The best and darkest, escape was the best and light hearted. I personally liked how the tables turned in part 3 how the apes were looked at as feared. Sad that they were killed.
In my opinion the best of all the sequel's Roddy McDowell the man Escape from the planet of the apes my second pick 4 stars underrated big time watch it if you can you will be a believer
Finally someone who likes the new ones from 2011-2017. Because they are like 100x better than the old ones. And you can’t change my mind on that. (I do like the old ones)
Whenever I find myself in some concrete zone of plain brutalist architecture, I am reminded of this film and the stark, oppressive, violent logic it steeped me in when I was 10 years old.
This movie reminds me of the time I walked through the 2011 Vancouver riots, leaving the hockey arena and trying to get back to the media hotel 12 blocks away. All hell breaking lose, and police in riot gear. It was the first, and so far only time a cop pointed his sub machine gun at me. Ah, memories.
If your story is true, the officer was probably carrying an assault rifle rather than an SMG (submachine gun). Police officers rarely carry submachine guns and don't use them in riot situations considering their drawbacks in any practical environment.
1:10 "This will be the end of human civilization! And the world will belong to a p-l-l-l-l-anet of apes!" I almost like this speech as much as Ceasar's.
Many actors have uttered the title line, Planet of the Apes in all 5 movies, but nobody...nobody, says it the best with such passion than the late, great Don Murray as Governor Breck....That's why, when he said it, they used it in the trailer.
Absolutely agree. The prophesy of an ape takeover had likely been bouncing around for 20 years, like one of today's conspiracy theories. Only Breck made the connection that this day was upon them...NOW!
I loved this film one of the best sequels better than "escape" and way better than "battle" even tho the new ape movies are awesome the originals still pack a punch👍👍👍
Jimmy Fingers yes, I especially thought of this film. It makes sense since Conquest was inspired by the 1960s race riots and its sad that history is repeating itself from 50 years ago.
So, WHO is uncertain whether household pets can carry and pass on the coronavirus. If people start taking chimps as pets, I'm going to get a little nervous. Lol
The premise of this movie has clearly not aged well. Not the revolt of the apes, but their treatment by humans. There’s no way that could happen in real life; the Animal Rights activists would declare war
I watched a documentary about the series. This one, in particular, was very popular with Black people who could relate to being oppressed. This one and the original are my favorites.
I am still waiting for a death metal band to do a concept album on this....also to know this was based on the Watts riots, or was inspired by.....I think it is awesome and not far from reality, sorry it is true.
They should have done a planet of the apes where in the forbidden zone there was a advance human society that takes over the apes. And the humans from the first movie defend them.
I was a student at UCIrvine when they were filming this, and talked to a bunch of the apes when they were "escaping" from the library when I was working there. It was a highlight of my college career!
Hey! If you are seeing this, I just wanted to let you know that Jesus loves you! He loves you so much that He died on the cross for your sins and rose from the dead so that you could be saved from sin and the wrath of God! This is the Gospel; you can be saved from God’s wrath and hell if you believe and trust in Jesus! God Bless you all!!
"Conquest" is STILL the best of the movies, especially the unrated dvd version.
It’s my favorite of the sequels of the original series
The best and darkest, escape was the best and light hearted. I personally liked how the tables turned in part 3 how the apes were looked at as feared. Sad that they were killed.
@charles1203 Escape isn't very light hearted when you actually think about it...
Despite what the critics have said about the sequels to the 1968 version, these movies were awesome!
The 2nd and the 5th are terrible, but the 3rd and 4th are as good as the first one imo.
@@BillGunslinger but you gotta love the "ape killed ape" scene in fifth one
@@erjo2567I will keep my eyes peeled for that part. I'm on the fourth one right now.

Yes and they drew large crowds.
Planet of the Apes is one of my favorite film franchises ever. Every movie from 1968 to 2017 is a masterpiece.

@@k_zildjian4460 No I love the Tim Burton version.
I was obsessed with this movie and the book when I was 11 years old.

This movie has fantastic production design. A very unique dystopia. I can't really think of many movies with a similar look. The Omega Man, maybe?

Lol what
But were there hoards of Gorillas in red jumpsuits with shotguns and riot shields?
If your story is true, the officer was probably carrying an assault rifle rather than an SMG (submachine gun). Police officers rarely carry submachine guns and don't use them in riot situations considering their drawbacks in any practical environment.
I've seen riot police at protests with machine guns.
@@irixpersonthere were still a few forces still using SMGs circa 2011. It's almost all Assault rifles now.

Interestingly that's ahead of its time.🤔😀

I didn’t realize John Jakes wrote the novelization of Conquest. The uprising scene in the movie is fantastic.
Combine this with Escape from New York and you got a masterpiece.
Is anyone else watching this trailer after watching the new "Planet of the apes- the war" of 2017
Mr. RoniPoop agree😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🙈🙈
War Of The Planet Of The Apes
Watching as they return with the original storyline😊
Best sequels ever planet of the apes
Huh? “Best sequels ever[?]” I have two words: Harry Potter.
Great movie. I need to rewatch it.

Just like the 2020 riots...so prophetic
Yes Carlos! Dang , looking to find at least 1 person that can acknowledge something like that glad to find you still chose to speak on that!
It's an allegory on Racism.
“So Prophetic?” “Allegory?” Weird run on sentence? Is everyone a bot in this comment thread?….

It was whites that didn't like this movie very much. Black people loved it!
Is anyone looking forward to "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" coming out next month?

Lmao me too. The whole plot is almost the same, one figure inspires a whole revolution.
Comparable to present day South Africa

Saying the word "No" was like saying the N-word in this movie.
Awesome.
I like this Caesar’s revolt better because he actually kills the humans. The new one gets mad at other apes for trying kill humans
I mean, he doesn't hate humans. Neither iteration of Caesar does. But yes, this iteration is certainly a killer!
Great special effects, but the new movies are woke garbage.

What's this Ceasar got to do with the Ceasar from the Prequels in the 2000's ?
Can I watch it Now? Or should i watch 3 movies (original, beneath, escape) before watch this?
Micheal Kim watch them in order 1 - 5
But avoid the last one, stupid as hell.
Better that you see them in order, although I recommend you skip the second, but the original movie has to be seen at least once in a lifetime

Fun fact: A similar concept was used in the early stages for BTPOTA including a hybrid child of ape and man but was rejected.
TH-cam has all Planet Of The Apes movies free to watch EXCEPT THIS ONE!!!!!!!
“Piracy is not a victimless crime…”
Why did they just put the entire ending of the movie lmao
