Being a PS5 owner i can honestly say the dual sense is the best arcade style realistic controller I've ever played..you can literally feel the gun jam in COD its crazy

im a xbox user but honestly i used the dualshock and it was so hard to use i dont really like it but different pepole have different preferences

It was about time, it’s like youtubers are afraid to directly compare the two lmao.
Prolly coz the dual sense kinda beats it in every way. From an objective standpoint (i have both consoles and love both equally), the dual sense truly does feel like an upgrade, whereas the xbox controller feels like a refresh, with barely any new features.
There's actually a lot of videos amd a lot of people is say that the dual sense is better cuz of the next gen features

Remember that the dualsense has a touchpad, microphone, gyroscope and a speaker too. Its simply a far more capable controller.

Like at the beginning Im gonna be like wow this is cool my controllers vibration is stronger when im walking on grass and R2 vibrates when Im shootin.. but after some time im gonna turn it off because i dont want to charge my controller all the time. It was the same with vibration... In the beginning awesome but after some time everyones gonna turn it off because its getting annoying.
And yeah the microphone sounds cool but only if it has a good quality becauuuse... I dont want 5 y old kids talking with their cheap controller microphones all the time lol
Really, I don't give a shit about any of those and I know a lot of people are the same way. The Xbox Controller is easily the most comfortable controller on the market.
Simply far more capable in what sense? Want to steer a car with your controller? Get a steering wheel, want to hear in game radio/phone calls better? Get a headset. All these unnecessary features do not make it a more capable controller. Haptic feedback was first in the xbox controller when the og xbox one came out. Ps5 controller is now closer to an xbox one controller than a ps4. #catchupsony
The PS4 controller for some reason made my hands cramp up, so much to the point that I stopped playing the PS4 because how uncomfortable it was for me. They fixed this issue for big hand people on the new controller. Very comfortable. Also the haptic feedback works REALLY well. I thought it was going to be a stupid gimmick but nope, it really is an amazing upgrade!
Same for me. The left thumbstick is held forward like 95% of the time. And some games, I had to click it in a LOT to sprint. So you're basically holding it forward, but sideways and also having to apply oressure which just feels heavier as you keeo doing it. And after 6 hours of that, I decided to never get a PlayStation. And I used to play on my friend's PS3 a lot. Those controllers, even the extended hand grips, were the WORST and most RETARDED controllers I've ever had to use
While the PS5 controller is definitely better and more comfortable than the previous, the symmetry will always remain as the most stupid controller layout ever designed smh. Xbox and Nintendo are the only ones who know how to make controllers
As someone who grew up around Xbox, Nintendo, and PC, my left thumb can not remain extended back that far for long as opposed to my right thumb which is going back and forth between the button and camera stick
i’ve used an xbox series x controller with my xbox ONE x for nearly a year now and i’ve never been able to play with my cousin’s dual sense. it’s comfortable to hold, but the way it’s shaped still throws me off, and i find myself reaching for buttons a little strangely
i will say, it looks a lot cleaner than the xbox controller’s simple and modern look (which with the redesign i love) but it’s an interesting controller. i think i’d take an xbox controller despite the lack of features

@@hazelskiesalt Been looking for an Xbox controller for my PC. Is the Series X controller any good? Has it drifted for you yet? I've been using a Switch ProCon for 3 and a half years now with no issues. I don't wanna buy the Xbox controller if it's not gona last as long
@@cqllel5186 it is amazing, the grips feel so good, the shape is even better for people with any hand sizes, the bumpers are probably my favorite part because of how nice the click feels
I've accidentally dropped it once and had a cousin drop it, both were pretty bad but no drift whatsoever. It's also really responsive

im getting an xbox (just because I can't afford to get both) and I didn't think I would say this since I really didn't like the DualShock 4 and I LOVED the xbox one controller, but I am very envious of the dual sense. it looks fresh and comfortable (even tho I still think the xsx controller will still feel great) and it has features like adaptive triggers and haptic feedback that sound SO GOD DAMN COOL! seriously, and this is coming from an xbox user, Sony has really outdone themselves with this. Microsoft definitely could have added a few more features or changes I feel like with the new controller, but I guess I can understand why they would play it safe

But the reality is it will probably be like the touch pad, cool in theory used in a few games but actualy no big deal.

@@westinbye yes, definitely! I'm mainly jealous of the adaptive triggers since that just sounds amazing, but I also wouldn't be surprised if it did get forgotten about after a few launch games, now that you mention it
Finally someone mentioned the friction ring song took too long to give us.
Using the DualSense to play on PC and love it. It is as comfy in hand as the Xbox One controllers. Also don't mind the inline sticks as much on it due to the size of the controller. Doesn't feel as awkward as on the PS3 and PS4 controllers.

I miss the colored face buttons from the PS4 controller. I hope they release one in black, with those face buttons in color.
i want a cheaper one with no specal triggers and the xbox labels/colors so i can use it on pc. not including the steam controller the ps stick placement is the best and i currently use an sn30 pro+ on pc when i don't want to use a steam controller.
@@bland9876 Most games nowadays made in the last 5 years or so have it so they switch between Xbox or Playstation button prompts based on the controller you have plugged in. I use a Dualshock 4 and got used to that so it's weird now when I play older games that don't have it.
@@pbrunet44 I've never played on any kind of PlayStation so I would prefer it to just stick with Xbox prompts I even have the Nintendo controller setting in Steam set to Xbox prompts

I bought rechargeable AA batteries for my controller before I got my elite controller, and I honestly preferred that because they last so much longer than regular batteries and when they are dead I can charge them and plop two new ones in
Having a battery bay where you can choose to use AA or buy a 3rd party rechargeable kit is far superior to being stuck with an in-built battery that will deteriorate over time, especially with Sony's track record for controller battery life.

@@alexc7864 I haven't used either, though I do have an Xbox 360 (which I own) controller and an Xbox One (don't own) controller. Won't buy either of this gen's consoles or controllers, but I will buy the Steam controller 2.0 if they make one. The discontinued SC is leagues ahead of the Xbone and Dualshock controllers, but is slightly inferior to the Dualsense (IMHO). I really like the lengthened handles of the Dualsense, reminds me of the 8bitdo SN30 pro (regarded as the best third party controller of all time by many people).

At this time I still prefer the DualShock 4 to the DualSense. The controller is comfortable, don’t get me wrong... but something feels off in my hands on the the thinner part of the end of the handles like he suggests in this video. I also prefer the more clicky feeling of the face buttons on the dualshock4. The bumpers are quite a bit larger leaving my index fingers lower towards the back of the controller when I’m in a neutral position and am in between bumper/trigger presses. It’s a comfortable controller... but will take some getting used to. I still prefer the comfort of the One controller and the Switch Pro Controller and I think that’s mostly from the offset analog sticks. I like all three controllers well enough.
Everyone seems to be hating on the Xbox for not having an advanced controller, first of all have you heard of the elite controller? Second of all they put their money into making the console stronger instead of the controller, which in my opinion is more important.

Suppose Xbox went with the not broken dont change. Obviously haven't seen either controller in person but I think the changes Sony has made seem for the better. IMO a slightly larger controller definitely sounds like a good idea.
The DualSense is just a copy of the Xbox Controller with gimmicks. It just shows how desperate Sony are because they know Xbox is going to destroy them this gen. Just like how they overclocked the specs last minute

@@anotherguy12 not true. The touchpad can be used for way more features that developers just don't know how to use. Like it can be used as a quick access menu. While the gyroscope is used for gyro aiming. A feature that a lot of people prefer over stick aiming if the know about it. But not enough people know about it. So that's why not enough people talk about it.
Also, if you don't like gyro aiming, that's fine. I'm saying it should be an option. But just like how I shouldn't force players to use gyro aiming, you shouldn't force people into using stick aiming
Look at the steam community. They use features of the ps4 controller that developers just don't use

PS: any previous points of me defending gyro aiming are just precautions. I have had many people just say gyro aiming is shit and it should not be an option without any solid arguements
@@anotherguy12 the ps5’s controller features are not gimmicks, a lot of well respected reviewers have praised it, including Skillup who is very blunt and honest about his opinions. I don’t know what you mean by saying Sony have just copied the Xbox controller, because it closely resembles the ps4 controller, your just mad that Xbox didn’t do anything new with their controller and people have been moving their attention to the ps5 controller. Just accept the fact that the ps5 controller is more innovative and arguably a better “next gen” experience.

No one is mentioning the feel of the buttons. The buttons on the one's controller were harder to push down which I didn't like, but on the series' controller you can put MUCH less pressure and the buttons will be pressed (im talking abxy buttons). I really like the series x controller, the d pad feels like I can actually use it
Exactly I just switched to the ps5 and the control positioning feels awkward the LS and RS being next to each other is annoying and clicking dpad while gaming feels like a challenge since the buttons positions and the press

Lotta people told me I was overreacting when I used to complain about the DualShock 3 and even 4 size (DS4 was incredible for comfort though).
Glad I was vindicated and the DualSense should work nicely for my big hands.
How did you make a comparison between these two controllers without mentioning the biggest difference between them, asymmetrical vs symmetrical analog stick placement? I switched from the Xbox 360 to the PS4 this generation, even after years I couldn’t get totally used to the symmetrical sticks, especially for log gaming sessions. This is one of the reasons why I’ve preordered the Series X instead of the PS5, even though the Dualsense is objectively the more advanced controller.
Real gamers aren’t phased by joystick placement.
AA Batteries are great, you allways have a replacement set of fully charged ones around. No need to wire it up for a couple hours.
Started to really appreciate it with the Steam Controller and atm its my main gripe with Sony's controller, considering the awfully short time you get out if a charge.
Exactly. Rechargeable built in is a terrible idea. If u the consumer really want a rechargeable. Theycan just buy the battery pack.AND That will still be better and easier than it built in. Last longer too. That's the only problem with playstation.But the option to just pack a pack of fully charge is great. A third party ps5 controller maker should make A controller that can use double aas like the xbox. So it would be easier to replace. When battery spoil

Because they had the same controllers for 3 old, slow generations that progressed every couple of years. We've been waiting for 7 years for a new generation, and even after 7 years Xbox hasn't innovated in their controllers. So, that's why.

I agree with everything except the part with AA batteries. I would rather have a controller that I replace them a couple of times than losing him because of that. I still have my 360 controller and is functional. Ps5 controller cost a lot to replace too...

But, it could have at least come with a rechargeable replacable battery. The 8bitdo sn30 pro + comes with a replaceable rechargeable battery that can be replaced with AA batteries. And that one is cheaper and has more features. So microsoft has no excuse
You can actually replace the battery on PS controllers it’s not hard at all you unscrew the back off unplug the battery plug new one in screw back on it’s easy plus the battery replacements are cheap on ebay

Why does nobody mention the xbox rumble triggers when comparing controllers? I love the feel of them in forza horizon 4.
Cause this is not a fair comparison DualShock is not at is full power nobody knows its potential depending in the gameplay we will find out what controller is better

Happy medium, Rechargeable double A's. i have 8 panasonic recharegeable fully chaged at any time (for flash photgraphy) so i only need seconds to swap out

I really like the look of the Ps5 controller. 2 tone colors look great and I can't wait to try the haptics on the controller.
But I don't hate the Xbox controller it's just that there are not many changes to it. I wish it had rechargeable batteries. But other things are great already so they don't have to change that. Also I like they have added the new share button.

@CT-1409 ?? I’m saying like when the PS4 was out, they coulda have that regular small size and made a bigger size for people like me vice versa for the PS5 cuz women play video games too and might prefer a smaller controller just how I preferred a bigger controller when the PS4 was out
After holding them both, I think the Dualsense just feels like a premium product. The new XB controller feels kind of hollow and reminds me of the cheap feel the Dualshock 3 had. It may have tightened up some of the button designs but the shell and build feel cheap.
This won't be a dealbreaker to those who prefer the XB layout, but as someone who prefers the Sony controller layouts, given the improvements and quality put into the Dualsense, I'd take it hands down.
I love the colored buttons and the shape of the joys of the Xbox Controller, I would swapped those those the Dualsense 5 and keep the body of the Dualsense :)

Honestly I would rather have batteries I can replace, even though the ps controller is rechargeable, batteries degrade over time so that’s a reduction of playtime before you have to (in Sony’s case) replace the whole controller.
$60 controller vs a $25 recharge kit or a set of rechargeable AA batteries that cost $10.
It’s extremely easy to replace the battery on PS controllers it’s simple unscrew the back unplug the battery and put in the new one they’re also very cheap on eBay I’ve been doing it for years

I've never had to replace either battery or controller for my PS4 and I've had it since 2017.I don't want to be buying AA batteries all the time and there is a chance they could leak.
had the ps4 since lounch and the batteries of 2 of my 3 controllers are working perfectly, even i am amazed about how much it last sometimes lol.

I love the dualsense. It's crazy what it can do. The only thing I wish Sony did was curve the bottoms like on the dualshock 4.

at 6:37 when you talk about the cut off edges....the funny thing is that I like it cause I rest my pinky fingers under all controllers (switch, ds4, xbox) and having the flat cutoff edge is perfect to rest my pinky against it. I actually wonder if sony did that on purpose just for me.....yeah, probably not ;) but overall, I do like the dualsense a lot. when the dualshock 4 came out, I liked that a lot too. dualsense is a good step in the right direction.
I agree. Jumping from my PS3’s DualShock 3 to my PS4’s DualShock 4 out of the box felt like a world of difference. A super substantial upgrade. The DualSense seems like x10 the jump from the DualShock 4 and I’m all for it.

Yep! Simple and no tools. I must admit though that I have never had to replace a PS4 controller.

Imo the buttons have a similar feel to the ps4, but they press almost smoother, and are MUCH quieter. They don't move around as much either when holding one of the buttons down. I actually prefer this new version.
The only two things I care about in a controller are comfort and battery life. Few developers will probably use the technology in the DualSense anyway, rather trade some of those extra features for longevity.
Exactly the DualShock 4 had a pad on the front and it was never used in any game lol
the way a game feels is really important to me so the ps5 is the best for me

@@rodzwrld Most games use the pad, normally for maps or inventory. You can pinch it to control zoom like you would on a laptop trackpad, or swipe it to change pages. In tomb raider you can swipe it to light torches and the controller glows red. In ghosts of tsushima you swipe it to show the wind direction which shows where your objective is, and the noise of the wind comes from the controller. Swipe it another way to sheath your sword. I'm currently playing Metro Exodus and you use the pad to bring up your map, and the geiger counter noise comes from the controller.

The most important thing by far is the thumb sticks. And battery life. Xbox is still ahead.

One important feature you forgot to mention. The xbox controller is fully backward compatible and also compatible with all your older controller attatchment like eg. your xbox one controller keyboard. That's very consumer friendly. Also swappale batteries in the xbox controller is a good thing. If your batteries die in the playstation controller most people will just throw out the controller and be forced to buy a new one. That being said Im very interested in the haptics on the playstation. I wish they'd make both controllers compatible with each other. Wouldn't that be neat?
But it is so easy to replace the DS4 or DualSense battery lmao. I never heard of a case like that before either. I'm not trying to poke fun or whatever, but it's kinda stupid to not have rechargeable batteries at this point...

Casuals will throw away their controller, yeah. But this generation is obviously more catered to core gamers who are more in tune with gaming and their tech, so they're more likely to get it taken care of. Plus, batteries that will die in a couple weeks vs batteries that will(might) die in years from now is an entirely different thing

My only complaint would be the stick drift that's not been fixed by Sony. They didn't bother because they know people will just buy shit. Typical of them for sure
Apart from that, I loved DS4, and I'll definetely enjoy DualSense more than DS4 since it's a slightly better fit for my hands.
As for the Xbox controllers, I never really liked the unpararelled analog sticks, and also the design of the controller wasn't anything special for me. I did enjoy the pro switch controller and its battery that could literally last for decades tho

I like the compatibility of the xbox series x controller, but I like the design of the dualsense better. The placement of the left analog stick doesn't really matter to me. I've played PS and xbox controllers already and I can't rememder, that I had problems with one of them. I only remember the buttons of the dualshock 3 and I didn't like them because they where really spongy, I like it better if it has something like a click in the button if you press it. I don't know which controller feels better in my hand, that's pretty bad because it might end this nightmare. What do you guys think?

The Xbox controller has native compatility with pc games, the ps5 has faster response times, but it will probably not use any of the new features on pc games, because the developers will not program the games for it, there is non financial interest to do so. Only ps5 exclusives will use the full potential of the controller, for example Ghost of Tsushima on the ps5 version uses all the haptic feedback features, the cross platform AC Valhalla made a small adaptive trigger response to the bows, but that was just lame.
I have always been a PC gamer and both Series S and PS5 are my first consoles. So, you can imagine how terrible my aims and movements were for the initial few weeks of playing with controllers.
Initially, I was too impressed with the dual sense controller thanks to Astro’s Playroom. The haptics are amazing and adaptive triggers are definitely next gen.
But after spending more time with each of these systems, I prefer the xbox controller simply because I always feel more in control with the in-game action when I play with it. I don’t care if for some people it is offensively similar to last gen or it doesn’t have any “ground breaking next gen features”.
The xbox controller is ergonomically spot on for my hands. Smaller size, tactile buttons, crunchy clicky D-pad and off-set concave sticks. It gets the basics right!! It’s only after playing for hours and hours I have came to this realisation.

It's sad to see no one mentioning that the xbox one controller have haptics back in 2013 and impulse triggers which isn't as impressive as the adaptive triggers on the dualsense but is a really nice feature especially in Forza and halo.
They had nothing that the ds4 didn't have lol. ds5 haptics are far superior

For anyone who has a Dualsense Controller right now but no PS5 here's how you can use the Dualsense with your PS4 this has ben working with me for the past few days, so it might work fo you too.
Here's What you do
:
Step 1: Download Playstation Remote Play on your PC.
Step 2: Plug your Dualsense Controller to your PC with a USB Type C Cable (It Needs to be plugged in the controller Will NOT WORK Wirelessly on PS4)
Step 3: Link your PS4 to Remote Play on your PC
Step 4: Play
What I do is I launch Remote Play on my PC and I change the Input to the HDMI Input that my PS4 is Plugged into so I can Play my PS4 Games with my Dualsense and not get the crappy Resolution Quality but Instead I get the Full 4K Image, and yes the Vibration will work through this method, though maybe not as intended as the PS4 Games were not made with the Dualsense's Haptic Feedback and Adaptive triggers in mind. As far as I know this method only works through Remote Play on PC I haven't tried it on a phone or other device, but I recommend giving it a try If you have a PC, Dualsense Controller, and a USB Type C Cable.

Without a doubt give me something that supports a battery standard like AA so I can replace batteries easily. Everyone knows batteries have limited lifetime.
Why do I need to pay an extra 20 bucks for recharge batteries? That intrinsically makes the Xbox controller cost more. If they shipped with the recharge pack and allowed you to swap I think that’s be fine, but it really comes off as a money saving move rather than a pro-consumer move.

Well good thing Ive got the Elite Wireless 2 controller, I hate that circle D-Pad on the new controller, its the first thing I replaced on the Elite controller!
In term of battery, Rechargeable AA battery is the answer. It is cheep, universal and easy to get. Why we need special rechargeable battery just for this controller? If the batteries run out mid game I can just swap with spare rechargeable AAs and continue playing immediately while recharging the old one. I can stay wireless all the time.
On the other hand, for my Sixaxis, Dual Sense, xbox Elite II and Switch Pro controller, If my battery run out while playing, I have to connect the usb cable and keep conscious about the wire for the whole session.
I don't think the Xbox controller needed much improvement, and I like the lack of all the bells and whistles, as I feel they are usually frivolous. That being said, Sony is making really good headway, the controller looks great, it's really growing on me the more I see it.
I prefer the symmetrical sticks for my, you know, symmetrical hands. Anyway, I only see one next gen controller and that's the DualSense. The Xbox Series X controller is an Xbox One controller with 2013's hot new share button added.
I use the Xbox One controller (the latest revision) on PC because I bought it back when the DualShock 4 was not officially supported. I'm going to replace it with a DualSense as soon as I get confirmation the controller is officially supported on PC.
It's more than a Xbox one controller with a share button. It's an evolution of a damn near perfect controller. The reason people are really liking the new PlayStation controller is because it's more similar to an Xbox controller and because the dualshock is shit. Go ahea, praise something because it's even more like the thing you think is less appealing. Yeah, you just did that.

@8:55 hard no - makes the controller cost 20 dollars less vs the ps5 controller. Option, sure, but not mandatory then you see a guaranteed increase in cost. I think I still like the Xbox controller better, but I'm certain the resistance on the triggers and the rumble motor solution in the ps5 controller are clear advantages - they do come at a short term cost, and won't be fully utlized for a few years likely (basically all the games at that point will make good use of it, developers take some time to 'get good implementing it' although we already have some gold examples of how it can be used to awesome effect). Still... was confused the first time i saw the ps5 controller, i didn't realize what it was, i thought it was after market or something. It looks more 'gamey' and flashy, like the after market ones, not a fan of the two tone, its like its trying to hard visually.
Did they fix the analogs in ps5 not to have problems like ps4 had? Or we will buy every 2 months a new controller?
It has a touchpad,Built in speaker,haptics,adaptive triggers, microphone and a gyroscope it's simply the superior controller.
Most of which will never be used by players or developers. Not saying the other is better but what should be prioritized is comfort, not features. Sony have a habit of just slapping a bunch of useless featuress on their products.
More stuff to stop working in the controller. I haven't bought a game console in over 15 years and PC game which most of my games do not support PlayStation controllers some of the newer ones give you a choice between the two, but I have probably only one or 2 of them with that option.

own both, all those fancy features they talk about for the ps5 i just find im never using at all, and the handles and overall form factor is far worse on the dual sense, i got big hands, and the series x just feels perfect for em
I've been using Xbox one controller on PC. Just purchased a charging dock. I was going to buy a second Xbox x controller. But as I would have to buy another recharge dock. I bought dualsense instead. As it's got a rechargeable battery. Plus I will be getting a PS5 once they are in stock. To go alongside my gaming PC.
I really liked this review. It was very neutral and not a fanboy review like "OMG, the DualSense is the best controller ever, it's better than Xbox" or "The Xbox controller is still the best because it is what it is". All those points you mentioned were things I already knew since they revealed the DualSense. It is a much better version of the DualShock 4 but it won't beat the SX controller. Both will be on one level and that's a pretty good thing for Sony to finally match Microsoft with their controller. In terms of feeling I think the SX controller will feel better over the years and most PC gamers will still use it but the DualSense will benefit from its features and that will make the controller a great one too.
I also think Microsoft could've shipped the SX controller with rechargeable batteries or at least a Play&Charge kit instead of simple AA batteries but at least you have 3 options to recharge your controller while Sony only gives you one option and if the DualSense battery life is just a little bit better than the DualShock 4 battery life, multiple options would be nice.

@@kay94 they are almost the exact same except the movement feels a little smoother but the texture and shape along with the distance between them feel the same as the ds4. The only changes i see are in the overall shape and the RL1 and RL2 feel much better

I actually think the ps controller suffers from a few problems that are because its design is older. It initially did not have joysticks then they slapped some on the bottom but they did not have the chance to see how people used joy sticks. Xbox came out after and designed the system to control 3d motion. That is why almost every 3rd party controler to come out since shares alot with the Xbox controller.
That said the new feature on the dual sense will be wicked cool if developers use it.

Got a duelsense for my pc and it feels very nice, is kinda like Xbox controller and PS4 controller had a baby. Unfortunately ffxiv doesn’t work properly with it right now.
