Your parents have taught you well. Good to see young people living life on their own terms and not punching a clock livin' the 9 to 5 life. Love the video.
You make a 42 year old man envious of what you have, and where you are at such a young age. Good for you though. You and your siblings are Blessed to have such amazing parents to introduce you to this lifestyle. My prayer is that I would be able to introduce my kids to this type of lifestyle as well. Blessing!
I think your cabin lights are perfect the way they are because you can use them all year round. Lotta work done this video but so much more to go! I can't imagine why ur uncles wouldn't want insulation. I can see why having your own homestead would be so fulfilling 😊
Thank you. I really love the cozy lights. It’s definitely exciting times ahead with finding our own place with my brother Pete and building a little homestead. See you next week.
Love the lights, keep them up year-round, and the soup looks delicious. Definitely need a shed style roof over your wood and front door. Cant wait to see the future builds, love your channel Dan keep up the good work. 👍☃🎄
Love the amber lights on the outside of your lakeside cabin. It outlines the contour of the slant roof line well. Irish stew looked so delicious. Love seeing Lando always. Exciting plans for a homestead!
Hi Dan, Evergreen trees are always beautiful but seeing them surrounding the path to your parents, with Snow of them, was so tranquil and peaceful. The reflection of the Pine trees in the water is always special as well. There is so much scenic beauty to nature so enjoy every minute of life there on that Island separated from society and enjoying time with family. For the lights the Colored ones are nice for the Holidays but the White lights you have can be enjoyed all year long.
Wow Dan, Im impressed! An old favourite from my home country. Nothing compares to an irish stew 🎉 it looked great to me. It tastes even better the next day. I usually make a big pot of stew and the family would get a few days out of it and I get those other couple of days that i dont have to cook from scratch. You can freeze it in.portions too for future dinners 🫢
Good idea. Next time I will make a big batch so I can have it the next day and freeze some. That will come in handy on days when I don’t feel like cooking.
Thanks Dan for another nice video for us to enjoy. You are going to be very busy during the winter with your projects and I will follow you along the way.
Still building in the snow. So cold. So much snow. You work so hard. I love the amber color. It wins in my book. I love the idea of reading a book by the fire. And he cooks!
Hello Dan. I follow all your videos from your new home together with Lando and this reflection comes to mind. You are hard-working, that's true, but at the same time you are a TALKER, amazing, not achieving your intended goals in 100%. For some time now, in your videos we have been hearing about preparing wood for the winter. But you can only hear. Because this little pile under the house is probably for dwarfs. You've had wood cut somewhere in the forest for a long time and only now are you going to bring it when winter is already outside the door. You still have a lot to learn, my friend, so that in the future, if you dream, buy a piece of land and be on your own. I apologize for these comments. Lots of health.
I bought my own set of really good electric clippers for cutting my own hair when Covid hit! I just got them from Amazon! And they’re really good! Also, I watched the girls in the haircutting salon when they were cutting men’s hair and I noticed they have Clippers or shears that had different attachments for different lengths of hair and they just ran it over the top of the guys head and cut all that hair, the same length and then they put another different length attachment on it and into the sides and then they put another attachment on it for shorter hair and did the back!So that’s probably something you could do if you have a mirror that you can hold in your hand and look in the mirror behind you! That’s what I do and it works really well
I could smell the Irish Stew all the way over here, such a delicious presentation! There’s something so cozy about the warm ambiance of amber lights, similar to the color of a campfire. You are an inspiration and we are all excited to watch you as you set the foundations to meet your goals. Kudos to your parents Dan. And no matter what Lando does, tearing up chopped wood like a toy, perched on the hull as a lookout or being a crazy pup in the snowy woods, he’s really the star here who melts your heart and brings a smile to everyone’s face, looking forward to your next video 🐾❤️
I have been watching your family adventures since you were a very young man, and now seeing you grown up and making your own life , building a cabin, cooking your meals, is a testament to how well your parents taught you to be industrious and self sufficient ! Wishing you all the best Dan. Great video
The snow is absolutely gorgeous! It’s a lot of hard work to homestead but also rewarding and peaceful. I look forward to your continued growth. You are an accomplished young man. Lando is a great companion. He is so sweet. Definitely a fan of the amber lights and the channel. Stay safe.
Loved the fire barrel. Used to have them at the skating ponds. The floating snow test to predict the lake freezing is literally so cool. It’s heartwarming to watch your pup living so joyfully. Looking forward to seeing how your plans develop.
Thank you. I’m super excited for the future. It’s going to be a lot of hard work, and planning but that’s all part of the adventure and journey. The burn barrel is definitely nice to have.
Wow! Winter has definitely come to your island! So beautiful! Your cabin does look very inviting and cozy. Another great job. Your plans sound exciting. I'm looking forward to watching your dreams become reality ✨️
Here in Quebec we start to have snow we have a lot ! I love what you do in your video it's fun to see you want to built-up your homestead can wait to watch your videos! See you next week!😊
I’m so jealous! I know it’s hard work and challenging everyday, but man - what a wonderful life. Beautiful setting, supportive Family, a beautiful doggo, and so much potential. Learning new things everyday and appreciating the little things. I’m definitely subscribing and following. All the best and good luck as you continue toward your dreams.
Personally I love the amber lights on your cabin as they exude warmth and they make the cabin look beautiful all year round. The snow makes everything look amazing as well and you must treasure your island life. Thank you for another great video.
Your cabin looks so festive with your Christmas lights1. Another wonderful video. I’m of your parent’s generation and prefer the old fashion Christmas lights. Irish stew looks yummy on a cold winter day.
I think you and and Peter need to make a visit to Erik Grankvist once you obtain your land. That would be a great combination of knowledge sharing! Best of luck moving forward!
You asked about lights, Dan. I love both clear and colored Christmas lights, but the clear ones look really nice against the color of your cabin. Your cabin looks great against the snowy landscape too. I love dark colored homes, painted mine dark green in the NC mountains so it would blend in with the trees.
Dan I had to laugh at Lando getting aggressive with his chunk of wood that he decided needed to be killed. I have a pup and she does the same to a toy that needs to be taught a lesson.
Wow your so blessed your family must be so proud of you. Your older then your years and with so much pland for the future I wish you and your family all the best 😊❤
You should extend that roof out like 2 to 4 foot and you will slove a couple problems at once no snow at the door and a cover for the wood boom done and wouldn't be a lot of money fairly cheap fix for 2 problems and it doesn't have to have a deck either
This is second video of yours I have watched, really enjoyed seeing you work to make your little cabin your winter home, look forward to seeing all your plans work out. God Bless.
So nice that your parents are there with you and you’re not completely isolated in your frozen environment! Their cabin is definitely more festive with the colored lights, but your amber lights can be left up and used year-round.
I really enjoy watching your videos. You are such a responsible and mature young man for your age. Your parents did a good job raising all of you. I love your family. By the way, I like your amber lights on the cabin.
I like the amber light of your cabin. May be that’s what I was brought up with in the Netherlands, not the flashy kind……… It’s like what you said: it’s more glowing, warmer look. 😊
I like the amber lights old fashioned when they went back to candles on the tree. Yes I enjoy Irish stew also sheppard pie. (Mashed potatoes yum) So funny when Lando was growling at the wood. Dogs sure are great company!! Can’t wait to follow along on your plans. (Till next week) 😊
Hi Dan sure love watching your videos. I must say your stew looked so good and would your share your recipe Thanks a million. Merry Christmas to you and your family 😊
Love watching your channel. Thought-- try putting a heavier tarp over the outside logs, drapping it down and over the logs. A full coverage. Just a thought. Have a great day. Your stew looks delicious 😋 😊
You and your family have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Just found your channel today. God Bless you and your family. I know from your videos you had a tough year. God be with all of you. 🙏🎄🎅
You might wanna think about putting a covered porch by your door there leave the front uncovered facing the water so you can put your wood up on the porch and maybe even screen it in from the bugs
Can't wait to see what the property you decide to get , hope you fine tune your basic engineering skills before you even look at one , so you know how to look at the land , for things like , accessibility , water drainage , sun exposure , wind concerns , wear to place the main cabin and all other furniture buildings , like a well house , outhouse , root cellar , wood shed and so Fourth . Being able to " Read " the land is very important , when buying raw land . Can't wait ! Hope it's soon ! But I be watching no matter how long it takes. Starting to love your channel as much as I do your families. Thank you for bringing joy to my very limited downtime , can't wait !
I truly live how you explain things, Dan . That cabin is coming along. Love your cabin setup the way you like it. You do any fishing before the freeze or do you do ice fishng.
Hello Dan.. I love your Amber lights against the colour of your Cabin .. you could always put coloured lights like your parents around the tree closest to your Cabin, maybe a bit messy with the snow but it will give you a REAL Xmas Tree .. just an idea.. I'm going to make your Itish Stew .. hugs to Lando 🐕❤
Hey Dan, thanks for another cracking vlog. That Irish stew looks great might just have to make that this winter. I've been making chili 🌶️ lately that's been tasty. Definitely think the amber lights are the business. Great to see you connecting with your parents now that they're home. (I'm watching their new vlog now.) Love to watch your vlogs with my morning coffee. Be well and stay safe. Lando rules. :-)
Here in Finland we call the blue time of the night "blue moment" especially around the dusk when there is proper snow on the ground (and on the trees preferably) the blue moment can be extremely beautiful
Your parents have taught you well. Good to see young people living life on their own terms and not punching a clock livin' the 9 to 5 life. Love the video.
Thank you so much.
One coffee tip for you. When you tamp down the grounds, you should do it on the counter top vs in your hand to get a uniform tamp.
Good advice! Thanks for the tip.
I have cooked since I was young around 11. I absolutely have to try your recipe. I never made it how you did with the potatoes on the bottom.
It's a great recipe, I'm glad you're going to try it!
Great video.😍
Thanks! I appreciate you watching.
You make a 42 year old man envious of what you have, and where you are at such a young age. Good for you though. You and your siblings are Blessed to have such amazing parents to introduce you to this lifestyle. My prayer is that I would be able to introduce my kids to this type of lifestyle as well. Blessing!

Thank you, happy you enjoyed it.

Love the amber lights on the outside of your lakeside cabin. It outlines the contour of the slant roof line well. Irish stew looked so delicious. Love seeing Lando always. Exciting plans for a homestead!

I agree!
Thanks Dan for another nice video for us to enjoy. You are going to be very busy during the winter with your projects and I will follow you along the way.
Thank you! I’m glad your enjoying them!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I have a lot of projects planned for the winter. Happy to have you along with me as I learn more and more each week.
Maybe you should build a small roof over your door!
Love this idea. Thank you
I am really enjoying your videos. Stew looked delicious. Keep cooking Dan you will get better and better at it.
Thank you! I’m still learning but enjoying the process.
Wow!Love it
Living your best life, happy you started young 😃

I love the amber color. It wins in my book. I love the idea of reading a book by the fire. And he cooks!
Thank you for the kind words, I love the amber lights too!
I'd put a shed style roof over your door. it can limit the snow in front of the door and if its big enough, keep snow off the handy firewood.
That’s a great idea.
The snow looks so nice and peaceful, especially at night with the outdoor lights! Lando giving that piece of wood the business 🤩!
Lando always loves to chew on wood! It’s funny to watch. Definitely peaceful here this time of year.
The lights on your cabin Dan adds that cozy charm, while the traditional lights on your folks cabin folk say welcome home the coffee is on ❤
So true. ☕️

if you don't have anything nice or supportive to say, better not to say anything at all
Thank you for the feedback and advice. Hope you have a great week ahead. See you next week.
One of my absolute favorite meals is a simple "Bangers and Mash" So good on a cold day! Great video!
I'll have to try that, thanks for the suggestion! Good to hear from you friend.
I love the multi colored lights

I love both lights. So much so that my Christmas tree has a setting for multi coloured and I can switch them to the Amber coloured
That’s a cool set of lights! If I ever get a bigger Christmas tree I’ll definitely get something like that!
Minus 16, wow, hello winter!
It's definitely chilly here, but I'm ready!
I like that the amber lights outside will look good all year. The “Christmas lights” will look good only during the holidays IMO.

It’s like what you said: it’s more glowing, warmer look. 😊
It definitely creates a cozy vibe!

We have also been taking boat loads to our family cabin with both the boats. 👍🏻

Hey brother, be sure to use the safety kill switch on that boat motor when solo! Great video. First time viewing!!😊
Good point, always a good habit to get into! Awesome I hope you enjoy the videos!
I really pray for you and your brother that you find property to build on for yourself. 🙏🎄
I love watching Lando. He is amazing and handsome
He is the best friend to have. 🐾
You may want to try a Styrofoam toilet seat for your outhouse. I read that it is what they do in Alaska and Finland.
Great idea!
Your lights for sure!!!😉
I’m glad you like them!
Thanks for the suggestion, I really appreciate it!
Hey Dan & Lando!, wow! Look at that snow. I'm jealous... one day I will get to experience snow in Canada and I will let myself fall into it 😂
Hello! Go for it!
Thanks. Chili sounds so good. I’ll need to make some to take the chill off.
Here in Finland we call the blue time of the night "blue moment" especially around the dusk when there is proper snow on the ground (and on the trees preferably) the blue moment can be extremely beautiful
I'm happy that I found your channel. I've been watching the epic family channel for a while now.
Thanks! Glad you found it, I hope you enjoy the videos.
