Two main reason i like extension. If the head flips over then breaks its less expensive to replace AND built in counterweight.

I use my extension head on angle bracket for the AD200 when shooting weddings

I can't get my hands on the EC200 locally - is the cable fairly flexible or rather „stiff”?

Not sure how to quantify it, but you can see how it can be squeezed into my case. What’s your main concern?

@@FilNenna Thank you, if the EC200 doesn't feel too stiff for on-camera-use it will be probably fine.
I've had bad cables (too „stiff” or getting „sticky”) from other MFGs in the past. I will give the EC200 a try.
