The Chevelle is gonna be awesome! I've seen guys use the bottom out of a wheel barrel for a recess in the firewall for engine setback. I've also seen the front sub out of an All Wheel Drive Astro Van and transfer case from a Trailblazer SS for AWD conversions
In 67 I was a young kid and I still love to go to hot rod races and burnouts and everything else I'm 75 years now old and I still have that in my blood only thing keeps me going
Geez, you guys have the absolute best taste in cars! A four wheel drive Chevelle will be so unusual, especially if it is set up to handle. It will be an incredible learning experience too. I am still plowing ahead on my 70 Camaro. Just finished the raising of the tunnel for the T56 Magnum, using the Real Deal Steel tunnel. So far the quarters, tail panel, raised rear floor for exhaust, DSE mini tubs, new firewall is complete. Going the LSX-LS7 route. Take care and have fun down there.
Watched Last American Hero when it came out in '73 as a senior in H.S. , had just got my '70 Roadrunner then . We 'still' enjoy L.A.H. And 'still' have a Roadrunner and many others today... A very young Gary Busey is in L.A.H. also....
Don’t be afraid to ask for guidance but also try and do as much research and work yourself so you can gain experience for your 2nd, 3rd , 4th build! Also have an end goal in mind for the build (street car, racecar, etc) and stick to it so it does not exceed your budget/capability.
Danny rocks!!!! That man is living the life…..i need to build me a shop on my property so i can be half as cool as Danny……yeah i have 6 cars a harley road glide and a eagle 230 eliminator (boat 8.1 vortec)….and its a job in itself trying to keep up on the fleet and keep everything going…..but like danny , I to can go outside at anytime and start any one of my beasts!!! I wanna get another car but the wife aint having it, i gotta get rid of one before another one comes…..so lately ive been considering putting my mbz cls550 up for sell….but at the same time my son is 15 and will be driving soon and the cls550 would probably be the safest and smartest thing for him to drive…..even though he has been eyeballing them cheap garbage 4.6 mustangs….i told him he better get his momma on board , shouldnt be a problem cause she had a ‘96 gt 4.6 and a ‘66 with a gt40 crate engine when i met her….but at the same time i told him when that 4.6 shits the bed we will be putting a 4.8/5.3 in it and thats the only way i will be working on a ford here at our empire!!!!……..cant wait to see danny’s awd ‘67 concept chevelle being created!!! Good luck you 2 and your tempest is coming along great….cant wait to see that 6.0 you built moving along under it own power….have you had any thoughts yet on what your gonna do with the paint?? Is it gonna shine or are you gonna touch up the minor dings/dents and keep the patina look….i honestly think you guys should repaint it yourselves in the shop and try to keep it as close to the same shade of blue as you can……..also, did you ever sell the firebird, if so how long did it take and did you get full asking price??……….keep up the awesome work you two , your killin it!!!
I'm building a 70 lemans awd. It's on a 5.3 Buick rainier chassis basically a 5.3 trailblazer SS.. The shell drops on the floor at the pinch welds width wise, wheel base is off by 1". Firewall has plenty of room. Lose about 4" of roof to floor height. I can share pics if you like.
That is also my dream car. I am happy you able to find such a solid one but also am a little sad you will be cutting it up. On the other hand I am still excited to see how your project turns out. Please think of me if you should find another. Regards from Ody Slim
I'm taking this Chevrolet Canyon trucks front suspension and putting up under my 72 Nova front that's what I want all wheel drive 72 Nova but make it look like a vintage stock car...
😍 Beautiful cars! That should be a fun one! Just please check all of your P's and Q's. I know you have connections, Liv, so please use them. We don't want another B is for Build fiasco.
Have you heard of Vice grip garage? They have a product that looks and works simply. Gives patina shine, kinda gloss but also flat. Easy to apply also. 🤙👍🤙👍high built is easy to work with also. Just get gnarly.
White. because it's wright. and clean. Junior Jackson is driving a '64 Chevelle in this scene in 'Last American Hero'. I've owned this movie 25+ yrs. one of my all time faves. I've always thought maybe to do a tribute '84 Chevelle sedan post 300 Dale E Jr first asphalt Win car. It was White. just like the one Jr. Jackson is driving here. well kinda. Similar appearance. whatever you do it, do it Justice. Bow Tie guy till I die. GM is way for Chevrolet..
I'm curious how this car will be set up? Getting power to the ground, without massive torque steer, and plowing will be a challenge. Should be worth it though. BTW, every ending should end with that word...😉
Very cool project. I have an '02 Yukon Denali (6.0L and AWD) and a project '71 Monte Carlo as well. Once I found out they both had the same wheelbase (116") I've been kicking around a similar project idea for a while now to do a chassis swap.
Nice, when I was a kid my sister went to the Chevy Dealer to buy a new 67 Chevelle But just before the papers were signed the salesman said lets go out back and look at something. The something was under a blanket and was a Blue 67 Camaro. My sister said she changed her mind and that is what we went home in. When she married and moved away I was suppose to get that car. But she had my Dad sell it. One day I purchased my own 67 Camaro and fixed it up. I've had a few chevie's but turned into a Ford guy so I would be a little different at the race track So now I have a 89 Ranger with a 545 BBF Congrats on the car
Check out the most famous 67 CHEVELLE. Smokey Unick. Car. And liv can wear the cowboy hat and cover alls and her cowgirl boots.. legendary.... nascar hated that car.
Liv is trying so hard to get one car going but is put on the back burner so he can add more stuff for himself instead of helping his girl out a little more... c'mon man
This was filmed a couple months ago. Danny has been the BIGGEST help with my project. If it wasn’t for him, I don’t think nearly half the progress would’ve been made. Trust me, he is always putting my car before his projects and for that I’m super grateful. ❤️
Well if that's the case carry on my friends lol I don't get to see all the behind the scenes so I'm just going off what I see on TH-cam I've made that mistake myself and she always held that against me edit: not your she but my she
We're still trying to decide what color to paint it.. what do you guys think?
same as the movie
Two tone black and silver with a red pinstripe...
Nice.. 👍 where do you guys find the cars? Does Danny work on customers vehicles
Same as the movie x2....is this movie the one where Jeff B's character built a bullet nose ford and put an I-beam in the grill?........ awesome flick!
half same as the movie, half as it is. Keep it classic :)
The Chevelle is gonna be awesome! I've seen guys use the bottom out of a wheel barrel for a recess in the firewall for engine setback. I've also seen the front sub out of an All Wheel Drive Astro Van and transfer case from a Trailblazer SS for AWD conversions
I watched the movie in full. I hope that the project goes well for Danny. Can't wait to see the finished car. So exciting!!.
That 67 Chevelle is going to be a beast when its all done.
I'm looking forward to this build. It's cool to see people's Dreams come to life!🏁
Yes! I’m so happy Danny gets to check another dream car off his list. 😊
The Last American Hero is a Great Movie! 🤘🔥
It's a good movie
A good watch for the car crazy
That’s cool!! I love my 66 Chevelle!!
That is gonna be an awesome build!
In 67 I was a young kid and I still love to go to hot rod races and burnouts and everything else I'm 75 years now old and I still have that in my blood only thing keeps me going

Thank you! :)

Really excited about this build mate! Much love from Australia 👍🏼

Interesting build. I can't picture this car any other color than Smokey Yunick black and gold.
That would look so sharp
Right on.
I grew up watching those movies. Very cool. Don't forget to box your frame.
Best scene in that movie is when he gets pulled over in his truck
It's hard to believe that the movie "The Last American Hero" is 50 years old!!
I had a 66 Malibu for my first car. 2 Dr 283 2bbl power glide. Nice car. Wish I had another one.
My buddy had a 67 white pearl with blue stripes... and a 540 shafiroff motor... man was that thing a beast!
Very cool car!! Are you going to make it the “3/4” yunick version?
I want to but the paint scheme/livery is up to Danny
@@GnarlySpeedShop would be really cool 🏁
do u have any advice on a person doing there first build?

Hopefully one day you'll get a 67 Beaumont SD in you're Garage as well (if you can find one at a great price of course).
I'm always hunting...
Will the car get radiuses wheel openings too?
I Think that is going to be an interesting build.
Thanks!

Does Danny need a hood for 67 shevel hood
Is it an SS hood?
We'll it won't look odd because all the stock cars had wide tires all the way around anyways
exactly!
✌🤙
Correction!!! That's a 1/2.. Of a 67!!

Yes, he is handsome Garrie but please back off from my man. 😆
