My take is this based on my short experience of living here in the philippines for a year and a half. I lived briefly in a smaller province town and currently live in a Baguio, a much larger city in the mountains. I have visited BGC, and for the rent price of a condo in BGC, I am renting a four bedroom furnished house in Baguio for 40K or currently $687.94 usd. It's all about the convenience of living, really. A condo in BGC affords you the luxury of convenient living. Everything is within walking distance, close to major airports and major hospitals. There are trade-offs, so it really depends on what kind of lifestyle you want when you get here.
Filipino palate is very well-debeloped and we love to eat food from other countries, from around the world, aside from our own. This is because of the Filipino diaspora! Happy Holidays!
welcome back, Zane. A subway from QC all the way to the airport will soon pass by BGC, going to the airport or to other parts of the metro will be that easy.
Hey buddy looks like you are loving the life . Your channel is my favorite . I’ve been to the PI many many times . I’m moving there soon and BGC or Eastwood is where I’m looking .
The Variety of all sorts of ethnicity cuisine you can practically get in the Philippines for reasonable price as compared to U.S. You get a piece of paradise for an affordable price. You can easily feel at home too depending on your social connections. Wish you the best in your Philippine expedition
Merry Christmas Zane, as per the Metro, there will be two subway station planned one is by 38th&11 Ave. and at Market, Market. First phase of Metro Manila Subway Project has already started, when it’s completely done it will serve the cities in the north of Metro Manila all the way to airport Terminal 3.
Not too high paying, those banks are mostly just service centers and commercial banking. Very little M&A activity or trading being done from Manila. That is mostly Singapore and Hong Kong.
No wonder Philippines has the highest price increase for high end / luxury condos in the World. Imagine an entire 2 Towers of Season on pre-selling with only few units left.
@@millennialinmanila5621 Right, which is why I won't be moving there. Bangkok and Saigon have similar high-end neighborhoods with affordable local food.
The people have negative views in Bonifacio for me love the idea going there but haven’t got deep pockets 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I am happy there living the luxurious lifestyle because we own a one condo unit there right in the middle 5 minutes walk to Market Markets and Serendra mostly in SM Aura just minutes walk ❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍
In some restaurants they add 5% to 7.5% service charge to your bill. Here in Baguio, I see 5% added at some places, and in BGC, I saw 7.5 added. A lot of restaurants may not add anything, and its up to your discretion on what you tip. Hope that helps!
While it feels like an isolated area in the Philippines, I hope no one thinks it is not possible elsewhere. Ayala, Ortigas, and Cubao offer the same feeling. It's just that they came first before BGC so BGC has the benefit of improving on previous iterations.
I ENJOYED WATCHING YOUR VIDEO. FROM LATE NOON TILL EVENING TIME IS AMAZING. THANKS FOR THE PRICES AND COST OF LIVING IN BGC COMPARED TO SOME OF THE FAMOUS CITIES IN THE WORLD LIKE CITIES IN SINGAPORE, NEW YORK AND LONDON. TRULY BGC IS ONE OF THE BEST CITY IN THE WORLD TO LIVE SPECIALLY FOR FOREIGNERS FROM THE USA. MANY THINGS ARE WITHIN REACH AND CONVENIENT FOR SHOPPING, DINNING AND A PLACE TO HANG AROUND, A BEAUTIFUL, CLEAN, PEACEFUL AND SAFE ENVIRONMENT.
How would you find apartments for long term lease? Do you have to use a real estate agent to find an apartment in BGC? Would like to find something for under $700/month on a 6 months lease in BGC.
gotta love how there's an LFA (only 500 were ever built) casually parked in the Lexus dealership, lol also, random, but, are Singapore and Kuala Lumpur the only other places in SEA that are comparable to BGC in terms of cleanliness? that's the impression I get from most vlogs
Idk man. I grew up in the woods and don’t really like cities that much but realize as a foreigner we have to be in or near a city to be remotely close to happiness. BGC seems like a nice place for someone who grew up in a city or old guys. I would rather see content of under developed cities with less foreigners closer to the beach. Like check out the city for a few days then check out the beaches in the area. That’s what I plan on doing but I will never be a vlogger.
To each their own end of day. It would make sense to do both type of contents of course. For me, realistically, I'd love that life you describe. But working remote and hiding I am abroad, needing stable life and can handle only so much stress, I feel like I personally would've to bare min stay in BGC, so even though it's not my dream location, I end up looking for more content on that. This video helps, there isn't that much quality Ph content, even for bgc, people doing walking tours around ad spots only and such. If anything there are some good island videos.
@ exactly every individual is looking for their own experience. I do not work remotely I have to work for another 10 years Atleast. So likely all cities will be like bgc by the time I retire. Though I plan on spending a month in a more suitable area for me. A month a year until I retire. BGC and Manila in general are not on any lists of mine. Cebu will be just a hub maybe stay one night inbetween flights.
Live in a tower in an Earthquake and Typhoon prone region? No thanks. No low rent place would ever make me do that! 3 minor earthquakes in an around Bonifacio in the last 7 days? And what city calls themselves “Global City”….it’s a bit presumptuous and not needed. And I’m tired of hearing “BGC” already as you’ve said it endlessly. Why didn’t they just call the place “Bonifacio”? Every City on Earth is a Global City. In reality, Bambi’s smaller house is safer than those expensive high rise towers no matter what the engineering or design is in Earthquake prone Phillipines. You did a great Sales pitch for Bonifacio, but I ain’t buying it. Sorry.
There is a lot of love for BGC from people that haven’t been there yet. It’s small, and it’s boring, with overpriced housing compared to other Asian bubbles in more developed countries. The province has a lot more to offer, genuinely Filipino, and more adventurous.
No competition here. We are just happy that the Southeast Asian region is vastly growing and rising together! And I hope you give the same amount of love and respect we have for the Thai people. Peace! 😅
lol as usual someone must uttered bkk as superior than manila... This vlog is about BGC in manila..then these trolls often inserted bkk at the expense of manila. FACT- even the best areas within bkk CANT even RESEMBLE BGC

Just be careful with the foods you ate, though high end taste like world class, high price but unhealthy, that chicken skin will give you a real high blood pressure, lots of bad cholesterol in there. A healthy lifestyle is still the best.

welcome back, Zane. A subway from QC all the way to the airport will soon pass by BGC, going to the airport or to other parts of the metro will be that easy.
There are 18 BGC - like in M.Manila and the best are Ayala Center , Aseana Bay City , Ortigas Center , BGC , and my favorite Alabang .
Isa lang ang bgc
Baka cbd ang ibig mong sBhin

thank you sir for walking us through keep safe and god bless
BGC will get a subway Metro with a stop near Uptown Mall and another one at Market Market connecting it to the airport and all the way to Quezon City.
Wow. Dalawa pala. Ayos.
How many decades from now?

Welcome to the Philippines man! enjoy :)
Merry Christmas, Zane. Thank you for showing such beautiful places.
Merry Christmas Zane🎉🎉🎉🎉🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎊🎊🎉
@29:56 i think BGC is getting a subway train called Manila subway going up to the airport

Everything is walkable clean and community is good/sort of private/yet comfortable than noisy bangkok. Sorry🙏🏼

NO CHRISTMAS LIKE PHILIPPINE CHRISTMAS....NEW YEARS EVE ON A HIGHRISE BUILDING WATCHING FIREWORKS....1 OF A KIND🫡🇵🇭

Research about condo developers first. The Kito Family vlog mentioned their dissatisfaction about the Megaworld condo that they have purchased 😢

Where do you find your room rentals from? Everything that I find in BGC is expencive

I ate the same thing at El Born, yummy. Giwon should be next. The wagyu was great! For a light meal, Mendokoro ramen very good
The trees were called Weirwood trees.

Any sports facilities in BGC? Courts for pickleball, basketball, Ping pong?
God bless you
I agree with you
but what im becoming worry is Phillippines tourism industry is not better this year i wonder what meausres would they fix
My issue with BGC is the restaurant prices. In Thailand and Vietnam, I eat delicious, local, cheap food most of the time. Where is that in BGC?
You wont find cheap prices in BGC. It’s built for the rich. Everything in BGC is costly.

For the Algorithm
If you were to buy to breakeven you would have to rent for approximately $2000 a month while rents go for $800 a month
BGC western style City 💯
Condos are only good for temporary shelter, but buying one is a bad move.

So do you prefer Tokyo or Manila?
any hotel or airbnb suggestion there in BGC? try to impress my American family when we go there in June
Imagine a drinking game were you drank every time Zane said “BGC” you’d be dead
What is the expected tipping percentage at the restaurant you ate at? In Canada it's 25+%
In some restaurants they add 5% to 7.5% service charge to your bill. Here in Baguio, I see 5% added at some places, and in BGC, I saw 7.5 added. A lot of restaurants may not add anything, and its up to your discretion on what you tip. Hope that helps!
Anyone notice the LFA at 3:50
BGC is a bubble. It's clean, modern and safe. Im more impressed with expats who lives in the provinces as they are living in the real phiippines
I’m more impressed with Filipinos who live in BGC. Means that they have done well for themselves
While it feels like an isolated area in the Philippines, I hope no one thinks it is not possible elsewhere. Ayala, Ortigas, and Cubao offer the same feeling. It's just that they came first before BGC so BGC has the benefit of improving on previous iterations.
All of the Philippines is real Philippines. BGC is just part of real Philippines as a developing country.
the real philippines is the country where you see massive development is happening
Why the hate? Did BGC broke your heart or something? So what if it's a bubble? Or do you prefer BGC to be a bubble of squalor? Hmmm??? 🤷

Let's give thanks to whoever the elected mayor of BGC is. He did a good job for making Bonifacio Global City a world class.
Nope. It’s private property.
For the most part, mayors in PH have nothing to do with planning, development and upkeep of CBD’s like BGC.
The only ones flocking to BGC are vloggers looking for monetization of their broadcast. Nobody else really cares.
