Pepper is such the savage defending her home-box from the alien cat toy. Your cooking segments are more enjoyable to me than any of the TV shows with star chefs, food stylists and production staffs.
Your intro for each program is far and away better than National Geographic. Have you guys ever thought of just having your intros back to back for a substitute for your living videos even though I love those also!! great job. I love your program.👍
It is to believe i have been watching your channel for over 6 years. I think first one was you just moved in your other cabin. It shows you your channel just keeps us all coming back. Thank you for sharing these videos every week. be safe and see you on the next one.
Thank you both so much for sharing your beautiful surroundings along with your adventures and building your property. Taking us along for the ride no matter what y’all do is always entertaining.
I was stationed in Fairbanks in 1965-1967 and watching your videos still remind me how wild and beautiful Alaska is. Your intro videography is truly superb.
Beautiful drone footage! I also agree with Ariel on the pasta, can't beat home made. I have the same roller/cutter and the trick is to let the dough dry out a little first before running it through the cutter. In a pinch if you don't want to wait, flour it, fold it and cut it 👌
If you've never experienced the darkness living in the far north like these guys it is hard to explain the many ways it effects you. I'll never forget my first year living in Alaska. All that night time takes some getting used to. And it's funny you bring up building a root celler. EVERY TIME I see one of your videos I think back to the debacle with your last root celler!!! Holy cow did it break my heart watching you guys fill that hole back in!!! I'd have cried monster alligator tears had that been me!!! And I'm as alpha male as one gets I assure you!!! I love your guys stuff. Keep living the life you choose. Young folks these days could learn a ton from you guys.
It's been a year since I remembered to watch your videos. Thank you for them. Still very interesting to watch. Will have to binge watch to catch up on things. Being winter here in upstate New York, gives me the lovely neighbor feeling. 🙂
Having learned from a pro chef, and not sure if it's been said already, but put your cutting board in the oven on really low heat for a bit before oiling it... the wood fibres will open up and absorb more oil and last longer. Not really sure if that's legit, but I have been using the same cutting board for about 20 years and no cracks. Worth investigating maybe!!
Man, those gorgeous shots of God's beautiful Alaskan terrain and animals get me in tears every time! And your wonderful looking food makes me hungry every time! Lol. Love watching you both cook and how you utilize your ingredients.
My favorite thing about your channel is that you work together…doesn’t matter if you’re using your sawmill…building a quasi hut…hunting…fishing..or cooking…you do it together and I love that for you! You’re an inspiration to young couples. You know, it’ time to get another dog, right? I know you think you’re not ready but you need one or two. Love your channel and I never miss a video.
Thank you both for the super delicious recipe ideas! It's great that you always make everything together and how well you two harmonize with each other. ❤
Guys we never have any problems with the audio, but this video I’m having real problem hearing you guys. ??? We in our 60’s maybe the reason. Keep doing a wonderful job.
I was wondering if the audio might have been messed up on my end too. I had to crank it up to hear it. Nevertheless, thanks for the video Arielle & Eric !!! I always enjoy the aerial shots. I got a drone myself but so far have been too worried about crashing it and so have yet to send it up.
14:10 - after you take it out of oven place dump towel over it for one minute, and take it off - it will make skin of bread much less hard. It will be still crunchy but not hard to bite. Since i was a child a warm slice of bread with milk and fresh butter was (and still is) my favorite breakfast.
Wow! The winter in Alaska seems cold and lonely. You managed to impart that feeling through out your video with intermittent silences. Then you've left me with a feeling of winter, full on, with the sprinkling of warm and cozy meals. Nice place to land! No audio issues here!
You two are incredible. What you have achieved is remarkable. Both of you are not only good cooks but you preserve as well. You need to have a cooking show.
❤❤❤ anytime I see you guys drop a video. I stop everything else so that I can catch it. I love the photography and the video that you guys always intro with. It's spectacular. I've been watching your channel for 4 years and I'm an avid fan😅😅😅😅
The video is great. For some reason the sound was very low on this video and I had to turn it up to 26. Then the commercials would blow me out of my chair. LOL Thanks for the teaching video on sourdough bread.
Greetings from Australia on a gloomy wet day. Always a highlight to see you to being so positive in winter.for all those mentioning sound just turn the volume up on your device
@@DesTondola Sourdough does sound good! Just think, at some point fresh dough or sweet dough was desired, but someone may have got sidetracked, forgot the dough having it in a bowl with previous dough not washed out, then were hungry and was the last thing they had, so went ahead and cooked it and found out it was good. Or someone ran out of fresh flour, so took mash from the mash barrel and cooked it!
One of my favorite meals that my mother would make is homemade egg noodles, and ox tail. Back in the early 60's many people had no idea how good ox tail could possibly be, and sold for 19 cents a pound it was very cheap for family like mine to enjoy. My mother would cook so many meals with her pressure cooker, and this was just one of the so many. Hearing the chatter of the metal from the steam coming out of the cooker was just part of most days.
Again, You guys have out done yourselfs, Loved the drone shots of all the fish, And how great was those caribo, "Food" A warm cabin, bellies full of food, Who could want more than that????. THANKS.
We put the sauwrkrautin pint jars , once it's fifinished, and put it in the fridge. We also sometimes put them in the pressure canner, which makes it softer but it stays a long time without refrigeration. .
It is both very cold and beautiful at the same time up there and keeping the cabin as warm as you can get it and cooking up a lot of great food for the cold weather take care and have a nice warm weekend thanks guys. ❄️🎄❄️🔥❄️🎄❄️
💚 Amazing opening footage, as always, clearly, from the comments, we all really enjoy and appreciate the stunning beauty. It is amazing how you can store vegetables for a good while. I am surprised that it's 45° in the crawl space! 💚
Stunning opening sequence! Thank you! Also, you could issue a 1-3 hour video of your cabin stove for the winter season for the rest of us. :) Framed like you have it at minute 14:30.
You have a way of capturing the most breathtaking photos. It's as if I am back in Alaska. I miss it so. Just love your video's. I also appreciate watching the food segments. You two are very inspiring. Thank you.

Lovely place to be. In the warmth and comfort of your cozy cabin. Enjoying fruits of your labour. Hibernate and recharge your batteries when you’ve both worked hard leading up to winter. Unlike us city slickers - even Sunday is not a day of rest! And we wonder why we’re soooo tired. Thanks for sharing your beautiful landscape. Watching your videos is Escapism for me. 🇦🇺 fan.
You should own a mandolin . Makes slicing and dicing so much faster and easier and they are all the same size which makes them cook all the same . Teach you that in cooking school .
The black flowing water against the white snow filled land in the opening was really cool....The grey cloud contrast reminded me of black and white film back in the days of Kodak.....
You made a good investment with the sauerkraut pot, my husband is german, we always have sauerkraut on hand with this pot. Make your kimchi in it, excellent.
Excellent opening. My favorites: eagles perching, your cabin and shop backlight at night, drone of the migrating caribou. ( truly, everything was amazing …I could go on and on)
Try rolling your noodle dough and cutting the dough with a knife. That way you can make them as thin as you like. Make sure to have a fair bit of flour on the top when you roll to keep it from sticking to itself. When you unroll the noodles, toss them in your fingers to shake the excess flour out. That's the way my mom made egg noodles. She'd also dry them by hanging them over the broom and mop sticks held up by chairs at the end. :)
Absolutely fabulous 😮 the attention to detail is amazing on your photography and editing 🤩 you should be extremely proud of the work that you both do❤️❤️❤️❤️. I know I’m not the only person that really looks forward to your videos 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰. Thank you 😊
Beautiful intro as always. So good to see you today. The meals you and Eric make always looks delicious. Yum. Thank you for sharing. Stay warm and safe. Keep making videos. I look forward to each and everyone of them. Take care from Cape Cod✌️🇺🇸❤️❤️
I love these two I think the most fascinating benefit is is there just like us and that makes us feel so comfortable she was eating and I really had to think back and think when I was eating spaghetti I was eating spaghetti just like she was eating supper I had to check over there so original I just love them
The drone shots were fascinating. I was surprised that the river was not frozen, and when the caribou appeared, I thought of you needing to be there for bagging one of them. I so appreciated the huge pointers with the sourdough, thank you! Blessings!!
