    Very, very good. Sir Allen is so luscious as a complete opera artist. This English translation is quite delightful. Many thanks for sharing.

    Indeed =)
    The libretto here was written by a fellow called Jeremy Sams who not only has done translations of operas in French and German but also composed the score for the 1995 film of the Austen classic: 'Persuasion'. Quite talented, I must say!
    I think he does an excellent job translating the original German here. And of course, the text gets even better when they're delivered by a strong actor such as Allen.

    @drtmuir That's interesting...what a coincidence that Allen called the said musical to be the "worst moment in the theatre" in an interview once. And what's even more interesting is that he also named The Merry Widow as the sexiest character in opera in the same interview.

    @drtmuir Allen himself creates tons of chemistry just by being onstage (which comes as no surprise, really) but I don't know, for me, there's always something special when he and Flott have the chance to work together on something whether it be a recording, recital or an opera (or in this case, operetta).

    @drtmuir Not at all - with the amount of chemistry these two have here, I wouldn't be surprised if we had to turn the air conditioning on.
