Hit him with the stupid weapon, get under him and get out! If u can work a T bolt in- do so. Watching you slide under him to bait the orbs was super helpful. Knowing also i can shake outta the flames or ice helped. But its that ninja gaiden orb baiting thanks a million buddys
@@Drayiss also the save states on the collection would only let me retry from wily machine. it was all for the better because now its in the past and im sad. thank you, on to mm8
@@Drayiss well imagine dying at this guys machine foot after 50 times u give up certainly when i was 10( super happy w e containers atleast) , its much like last boss on ninja gaiden . Im now on 8. Very much appreciating the beauty of these games. Thanks again i will be back most likely if u got mm8 help
@ Heh fair fair! The only thing I really need to say is to use the Rush healing item once you get it. There’s these icons on the “Item” pause menu tab, and the fourth one makes Rush shower you in health items. It’s pretty good considering there’s no E-tanks this time around. Though despite that, 8 is a relatively easy game, barring some moments using the Thunder Claw, and the first Wily stage. Speaking of, hold up while using the Mega Ball to kick it at a higher angle. It could help a ton with one boss in particular!
just want to thank you for this guide video man. That Thunderbolt orb cancel was the exact thing I needed to defeat this boss and get the gold medal in Legacy Collection 2. Gonna be sure to spread this around. Thank you again man.
I’d have to guess that when they first “flinch”, the game checks Mega Man’s position, and creates some kind of vector that the orbs will move along. Something like (MegaX - OrbX, MegaY - OrbY). I think then the game also makes sure that they travel at a set speed, and only for a certain number of frames; that way they only travel so far. Maybe that involves changing the magnitude of the vector to be consistent each time. Then the game probably does the same calculation once the “homing” phase starts, but this time they just keep moving until they go offscreen. I can’t imagine the logic is much more intensive than that
An impressive inquiry into a terrifying boss ! It will be a treasure trove for perfect runners, I'm sure !

Hehe no worries! Glad it helped, and trust me, it took a while to figure out how to move those orbs where I wanted them!

@ Heh that’s true! The first form is luckily not majorly awful, but it takes a little while

Glad it helped! Once you learn about that hidden quirk, it can definitely give you that extra push you need to get through the fight
This boss is so difficult that they have to make guides to beat him lol
I struggled so long on this boss until I watched this video and than I beat it first try Thanks so much! :D
Glad it helped!
i beat him thanks to you
What I'm trying to figure out is... what exactly is the math behind what the orbs are actually doing? Like what is their logic?
