I buy from Country Life Natural Foods , MI. They ship free in orders over $99. It ships fast and very well protected. I just bought honey in a glass container and it came bubble wrapped with shipping peanuts in a separate box. I’m very happy their attention to detail.
I get all of my wheat berries from Bread Beckers. They have a huge variety, including many ancient grains, and the shipping cost, although higher than it used to be which I understand, isn’t so high it kills the value of the grains. They are fantastic quality, and I’ve never had an issue. I get Hard and Soft white most regularly, but also use Spelt, Rye and Barley. Since my first order from here, I’ve never ordered anywhere else. They also have a good variety of beans and lentils that I also buy. Black beans, kidney, pinto, canalini, and brown lentils are my staples. Absolutely love this company. And Sue Becker has a wealth of information on you tube as well as her blog.
I have ordered many 25 lb bags of the organic cane sugar and it has never looked like yours. Thankfully our drop is just minutes away and 75% of our bulk food/cleaners/spices/and many items come from Azure. I will never stop buying from Azure. Love them and all of their products! The rest of our stuff is from Costco and local farms.
Costco is a rip and there food spoils faster than ever. There giving us old food smaller bags for higher prices I was just there they are raising there prices to where you can’t even walk out without 800.00 of nothing. I was just there. Plus nothing they sell is organic. Really nothing is organic anymore. Look what there spraying on us 24/7. Now Azure I’m ready to quit them on a lot of thing like veggies fruit anything fresh Our garden did really bad live in New Mexico I’m trying to find bushels of tomatoes green beans peas Can’t find it no where.
I'm in Pennsylvania and make the monthly drive to Lancaster County (about an hour away) for the Mennonite/Amish stores. BBs Grocery, SharpShopper, and Ebeneezer's Grocery all offer bulk and scratch & dent. We tend to shop Restaurant Depot for many bulk food items including pantry staples and potatoes.
In the pacific north west we have abundant Azure drop locations, some even coming every week. I have to be sooooo careful of the prices. Lately things that were always a good are not at all any more. I do think their line of coconut products (oil, cream, milk, flakes...) is really the best deal around.
The produce/fruit is so bad now, I'm in the same state and get my drop same day it's loaded. Last drop we got a FULLY rotting box of peaches, meaning they 100% packed and willfully shipped rotting food.
I wish there was a drop location near me. I splurged and ordered once online. I was pleased w everything I ordered, however the shipping fee was more than I can swing on a continual basis. Thanks for sharing your info! 😊
Thank you for the pointers! We move to acreage in a few months and I’m looking to go more self-reliant and less processed for my family. I recently watched your video on meal planning for a year and just tonight sat down and thought of 28 different meals my family thoroughly enjoys… it was hard! 😅 and > a third are chicken meals! My children and husband like what they like 😂
I'm so glad you are finding my videos helpful! It can take some time to make that list, but it sure does make meal planning and dinner time less stressful.
I see all of these YT videos where people buy from Azure, and I'd love to do that. Like your family, I live an hour and a half from the nearest drop point (My town has bumper stickers that say 'Locally Isolated', LOL). I've looked at their website, pondered trying to get a drop point here, etc. I just don't have time to be the instigator of that. We do have some Amish/Mennonite stores a little closer, 45-min/1 hour, and we do go to those, with coolers in the truck, but it's a half-day excursion. Good prices though, and things you can't find elsewhere. One of them even grinds their own peanut butter with various other flavors. Our famer's market in this little liberal town is VERY Expensive. I grow most of our food, always have, and this year the weather is better than last year. Thank you for the very nice video! I still wish I could get some of this stuff, but I just have to tell myself I've lived without it almost 70 years, so we'll just keep on keeping on! It's good to see young people like you getting back to basics!
Pleasant Hill Grains Palouse I’ve purchased Wheatberries and beans / legumes from both. Pleasant Hill has their products already packed in Food Grade sealed buckets. Great price and quick delivery for both Companies
I had the same experience with “frozen” cherries - the container was already leaking when I got it off the truck. Couldn’t re freeze them. Delicious, but I wasn’t expecting to eat them all at once! Helpful video - thanks!
Allot of great info in this video. I buy from Azures but you named off a couple places I wasn’t aware of and I’m getting a few more in the comment section. Greatly appreciated 😊 our local Mennonite store doesn’t carry the bulk dry goods like the one in the video, wish they did.
I would love Sunday deliveries. As a young working professional in Southern California, it’s incredibly difficult for me to do the random weekday pick ups. I barely get a few days notice and I can’t just leave work for hours without two weeks notice.
There prices have more than doubled since they stopped doing their own deliveries. They used to deliver to the local Seventh Day Adventist church. Their prices on organic grains, flours, oils, nuts, dried fruits, spices could not be beat. Even with the free shipping over $99 I cannot afford to buy from them. So sorry to see their focus change.
Thank you for this good info … can you tell me …. Do you randomly add favorite ingredients like nuts and chocolate chips and dried fruits ? I want to make your cookies
The lids for the 1/2 gallon and gallon jars are discontinued. :( I purchased the jars and went to order the lids for next month; sadly, they're unavailable. There is a new alternate 1/2 and whole gallon jars with lids though :)
I love ordering my meat from Alden Hills in southern WI. I live in NW WI, and as long as I order the minimum, which is no problem when ordering a 1/4 beef or 1/2 pork, I get free overnight shipping on dry ice. It has worked great!
Thrive was great for the first couple times I ordered from them. Then it was way too much advertising and not great sales. And it was a pain to get out of the membership.
Completely agree. Had a lot of problems with Thrive and their membership. I also found I could get better products and value through vitacost without a membership!
I, too, had to stop ordering from Azure after their drop schedule changed too much. I work 6 days a week and can't just drop everything to go meet the truck. I order from Country Life Natural Foods, Vitacost and Thrive Market. Oh, and I use Misfits Market sometimes, too.
trying the peanut butter in my next haul- glad you like the oxy additive- been wanting to try that- I use another natural brand but it very expensive - so going to try- and where did you get those nice jars you have your nuts and dried fruits- are those azure? just found your videos
They no longer have the 1 gallon jars. So sad! I also agree with not buying their fresh produce. Ive never had luck with good quality produce from them and i only live 20 minutes from my drop.
I have a question about the azure jars- does the gallon hold 5 bls of beans - chocolate chips and granola- buying many of this size food this month and wondering if the jars can handle the volume from these 5 lb bags thanks (fairly new to azure) and enjoying your channel
I can’t remember exactly. I usually store things in buckets with gamma lids and then just use these for a smaller quantity in our pantry. You might find this video helpful! Calculating Food Storage Space Needed + Bulk Food Storage Tour ~ Azure Standard Haul th-cam.com/video/MGgmxmhMDc8/w-d-xo.html
I saw a video form Dave, the CEO of Azure Standard where he says that pretty much any of their products in 5 pound bags will fit in a gallon jar/storage container
I've always had a good experience with their produce. And if anything goes wrong it's not hard to have them credit you the cost. Maybe it's where we are located so it doesn't have too long to ship on the truck? It's cheaper then I can buy it at the store here too, but we don't have many local produce options.
I have had a lot of bad produce experiences with Azure. That said, I have had good experiences buying pears and apples from them. Cherries are always a disappointment.
Thank you ever so much for putting out this video. I am a new AS customer of only two months and I'm not 100% on board with them. I would really like to find a comparable alternative and looking forward to reading the comments here. I'm in North Carolina so if anyone knows of any good bulk shopping here I'd really would be interested. thank you all. PS: the reason AS delivers on Sundays is (and I am only guessing here) that they are a 7th Day Adventist company. Again, I am guessing as I notice they are closed on Saturdays, but open on Sundays. again, thank you all
Oh, I didn’t realize that about Saturday being their day of rest. That makes more sense! Bummer for us who don’t believe that way. I’m glad you enjoyed the video and hope some people have suggestions for you!
True... a better description is gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, peanut-free, but in our house we just say "allergen-free" because our household's allergies have been gluten and dairy. I doubt it matters what I call them though since someone with a tree nut allergy (or someone making them for someone with this allergy) is obviously not going to try the recipe. 😅

I don't buy their sugar anymore either. Way too course for baking.

And when you are in the PNW, there is no shipping fee. I think our fee is 9%. Which can easily change it from affordable to not such a good deal....
This is a good point!
@@jenniferr2057 Our fee here in NC is 8.5%, but I am sure it will be raised to 9% soon. Yet another reason to research comparable alternatives.
I so agree with not purchasing produce from Azure. I have found the same problem. After three orders and all of the fruit “sub-par” I decided enough.
Yes! Such a bummer because I feel like their produce used to be better.
I don't order produce from Azure. I did once and it was ok, but I live in a farming area and want to buy local.
Same!!
I bought sugar like that from somewhere else, what we end up doing is putting it in the blender to make it finer.
The produce/fruit is so bad now, I'm in the same state and get my drop same day it's loaded. Last drop we got a FULLY rotting box of peaches, meaning they 100% packed and willfully shipped rotting food.

Country Life Naturals in MI for grains- they ship free with a $99 order

Ya I really wish they wouldn't do this. I understand they are trying to fit all of the stops in, but it's probably a deal breaker for many.

Costco has the best price for organic maple syrup that I’ve been able to find.
