Center is Irene the original visual 😊 at the beginning of their career, they did full Red or full Velvet then they are doing mix of Red, Velvet in various degrees. For me their main charm is 5 beautiful individual voices and heavenly vocal layers together. Maknae Yeri tends to get less lines or center time still RV might be the most balanced group. I can't predict what they will bring next time, but the quality is guaranteed including every single b-sides.
Red Velvet is so diverse that there's something for everyone. Bad Boy also has an English version. Equally as good. Psycho is really bitter sweet or me. It's such an amazing song with fantastic vocals but will always be marred because of the accident. Feel my rhythm is not a ballad, it's a bop. As for a bias it's tough but Wendy is actually 1 of my 2 ult biases but Seulgi hits really hard.

Psycho was released Dec 23, and the accident happened 25th, the group did not promote the song (obvi reasons) they did continue to go on tour but was cut short due to COVID. The song exploded and did have music show wins but bitter sweet because of everything.
The 'Dark Queen' concept in 'Feel My Rhythm' is worn by Seulgi, the actual soft teddy-bear of the group and their Main Dancer. She's even more introverted than a lot of other Idols, including Wendy. Seulgi and Wendy are best friends both within and outside of the group and they even made a duet song called 'Best Friend' which made it to Wendy's solo project album called 'Like Water'. Wendy made this album when she made her comeback after her accident.

Yeah so Red Velvet did release a ballad title track, but you haven’t reacted to it yet. It’s called “One Of These Nights”…you also reacted to their r&b velvet track “Automatic” as well. But you didn’t check out their single “Natural” which is also a cover of SM’s 1st gen girl group SES. That song also is a very velvet and r&b influenced. But for the most part Red Velvet has been doing a lot of experimental music recently. Sometimes it’s not clear if it’s Red or Velvet or RED + VELVET. You never know what concept and genre Red Velvet is going to do in their comebacks. It all depends on preference and sometimes some title tracks are “growers”.. at first it’s not your cup of tea..but then you end up listening to it non-stop. 😂

Yeah so Red Velvet did release a ballad title track, but you haven’t reacted to it yet. It’s called “One Of These Nights”…you also reacted to their r&b velvet track “Automatic” as well. But you didn’t check out their single “Natural” which is also a cover of SM’s 1st gen girl group SES. That song also is a very velvet and r&b influenced. But for the most part Red Velvet has been doing a lot of experimental music recently. Sometimes it’s not clear if it’s Red or Velvet or RED + VELVET. You never know what concept and genre Red Velvet is going to do in their comebacks. It all depends on preference and sometimes some title tracks are “growers”.. at first it’s not your cup of tea..but then you end up listening to it non-stop. 😂

The genius of their 'identity' is that it is built on those vocal arrangements - so that regardless of genre, concept, or instrumentation - they always sound like Red Velvet.

You can react to their Japanese songs like Wildside, Cookie Jar and Sappy Boy. Also, would recommend their summer songs like Red Flavor, Power Up, and Umpah Umpah. Their Bsides is too early for you, so if you want a ballad title track One of These Nights will be your go-to.

If Dreamcatcher didn't exist, then Red Velvet would probably be my ult for KPOP because the talent and the sheer variety of their output keeps them exciting. I guess I also have a soft spot for underdogs too; they really had to claw their way up and break into the Korean market when they really weren't that popular at home in the early years. Plus Seulgi.

Tashelters provided great info (~5 hrs before me) that I want to reiterate. 🛳 You really must learn about the Sewol ferry tragedy before watching "One of These Nights". Absolutely heartbreaking. 🎼 Re: "Feel My Rhythm", in addition to J.S. Bach's "Air on the G String", the bizarre visuals are based largely on 🖼 "The Garden of Earthly Delights" (ca. 1500) by Hieronymus Bosch, while much of the more pleasant garden scenes are Claude Monet, and others. IMO, some really fun RV MVs include: 🐺 "RBB" (Really Bad Boy) and 🏖 "Umpah Umpah". And eventually you'll watch Joy's delightful solo where she steals a dog and kidnaps a little girl. 😉
