Love these starter upgrades. I've been upgrading them along with. So much so that I've run out of uncommon wildcards. I think my kid needs this kind of thing so they'll have room to grow from the starter stuff they like. I wouldn't mind seeing the 'non-rare/mythic' restriction removed for a second tier deck builds. That might also be a great way to introduce the actual meta as well. These videos were such a good idea, and not enough people bother with it.
I pulled a scavenger's talent from the free bloomburrow deck and it goes INSANE with this deck. Experimental Conf. spawns endless rats for all the food you sac, which mills the opponent and then you can use the rats as sac fodder for Talent again and pull stuff from the graveyard to the field
Crazy that Tough Cookie wasn't in the original build. Maybe trying to balance all of the decks for the Starter Deck Challenge?? I think another interesting series of videos to do would be to demo how to play the starter decks within the limited environment of the Starter Deck Challenge itself. I enjoy replaying that event to do my daily quests. Knowing the ins and outs of those decks within the challenge is a skill that can serve you well all year. I think it would be a good series for you as I also really enjoy your play + commentary videos.
Technically these Food cards are mostly from Eldraine/Bloomburrow, but you might be further ahead buying packs from the newest set. You get a golden pack every 10 packs you buy, which contains 6 extra rares, so it's the best value for filling your collection.
I actually just posted a no-budget version of the deck! :) Here are the links: Gameplay video: th-cam.com/video/G8_xq4MXiZA/w-d-xo.html Decklist on Moxfield: moxfield.com/decks/Yd6yy_hgGkSRCFrLO-N5TA
Honestly I've had such bad luck with this deck, I think that these days budget decks are almost impossible to play with even at low ranks as almost everyone has some kind of uber deck nowadays.
“Gyome, Master Chef”would be really good in this deck

What an awesome upgrade! Built out the suggested expensive deck and have had a blast with Ygra on an absolute tear
Been waiting for this one. Have been wanting to play a food deck but wanted to wait until this upgrade guide
Thank you for this! I’ve been playing this deck (the budget version) for a few days and have never had this much success in the game before.
Great, now I'm hungry again. Love these upgrade videos.

Great video, thank you very much! How about showcasing some games with the upgraded decks? Just if you have the time and need video ideas...
very lovely video
I was looking for a video like this for a while. Are you thinking about making upgrades for the mono-color starter decks ?
Mine says 2 non format cards when I try to play it. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
My guess is the format is set to Alchemy. You can change that by clicking the deck box in the deckbuilder and switching it to Standard. :)
When "Ygra, Eater of All " is in play, you can't target enemy minions with "Go for the Throat"
hey i’m pretty new to magic, which packs should i open to try to get these cards that i don’t have yet?

Hi where can i find the best version of this? Including rare and mythicals?

Since ''Go for the Throat'' isnt standard anymore, what card you would recommend instead of that?
"Murder" 2 black 1 mana, destroy target creature instead is what I found so far
cool nice deck
