- Today, thanks to South Dade Kia, I was able to review the 2025 Kia K5 GT-Line!
The K5 has now gained improvements to the front and rear with new LED headlights with a striking DRL design. The rear has also gained a new taillight design that looks really good especially at night.
Powertrain wise, the GT-Line gets rid of the dreaded 1.6T. That engine was paired with an outdated 7 Speed DCT that felt jerky. The facelift uses a new 2.5L NA 4 Cylinder that makes 191 HP and 181 LB-FT of torque. All that is link d to an 8 Speed automatic and can be equipped with AWD but come standard with FWD.
Huge thanks to South Dade Kia! Make sure to ask for Angel V!

Got mine last week and I love it. Drove 4 and a half hours to get it and the same back home. The lane assist definitely helped.
Congratulations on your purchase!! I hope you enjoy It!
same here. but I only had to drive an hour north of Houston I love it
I drive a mercedes c300 2015. Once it is paid off, I will get a 2025 model Kia K5 for the next car. I feel like it is underrated because everyone would choose a Camry or Honda, which is what I mostly see on the road. Thanks for the video 👍🔥
Very nice! I hope you enjoy it when you get it. It is an underrated model but it’s come a long way. The Accord just doesn’t surprise me when I see it. Thank you for the comment
Hyundai and Kia are the new Toyota and Honda. You get a lot for just under 35k. Honda and Toyota are not worth damn near 50k.
Agreed! Imagine how cheap the new K4 GT-Line will be!
You won’t be sorry. It’s a great car…
Just pick up the 25 K5 GT with the GT1 package can't go wrong trust me
I HAVE A 2021 KIA STINGER GTLINE ALL WHEEL DRIVE GREAT IN THE SNOW MY LEASE WILL BE UP IN MAY 2025 IT HAS 26,995 MILES ON STILL IN GOOD CONDITION THIS CAR WAS ABOUT 40 THOUSAND
Just got mine a few weeks ago! I like it a lot so far. Huge leap in tech from my 2016 Mazda 6. Best looking in the class too I think. Just wish I could change the gauge clusters but they're fine. I also notice that the Safety Convenience settings don't save! They all turn back on everytime you turn the car off and on.
Just got mine here in Austin yest. Trying to still figure the tech out. Including the lane centering which I shut off but likes to keep turning on anyways haha. Good walk thru video, though. I didnt get the premium package. Dont need a sunroof its too hot here. Coming off a 19 forte launch edition in orange you can feel the difference
I got a 2025 K5 GT with the GT1 package in Wolf Gray with the black interior on June 8th. My birthday is June 9th so it was a great present for me…
Congratulations and happy belated birthday!! I hope you enjoying it thus far.
@@soflojoshautoreview I am! It’s a great car. I almost got a 2024 but I’m really glad that I waited for the 2025. Kia did it right with all of the improvements…
mine was a birthday gift as well congrats
@@lifethroughmyeyes8662 Congrats to you too…
Would you happen to know if there's a way to change the rear turn signals to orange? I know other countries get orange turn signals
The previous K5 did not have the 1.6t dual clutch to my knowledge. Other Kia's had the 7 speed dual clutch which by the way continues in the 2024 Elantra N line
That was a mistake on my end. I’m not sure why Hyundai kept the 1.6t with the 7 Speed after so many people complained about it. Happy to see Kia on the other hand didn’t do that to the K4 GT-Line.
no rear air vents was a huge miss... but many other things make up for it
I agree 100%! Rear vents are a must.
It's funny because the rear air vents are included in the K5 EX top trim, Kia should've made it an option on all trims🙄
That dual clutch is only in the GT
Very nice car like it
It’s a very nice car
The Kia K5 never came with a 7 speed DCT with the 1.6T. Only the GT got a DCT.
That was a mistake on my end. Wish I corrected it before uploading.
The 7 speed dct is only in the GT. Regular k5 had an 8 speed torque converted
The GT has an 8 Speed DCT. The pre facelift GT-Line had the 7 Speed DCT connected to the 1.6T
@@soflojoshautoreview The GT has an 8 speed dct yes, the regular had a torque converted 8 speed. Please check kia's website.
I know it does. But you had stated that the GT model had the 7 Speed Auto. In the video I discussed about how the facelift GT-Line gets ride of the horrible 7 Speed DCT. I did mention that it had the 8 Speed Auto with the NA 2.5T.
@@soflojoshautoreview Okay, so the GT since it came out it has the 8 speed DCT.
Every other trim even before the 2025 refresh has and had an 8 speed regular automatic.
No, incorrect. Only the GT has the dual clutch. My 2021 Gt line has 8 speed automatic. @@soflojoshautoreview
I have reliability concerns with both. But, would you go with a ‘24 Honda Accord Ex 1.5t or a 2025 KiA K5 GT Line?
K5 for sure. The 1.5T is not a reliable engine. Also this feels more fun and sporty to drive than that vehicle especially given it has a CVT.
He don't know about Hyundai/Kia DCT.
No ambient lighting?
NO
The premium package has it, but the GT1 is the best option for the GT line
No. But you can always buy scented candles at Bath & Body.
I like Kia's but i hate they are so easy to steal
That can only be done with vehicles that have an actual key for the ignition. These can’t be stolen
no sunroof? pass
It comes with the Premium Package
