time. Think about how many medium sized parks would benefit from either a new gen looper or a family coaster.

Accelerator at Drayton Manor is not a Rebound, it doesn't have the same layout. Rebounds can be recognized in that they are compact and that they have their lifthill and spike in opposite directions instead of coasters like Raik, Tweestryd and Accelerator.
I want a wing one like gatekeeper 😢 or something crazy like X2 for the vortex I miss that coaster so much it was my favorite all cause it looped so much
I have a feeling KI is getting gonna get a second Vekoma thats gonna be a thrill coaster in the Vortex plot. I think this is a two for a percentage off deal....I feel like Cedar Fair is trying out other manufacturers to save money ie (Cedar Point) going with Zamperla for the Wild Mouse and then for The Top Thrill upgrade....I won't be surprised if a Vekoma Multi launch goes next to fill in the Vortex space!

I was expecting a family coaster within the next 5 years at KI, not next year. But, that is great. They did for a long time have the Best Kids Area award. Maybe they will get that back in the near future. It looks like a major thrill ride in the Vortex plot may be 2 or more years away. Like you guys said, they like to build up hype for a year for a major attraction. So many options for the next big coaster. Fans want a ground up RMC SOB2, or a revisited Vortex that could be from many different manufacturers.
Honestly I think knotts would be perfect for one to take the place of timberline twister

I would kill for a modern vekoma, like fonix in any of my home parks. I think dorney or Hershey could use it most, but considering sfgadv is rumored to have a super boomerang I'm fine with that

What a perfect way to hide the fact that they're building 2 roller coasters at the same time during the off season? Do a quick announcement with no build up for the kiddie ride. No one questions the materials being hauled to King's Island. Then as they approach April opening they start putting out cryptic advertisements. 🎉 Everybody's mind just blown 🤯

Valleyfair would respond well to a Boomerang. It’s been talked about for a while now as it would make for a roller coaster that parents would be able to ride with their kids which is a big issue at Valleyfair as even High Roller, which is in Planet Snoopy, doesn’t give a family-friendly ride experience for kids and parents. It would help greatly! And it’s a new coaster so…
I would love to see one of their modern flyers (like F L Y) come to Cedar Point. They have many good options now. I wouldn't be mad at another thrill model. Unfortunately with TT2 and Wildmouse opening in back to back years I don't think well see anything else new until at least 2027.
Hello i m from the Netherlands and i follow Vekoma on their journey from old to new age Vekoma this is for me the greatest news ever two announcements in like 2/3 days for a new age Vekoma. And i really hope that Holiday World get on with build with Vekoma and then a trill coaster like Fønix the Wildcat model. Of like Lech Coaster the Bermuda Blitz model without inversions but only crazy airtime and i have a cool name for that type of Vekoma coaster the Hyper Blitz. Its like a extreme Mega-Lite from Intamin but with a beyond vertical drop like Lech Coaster but with the airtime hills only layout like the Mega-Lite's from Intamin but with the new age Vekoma twist. Of a Vekoma Hyper coaster like the concept for Energylandia
this would be a perfect addition to CGA since there's a sizable vacant plot right next to planet snoopy haha

I don't necessarily think that a family boomerang would necessarily reset a park's coaster clock, so it would leave Kings Island open to getting a Vortex replacement sooner rather than later.

To be fair, Phantasialand doesn't get that much fewer annual guests than Cedar Point (and has a lot lass acreage to spread them out over), yet Raik seems to have worked out fine
