Uenala! Just listen to the mixes in which he collaborated with Depeche in Delta and Spirit. Honestly, it's the closest thing to having Alan in studio, saving the huge differences, of course. The guy takes a lot from Trip Hop to work. And it is precisely the Trip Hop where Alan Wilder felt most comfortable to work, both with Violator and then with Bloodline. The same with SOFAD and the subsequent Recoil records. it really seems that Ueanala understands that. And he knows how to give them back that tempo, those changes of rhythms and the groove so characteristic that they always use to do.
I love the Electronic, Gothic-Industrial feel of this song, as well as the lyrics and vocals. David Gahan is one of my favorite male vocalists and musicians, along with Martin Gore! Listening to this song makes me wish that Depeche Mode--my number 1 band if all time--would have produced more songs like this for the "Spirit" album. It is still, of course, a great album, with many songs that I love, but songs like this really would have given the album more of an edge. I am simply imparting my honest viewpoint, as a lifelong Depeche Mode fan. 🙂🎶💎❤️
