That is the most metal thing I've ever heard.
I didn't know people didn't know real hair wigs exist.
I've seen those before, hell I've donated my hair to places that make them, but the fact you snipped off your own hair and put it in your cosplay wig? And you said it so casually; that's pretty different and badass! I didn't see it coming!
Hahaha! My hair has always been long so whenever I trim it it's a lot of leftover hair! Not enough (or quality) to donate, but enough to be a shame to throw away! So I saved it and found use for it!
That's flipping genius, girl! Use what you got! Keep up the amazing work. I showed my mother a few of your side-by-sides the other day and she was absolutely convinced you just pasted pictures of Jack and Lightning next to photos of you. I had to show her video evidence!

Seriously though! I love this cosplay so so so much as Jack/Depp/POTC is my favorite character/actor/movie series on earth and this is so neat! And I am so impressed re-watching the intro. You have every nuance of Jack Sparrow down, from the movements of his arms and fingers to his facial expressions. You could seriously work at one of the Disney parks as him, or something. It's mind boggling how on point your cosplays are.

My fur babies are always nearby, especially my pug. Something about putting on that costume makes me automatically get into character, I feel it's the same for others with this costume too! It's such a fun character to be. :)
Alyson Tabbitha whenever I cosplay, one of my favourite things is to really get into character and play the role too! So I totally get it. I even try to do the voices too, if I'm particularly fond of a voice.
And it's nice your fur babies just played in the background. If those were my cats, they'd be walking up and down whatever I'm working on and biting it, haha

Woah, you kind of look like Winona Ryder in Edward Scissorhands. Could you maybe do a cosplay on Kim sometime?! You would look amazing!
Amazing! This is so much simpler than how I made mine. I just used a cat brush and tangled and backcombed the hair until it looked something like dreads. Never would have thought of using acrylics either!
additionally afro kinky bulk hair is easier it dreads up like a dream and its what they used on potc :D

For the acrylic paint I just suggest mixing with water or fabric medium (to get diluted paint or fabric paint) so that it's more flexible.

Glad to know I'm not the only person who uses acrylic paint as fabric dye! Very clever putting it on the wig dreds. I made a custom Jack Sparrow Blythe doll years ago. Making dreds by backcombing and using wax is so time consuming! I actually put the materials in my purse so I could make dreds while waiting to pick up my kids!

Your job is so perfect ! I looked on the internet to buy a Jack Sparrow wig, because I don't think I'm able to do what you did, but they were horrible. Then I was looking for cosplayers pics, to see how were their wigs and where they got it. But you definitely have the best wig. No other one is so realistic like yours !

I am really picky because I can tell the difference between what I wanted and what was there because I look at Captain Jack so much.
