Im 28 years old. I tried alot of things in my life and in my 20s from professional wrestling to personal training, security, longhaul truck driving and more.
I recently left trucking because I want to start a family soon and I want a job I can work remote or come home every night at least.
I wouldnt consider myself smart Im really bad when it comes to tech I dropped out of high school, never been to college but Ive been watching your videos lately and I think I can really become a software enginner if Im smart and do this right.
I hear you say you went the self taught route so Im gonna do the same thing, Im working fulltime in a meh job right now but whatever free time I have I wanja learn how to code from scratch and give myself 1 to 2 years to find a hopefully be at the level to find a job doing it!

I've spent 10 years of my life playing video games or browsing the internet for a random things I found interesting, and I don't regret it one bit. I've learned more about life in those 10 years than my peers in college. I would regret it more if I've spent 10 years in the office, trying to force myself to believe that this rat race is all there is to life, slowing turning into the NPC. And I would certainly hate my life more if I turned 40 as a generic middle class suburban mortgage enjoyer who's constantly thinking about what he COULD HAVE done differently. I've never had any additions, and gaming was a choice. So yes, just because your experience with video games was playing Fortnite (or whatever the fuck they play on console, I don't know) and smoking weed, it doesn't mean it was the same for everybody.

Looking at what background you came from and what you achieved I got amazed especially knowing that you started coding in your early 30s already having kids and dealing with addictions . You’re a role model for most guys here . I love your honesty and being real . Keep it up!

At 29, here's what I would share with teenagers: steer clear of social media traps, avoid addictions like porn and drugs, and limit your intake of fast food and constant news. These habits can drain your energy and focus.
If you're religious, make time for prayer. It can create a positive routine and bring balance to your life.
Hold off on dating until you're at least 25. Use your time to grow, discover yourself, and build strong foundations for your future.
Stay close to your parents-communicate, help them, and cherish your time with them.
And remember, don’t let video games or movies consume all your time. Enjoy them in moderation, but prioritize your goals and self-development.
To be honest, the ages between 18 and 30 are some of the most critical years of your life. If you don’t spend them wisely, you may regret it later. Take control now, and set yourself up for success.

NO! I'm about to turn 24 in December, and I say it's not too late to be successful.
    It's never too late, bro.

Why do so many tech youtubers have such dark pasts? Like you and Prime are prime examples, pun not intended.

Its not about youtubers, we all are humans after all and have some kind of traumas negative emotions and problems, drugs pron video games are just coping mechanisms

@@barcodekilla1138 I realize that it's that everyone's either doing it or is super conforming, and therefore almost everyone has a dark past, or is extremely boring. I tried to forget about it for a couple minutes there. Well...

im 22, tehnicaly 23 soon , well iwasted ton of time on videogames and youtube too, i removed games and youtube got in place of them so. idk .. im still trying to quit however if im not on games im still not productive so whats the difference , i mean its easy to play vs doing something like learning new technologies for web dev or just level up math for personal stuff . out of games most of time spent was onto multiplayer games it would be better if i played minecraft .at least i would be left with awsome worlds as long as i dont loose them vs tousands of matches i dont remember and maybe few cool experiences. However youtube is also a big poison too and idk any kind of anxiety and blockers off lets go scroling ... its horrible .

In 2018 after HS I started studying at university for CS degree but dropped out during covid because of depression and j-ing off too much. In 2022-23 I tried to become a self taught web developer which amounted to grinding for couple weeks then slacking off few months and repeating this. Now AI is catching up so it's over. I dont know what to do. In my free time I surf google maps mindlessly.
But I don't care. I have Jesus. And food.

Do an hour or two a day every day. Just stare at the code, go slow. At night, your brain will make sense of it. Keep going, its like piano, everyone sucks at first and its really hard. The human brain has endless capacity to adapt. Eventually you will get times where you go "wow im really smart" every once in awhile when you solve a problem. It will become more and more often. dont underestimate the power of time. dont expect "crunch" like before finals studying 10 hours a day. do 1-2 hours a day and move on with your life. have another job at the same time. cut out corn, alcohol, weed. go to the gym. it can work, it is possible.

You look like you’re Wentworth Miller’s long lost brother, like you moonlit as a stunt double on prison break lol.
    Jks aside, appreciate your wisdom.
