@Zaranyzerak okay thanks, I was saving for the evolution set, but now I'll have to rethink my budget. I may have to get a blu ray if I ever want this boxset. I'll probably get the animated series on DVD separate since I saw it really cheap at a store yesterday. I do know the evolution set does give a bonus disc for the first apes film, but it's basically the 40 year anniversary 2-disc edition.
@Zaranyzerak You're a persuasive man and I'll consider your words. There are so many great titles I haven't picked up yet though that I may be waiting for a re-release just by default if you know what I mean.
That's a good review. I know this boxset is better than the Legacy edition, but what about the Evolution DVD boxset? That one includes all the movies, the two TV series, animated and live-action and the Tim Burton remake. That's about 14 discs I think.
Thank you for yet another great in-depth review! I have the original PotA on blu-ray, but not the set since its region A locked.. About the MJ case, please do not judge Coolduder.. Noone has proof of anything and who knows if it was made up! coolduder and Zaranyzerak are my 2 favourite channels so lets lay low! Btw you should pick up The Thing on Blu-ray from the UK! Its region free, its cheap, and it has more extras including "Terror Takes Shape"!
Fox released the set many times on DVD. I had the first set which was only the movies and no features. This time I'll wait until they re-re-re-release the blu-ray set with both TV series in addition to bonus features like they eventually did with dvd. I can wait.
Apparently they want to tie the storyline up with the sequels to the current refresh being started with the release this year of Rise of the Apes. Don't know how successful this will be given Hollywoods penchant for 'rebooting' movie franchises of late. LOL. This is one of the best collections ever and I'm going to do my best to find it now. Thanks for this review. Just a shame I was so late to these reviews.
Awesome review bud. Good to see you back.
my favorite movie series :) I got his set for Christmas and freaking love it! :)
Just picked this up for 42 american dollars from amazon on one of their one day gold box deals, arrived today in good old blighty, awesome!

What for an Fat DVD - Edition, "Planet of the Apes" very cult and the first is awesome...
I have never seen the movies, but wish the musical from the Simpsons was real.
You couldn't have split the videos a little more evenly? (15mins and 3mins)
