While there is nuance in how to actually strike the ball, the main reason beginners struggle to hit backhands is 100% because they don’t understand their contact point and they don’t know how to set up the timing with the lower body. The wrist is definitely important but that explains how to hit the ball only, not how to set up everything before. Does that make sense?
