Thanks, yes it is Definitely louder. Almost as loud as a hydra with a lower pitch and doesn’t sound like it has as many engagement point (which it doesn’t).
@@chimpwithabike5657 no problem, good to know! I currently have a 370 and it's a lot louder than most other low engagement hubs, so this one must be really loud. Did you need to install rim tape too or was the wheel fully tubeless ready?
Hey have yon ever road on I9 torch wheelset or I9 hydra hub wheelset. Which wheelset is better or does it basically have same engagement of i9 hydra wheelset
I have ridden it but never owned it (too broke for it lol) I would say it is not too far apart. I would compare the hydra to like a Ferrari of hubs, and the spank like a corvette. Ferrari might win overall but the corvette is gonna be right there with it most of the way (if that makes sense)
Got U if I would have known about spank hex 1 month ago I would have definitely tried them out. But got a used i9 hydra rear wheel for a good price so Ferrari it shall be.
Get rid of those nasty factory grease and put good quality Lube into the freehub. You'll end up with much more crispy and loud Hub sound and fast af Hub engagement.
@@chimpwithabike5657 first u need to use degreaser to get rid of all the grease, but don't spread degreaser into the Hub because they would damage ur bearings, spray onto a blue shop towel and clean up the grease. Then u put 1 or 2 drops of oil into each pawl and its spring, and 1 Or 2 drops of oil on the drivering. Use ur finger to tap each pawls lots of times so the oil can work its way in, and spread the oil on the drivering with ur finger. Oil u can use expensive special Hub oil Or WD-40 wet Chain Lube, Or something better, muc-Off wet chain Lube, Or fancy stuff like muc-Off wet ceramic Lube.
@@chimpwithabike5657 I'm thinking about getting the wheels when it's back in stock. Loads of good reviews out there and good price. Very attractive. Where did u get them from?
I’ve heard of them but never had a chance to ride them. Had to look up the video on what the king difference is. Looks pretty damn solid (and expensive)
“Pawls” my friend. “Sprawls” is what your girl does with her legs, lol.
😂
I bet you don't have a girl.
🤣🤣🤣
Yes it is true once U go higher engagement U never go back
3 sets of i9 1 hydra set 2 torch sets never going back
They are called pawls and the gear set is called a cassette not a hub. So you added the cassette to the wheel not a hub to a hub...
nice video, this is the most in depth overview/installation ive seen of this hub! Would you say this hub is louder than the 370?

Nice rims! Looking at getting a pair myself, just got to wait till they are in stock....
Sprawls 😂 Thanks for the review!
Hello mate is that a straight pull. Can I know the length of the spoke thanks
These are straight but think they changed to all j-hook on their wheels now.
it´s called pawls :) inside is the drivering
Sounds like dartmoor reel pro 102T
Is new 350 rim same as old rim with no number on ?
That I’m not sure I know they had changed up the line up, I believe to make it simpler

That’s awesome, congrats
Spank Hex is louder than i9 Torch and Hydra?
Yes and no. I would say it close but a different pitch on the sound. The hydra sounds more high pitched and like there are more angry bees.
@@chimpwithabike5657 Maybe more close to Torch, not Hydra.
Perhaps, I’ve never heard a torch in person that I know so can’t say.
what is the wheel called ?
I got the Spank 359
@@chimpwithabike5657 thanks

I’ve been using some white synthetic stuff from
FastLine. But what would you recommend to use?

I’ll give it a try
Good luck, tell me what you think when you get them
Bah. High engagement yes but it still employs pawls. Let me ride it, I will shatter that shit. King hub ftw.
😂 come on down let’s ride and let me try out the king and you can shatter mine and get I can get a warranty replacement lol
