Really early salt scoop in match 1 game 3. Ugin can't exile the Splendor and you had the mana to be able to hard cast a Curse of Misfortunes and restart the curse cycling. If they had enchantment removal for that CoM then I'd say that's a fair spot to scoop, but conceding before Ugin dropped was too soon.
Why did you scoop against Eldrazi Tron game 3? Ugin doesn’t wipe Splendor, and you could’ve cast the other curse next turn and tutored for Cruel Reality right?
I love Seth's content, but sometimes it feels like he scoops when it stops being easy to win, rather than it actually being impossible. I kind of get it though, when you're making content for other people a lot of them don't want to sit through a slog to see what happens.
@@gryphon669 It isn't really a slog though. A slog is when you are facing control with a grip of cards thinking you still have a chance when you don't.
@15:12 "I mean, the thing about drunken stumbling is, you never know where you're gonna end up. sometimes you drunkenly stumble exactly where you want to go" *instant classic*
17:30 Does ugin even win here? You have mana for misfortunes (in hand copy) and ugin can't get rid of that the following turn. Which allows you to get cruel reality and kill it.
My brother-in-law: "Eldrazi and Taxes? It's just worse Death and Taxes! Eldrazi Tron is just worse Tron!" I think of this whenever Seth plays Eldrazi Tron and is happy.
@@MTGGoldfish Match 1 Game 3 you could of fought it out. As everyone said it was still playable. Also in the hardened scales matchup they could of missed the pendlehaven trigger. Im just saying wait for them to do it then once its on the stack concede. I know i've messed up and skipped through some triggers on both MTGO and MTGA. I still love the content, its just annoying to see the (i feel early) concede
@@MTGGoldfish you definitely scooped early to Ugin in game 3 match 1. Didn't have the loyalty to get rid of all your enchants, and if they had ticked up to do that, you could have used your curses to force them to sack ugin before they'd get a chance to nuke the board
I don't know about anyoke else but I find it hilariously ironic that the Reality Smasher became a victim of the Cruel Reality. It's like it didn't smash hard enough the first time and life came and bit it in the ass lol
At 47:10 I believe I see a line to the win on that turn. On your upkeep you sacked the solitary confinement to draw cards but if you had used the discard trigger to put curse of thirst into the graveyard, milled yourself with glimpse to get at least one or two more curses into the yard and then finale of promised another resurgent belief you would have had a very high chance of killing on the opponents upkeep, or at least the following turn. Glad it didn't matter in the end!
Is it maybe worth playing Faithful Mending over Glimpse? I know Glimpse goes deeper, but Seth had several games with an expensive curse stuck in hand. Plus, Mending is good if it's milled, and you also don't mind discarding Resurgent Belief early. The lifegain is helpful for this kind of deck since it needs to go long. It also is castable with Finale to where maybe you can go another 2 cards deeper before the Belief would resolve from the Finale.
@@MTGGoldfish They "have" to go at least -5 with Ugin to get rid of Curse of Misfortune, else you can get Cruel Reality and make them sac and do lots of damage and draw lots of cards. They don't have a reason to go -6 or -7 because it wouldn't destroy anything else, Overwhelming Splendor with MV 7 survives either way. But even then you can play another Curse of Misfortune and get rid of their Ugin next turn and they don't know you have this option. Maybe the rest of their hand is just some Reality Smashers and other non-Ulamog creatures that are quite useless because of Splendor. If you managed to survive a few turns with Curse of Misfortune, you probably would still have a chance. :-)
Seth, you’re an absolute madman for diving so hard into Green. You have Faithful Mending if you stick in Jeskai, Electrodominance isn’t utilized here even though you’re using finale, too. You’re more into 4c for Wayfinder and Commune (and you really only click a card with commune when you don’t have as foretold). This deck is Dope af tho, and close!
A beautifully janky addition to this deck would be Curse of the Bloody Tome. Reanimate it onto yourself as a way to get more Curses into your graveyard.
That's actually a pretty common combination, I know lots of people (including me, according to some) that are described by that. It's just that the cliche evil biker look is just pretty popular among nerdy rock and metal fans.
What a card in that first game. You know, I was looking at non-blue counterspells a while ago (because why not) and I saw that one and I thought to myself “wonder if anyone plays that”
Just looking at the decklist, Curse of Bloodletting is cool and all but I think it would be strictly better to replace it with a second Curse of Thirst. Because in your whole curse payload, the only one that "deals damage" is Curse of Thirst, everything else is loss of life. So if you have Bloodletting and Thirst on the battlefield, it's effectively the same as if you had Thirst x2... but if you have only Bloodletting, you're getting no value from it at all.
Scooping to an archetype that tilts you out instead sticking it through when you *could* win? Based. Nah, I get everybody in the comments getting annoyed about the punts, but I truly empathize with the "seeing red" feeling.
Game 2 against zombies, you should've let the Feed the Swarm resolve. They killed themselves with Feed the Swarm since it would've done 6 damage because of the double damage.
I feel like there's an unfortunate Seth-cle (cycle... I know it's mostly a content creator thing, I cant imagine at all playing the amount of mtg Seth does
Game 1 Against Mono Red LD was painful to watch Belief in the GY, Finale to cast it, the two win condition curses in hand Seth: "Let's sacrifice my discard outlet so i can draw lands to cast my curse instead" If you get confused between old border Basics and Old Border Promos maybe don't use one of them Seth LUL
