The only issue I have is I go through front tires just like he says. I'm on my 2nd set in 30,000 mi. It definitely needs all wheel drive, and /or stiffer suspension to keep those front tires down. Other than that, the car is great. Love the turbo

If you get your tires rotated with every oil change (roughly evrry 5k miles) you wont run into this issue hardly at all, relax on your throttle, if you're slamming your throttle and spinning your tires or blowing it through turns obviously you're going to destroy your tread and need replacement tires. My wife owns a 2025 k5. She gets better gas mileage than advertised but she drives sensible not stopping on the accelerator from stop light to light. We have owned 7 different Kia’s over the years and never had any issues with them but we also take care of them.
Hey, if the K5 makes its way to Australia, count me in for ordering one myself. I understand your concerns, but hear me out. The problem, as you see it, lies in the lack of AWD. But personally, I'm all about FWD. AWD can really wear out your tires faster, which means more money spent replacing them. So, pardon me, but I'm not exactly sold on the gas mileage being a major issue. If you're into a louder exhaust, then maybe the N packages would suit you better. But for me, this is just a family car with a sporty appearance. As for the interior lock, what are you stashing in there? The Kona Nline's wide-open center console is even worse. I reckon if you're not into KIA, that's cool too. But I'm not buying what you're selling, sorry. I've owned a KIA myself and I love it. My 2013 Cerato/Forte has been fantastic. Thanks for your concern, but maybe you need to brush up on your car knowledge, dude. If you're after speed, go for a sports car like a Mustang or a Dodge.
If youre worried about what people think, thats your own problem. These are non issues. Car has incredible options for the price. I cant wait to get another
Smash. At this point in my life I don’t give a dime what people think about me or my stuff. I rented at K5 the plain one and I liked it. I’m considering purchasing the fully loaded version. Looking into the 2025 facelift one.
@mindhunter8772 I keep hearing people say that, but I think you guys are using the wrong terminology, what do you mean by heavy? Is it stiff? Resistant to turning? Please explain so I can accurately judge if it happens to me
Dawg, none of this is even true.... I have the 2024 Kia k5 GT line. Every single thing you spoke about, my kia has. I dont know what year youre talking about. It makes a nice engine sound when revving, gas comsumption is average, it has a valet feature, and it has AWD. Im confused on what kia ur driving but mine is loaded
I've owned most of the major car brands. My first Kia Optima was best running car I ever owned so upgraded to K5. Runs perfect so just purchased wife a Sportage. I don't have the issues I had witih the Chevys, Fords and Dodges.
You are a dolt! Do you own this sports sedan?.I do since 2021. I have had this car for almost 2 years now and it's a wowser. People stop and tell me how beautiful the car looks in parking lots and gas stations including my neighbors and a cop in Toronto. The exhausts make an amazing sound even on normal mode. Again given feedback by onlookers. It's very spacious and comfortable to drive. The car has quality materials all over. The service cost is very low. Looks gorgeous in wolf gray. Yes a 290 hp sports GT is not a car for an uber...the milage in city is 8 kms/ L and on the highway 13km/L with at the Ac on. Had all the bells and whistles plus tech a BMW would have. Beautiful piano black finish. Big boot and great for family trips.its fast on sports and sports plus.. great acceleration. The moon roof is gorgeous and smooth.

I have a 2021 k5 awd gt-line and I love my car. I wouldn’t have bought a Kia 10 years ago but they have come along way. Now they have more features like mine has wireless car play. So I never have to plug a wireless into anything.
Heyyyyy buddy they make them in awd and fwd… the offer awd as low as the gt-line(which is your second trim level not 4th) what are you reviewing this over or comparing to? The k5 was not suppose to be an m5 wtf bruh
No the heck it's not. Toyota, Honda and other cars don't have locks in the interior. You just hate the fact that the K5 is better for price, looks and drivable.
I had the 22 K5 and it is a great vehicle. Good on gas mileage. I did hear tire screech Everytime I made a turn which I taught it was weird. But love the luxurious interior and exterior..all Kia designers come from Audi. I would have kept it but had to give it back as I had to move. I had moved to Kia from Honda
Wow, what major issues. I solved my spinning wheel issues by replacing the tires on my Optima Hybrid with some Ultra High Performance All Season tires. Car has @270 tqs and I drive it in Sport mode most of the times. Then I lowered it for better handling. The “issues” mentioned are nothing major. Most KIA vehicles seem to come with tires that balances sporty feel with fuel economy. While Pirelli makes good tires, they are all not high performance tires.
1. FWD really isnt that bad and I never have issues with wheel spin ubless I'm purposely trying to. 2. Other people being misinformed about a brand isn't my problem 3. Idk how that driver is driving, but mine was within 1mpg of the advetised amount in bith city and highway 4. I can hear my exhaust perfectly fine, it's quieter sure, but still has a prominent deep rumble that actually sounds pretty nice. Just wont be hearing it from 20 feet away like a $100,000 car 5. There is literally a feature called valet mode that lets you lock the infotainment system so this is straight up false information
Bro your Dad never taught you anything about being a mechanic. Kia K5 GT Line is the easiest Car besides a Chevy to work on period. The most simple system built today. The parts are as cheap as Chevy and just as dependable unless you drive and have knowledge of Mechanical work like this guy ☝️☝️☝️☝️
I liked the care it was good on gas we rented the car with 500 miles we put 2100 miles on the car we didn’t fill up again for 6 days we drove from Philly to California and I will say we filled up five maybe six that’s excellent. We did not have any problems with the vehicle. We got almost 500 miles on one tank I think it was 495
What a terrible review. All of these "problems" are based on subjective treatment and preference of the driver. "If you want a status symbol, don't get a kia. Other people don't think highly of the brand. That's a problem" lol
They started renting these on Zipcar. This car is a lot more powerful than ppl expect and when I rented mine it showed. There’s no reason a 2000 mile old car has a smashed passenger door and shakes at 60 mph, but the reason? I live in the NYC area where a lot of ppl don’t own cars and aren’t used to driving. Put them in a turbocharged FWD vehicle with 260hp of course they finna crash
I can confirm, used Zipcar to rent a '22 K5 LXS a few times because I wanted to try the vehicle for myself. And oh my goodness, even with the base 1.6L turbo engine that provides 180 horsepower... it is incredible how much power potential it has. It's so easy and effortless to go fast in it that you almost don't even notice it until you look at your speedometer. That must be a reason why it's the highest priced Zipcar, second to the small/medium SUVs they've got. I guess people rent them enough in my area, because they've currently got FOUR of them in my market, and it's not a huge market by means of car availability. It used to be two, then there were three after an interesting story. But that wasn't it - they apparently just now decided to add a FOURTH one to replace a '22 Malibu that was racking up the miles quickly (it had almost 40k miles when I drove it a week or two before it got replaced). I have not yet driven the one that just got here, but I have intention to do so if my budgeting allows. Luckily all of the K5 models I had driven seem to be intact at the time, but man do people push their luck with trying to abuse the heck out of them. Being a Kia lover, I kinda feel bad for the cars. They seem to get driven pretty far too. One of them had 4,500 miles put on it in a month - and they never reset the trip odometer so I got some interesting stats from that month's renters: they got 30.7 MPG over that time/distance, and had the car on for 137 hours 21 minutes that entire period. Another one a few months back had 650 extra miles on it in a week, and by that time, that one smelled awful enough I almost cancelled the trip, someone had clearly done drugs in it and I could not bear the smell. It's wild what people do with them and how far they go.
tires last depending on how you drive and how long you drive and how many times you drive you wear off the tires tires are wearing tires I put on my tires and my tires last two years
It's the same on tires. No matter if its rear wheel or front. Here's way. When you're front bold. Put you're rear on you're front & front on you're rear. Then it's the same. Get new tires after they're bold too.
I have the Sonata Nline and have had zero problems with the tiress. In fact, zero problems with anything during 2.5 years of ownership. This is not a sports car. This is an every day inexpensive family sedan appliance with a bit more additonal power similiar to if you bought a dishwasher with a touch more cleaning power. If you are flooring it constantly, trying to drag race everyone in sight then of course, you are going to wear the front tires out. It was not designed to do that It was designed to get you from point A to point B while alloting just enough power to merge onto the highway without being run down by a tractor trailer Nothing more and nothing less. No one buy an everyday car appliance to race. It is like bringing a stick to a gun fight. If this is what is important to you then you got the wrong car. In terms of name recognition, this car is purchased by working middle class people to do every day tasks like grocery shopping and taking the kids to school and commuting to work and back. Upper-middle class and wealthier people who want a performace car wont purchase a K5 GT DCT. You are correct on that front. They can afford a true sports car but vechiles that offer the performace you are seeking are typically starting at prices that are at least $30K+ more than a K5GT so true performance and name recognition comes at a greater cost and signifant upgrades that eliminate wheel spin and minimze tire wear. In a nutshell you can buy a microwave and expect it to cook filet mignon. It just won't work and you end up disappointed.
Nah hes not wrong its not a prestigous brand but i have a list of cars ive beaten in the awd k5.. just saying.. its not a slouch car stock. About to go from a 24 k5 awd to a 25 k5 awd. Its worth the money and the features. Holds its value.
Just got my Toyota Camry 2 days ago. I had a 2019 kia forte s before that( returned it in 2021 before I went to Korea). Note that I’m back stateside I wanted the k5 AWD, but I was afraid someone would attempt to steal or damage it. So I went with Toyota because it seemed like a better investment. So far I really miss the interior of my kia. The Camry steering wheel feels a bit cheap. And I don’t like how far I have to press the gas pedal. On my Kia I’d get just about 400 miles per fill and I only refilled her 1x every 3 weeks if that… But I will definitely learn to love my Camry since I paid so much for it 😅

@@ابوعوف_الملكgt line is no different than the LXS and the EX in terms of performance, however the GT is.
Do you still own it?
I got a 2025 k5 gt and I love the car so much. Best car I ever had. Amazing car. I can't say enough nice things about it.
I bought a k5 GT and I love it. No regrets. But I do wish it had AWD .
Does the steering wheel feel heavy when you drive?
@@mindhunter8772nly when you drive on sports+ it’s hard but very accurate and it’s light when you change the drive mode Back to normal
@@mindhunter8772 no it doesn’t when it’s on the regular drive mode
@mindhunter8772 I keep hearing people say that, but I think you guys are using the wrong terminology, what do you mean by heavy? Is it stiff? Resistant to turning? Please explain so I can accurately judge if it happens to me
@@killerbee792 actually yes you can call it stiff not hard but believe it or not it’s actually cool because you’ll need to use your both hands
Had one for over a year now would buy another one!
Delete this bro
Great. I’m a buy one on Wednesday with awd. Appreciate you
You make me want to buy one now!! The Kia 5 is an awesome car! Do over your review bro!
I have a 2021 K5 And I am Absolutely Tickled with mine ....... Driving up to the Mountains of NC I get around 40mpg up and down the mountain ............... My Next car , Is going to be another K5 ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, PS Its NOT a GT line its a EX ....... Love it !!!!
The only issue I have is that LITERLLY every other country (even Canada, RIGHT ABOVE US) except the US gets a digital dash
You just convinced me to get one🙌🙌
Be prestigious 2:20 lol comparing 30k price to brands like Lexus 😂
I have a 2021 k5 awd gt-line and I love my car. I wouldn’t have bought a Kia 10 years ago but they have come along way. Now they have more features like mine has wireless car play. So I never have to plug a wireless into anything.
Heyyyyy buddy they make them in awd and fwd… the offer awd as low as the gt-line(which is your second trim level not 4th) what are you reviewing this over or comparing to? The k5 was not suppose to be an m5 wtf bruh
Also the car you reviewed is the gt-line not the GT (actually GT2)
No the heck it's not. Toyota, Honda and other cars don't have locks in the interior. You just hate the fact that the K5 is better for price, looks and drivable.
Lmao you sure about that? Because almost every car I know, their glove compartments have locks… You must be new to cars. You idiot clown 🤡
2. Other people being misinformed about a brand isn't my problem
3. Idk how that driver is driving, but mine was within 1mpg of the advetised amount in bith city and highway
4. I can hear my exhaust perfectly fine, it's quieter sure, but still has a prominent deep rumble that actually sounds pretty nice. Just wont be hearing it from 20 feet away like a $100,000 car
Has the Salesman duped you into thinking you're buying a Mustang or something?
I liked the care it was good on gas we rented the car with 500 miles we put 2100 miles on the car we didn’t fill up again for 6 days we drove from Philly to California and I will say we filled up five maybe six that’s excellent. We did not have any problems with the vehicle. We got almost 500 miles on one tank I think it was 495
What a terrible review. All of these "problems" are based on subjective treatment and preference of the driver. "If you want a status symbol, don't get a kia. Other people don't think highly of the brand. That's a problem" lol
Who really locks the center console
It's wild what people do with them and how far they go.
tires last depending on how you drive and how long you drive and how many times you drive you wear off the tires tires are wearing tires I put on my tires and my tires last two years
Who gave this guy a camera?
A lot of features??😮
105,000 mi, no issues... I changed the oil every 4,000 me though so I don't know
It would be better video if you make a voice over video and show us the car.
The k5 does come with an AWD option.
OK Hotshot ! Well deserve nitpicking award LOL
I have 2022 Kia k5 Gt, I love my car with all my heart ❤️
There is an all-wheel-drive model
Not for the GT, only the GT-Line comes in AWD
Change your driver mode so you dont have worry about tires spinning.
"Sound is a big thing for you..." as his mic sounds like it's from an old tape recorder playing the verse to raise the dead from Evil Dead. 🤣
If snob appeal is what you want - you would not be looking at KIAs.
Nah hes not wrong its not a prestigous brand but i have a list of cars ive beaten in the awd k5.. just saying.. its not a slouch car stock. About to go from a 24 k5 awd to a 25 k5 awd. Its worth the money and the features. Holds its value.
my experience with gas mileage is that the car far exceeds the sticker rating
He keeps it in sport mode and tries to drive it like a hellcat , dude just doesn't know what he's talking about
Just got my Toyota Camry 2 days ago.
On my Kia I’d get just about 400 miles per fill and I only refilled her 1x every 3 weeks if that…
But I will definitely learn to love my Camry since I paid so much for it 😅
They're not stealing K5s they're equipped with an immobilizer
@@truthkl attempt is the keyword, lol.
It’s still a target and not worth the risk.
I’m used to my car now and am starting to like it
These issues are only going to apply to the GT. I have the EX with the1.6 turbo and its been great
Does the EX only come in the 1.6 or can you go bigger? I really want the EX for the space gray exterior. 1.6 sounds kinda weak though. Can we upgrade?
@@ra2186every k5 except the GT has the 1.6 4 cylinder turbocharged engine. And the bigger engine is 2.5 4 cyl Turbocharged but yeah it’s only with the GT not gt line if you plan on getting one
You should take the time to drive a car and get to know it before you buy it and if these are the features you don't like you should not have bought a Kia K5 the rest of us think this is a pretty good car for the money and overall it shoots far above its price point
I’ve had my 23’ GT Line with 28,000 miles and I’ve never had an issue with the car. 😂
Same
Same
I have the 2022 gt and no problems what so ever none this car is amazing and it’s all wheel drive and the tires you need money got this car ya gotta stop thinking that you get a nice car you won’t have to continue to pay the price I’m sorry to tell you but you’ll always pay more money for a can especially when you have 200 dollar plus tires you pay for what you have if you can’t afford it then don’t get it this car is amazing
If you have a GT, it doesn't have AWD.
@@johnfranklin5277 ok
ITS cousin the Hyundai Sonata also spins its front tires.
I just debadged my whit ppl don’t know what it is and they respect it but once you tell them it’s a Kia they either respect it or are wowed that Kia stepped up their game
An illogical opinion.. It is better to give your opinion about TATA cars only
he complains about no awd but didnt buy the awd model- skip the gt or get the legacy sport
So you wanted a Luxury AWD sport car with great MPG for the price of a K5. Got it. 👍
This dude is wack! I bought a 2023 GT and I love it. Yes I wish it had awd but for the price and features this car is a superstar.
How’s the shifting with the DCT. I’m debating on buying one of these, for the price point for a brand new car it’s very appealing. I drove manual my whole life, this would be my first auto. Plus it’s slower than my current car.
@@zMurderification The DTC shifts fast and lightning fast down shifts with the paddles. With peak torque coming in at only 1600 rpm with 1/2 throttle it puts you in your seat.
