Hello! Thanks for sharing your thoughts about this. I appreciate your gentle, thoughtful style so much. Hopefully once the game comes out and we can play it you’ll do a video on your experience! I’m so delighted that we finally have a playable Zelda. The game could commit oh so many sins and still be forgiven just for that.
I love there being a “correct way” to solve puzzles, but with flexible enough mechanics for other solutions to be possible! I love BotW and TotK the most, but I do think their lacking dungeons was a huge missed opportunity. I hope there are dungeons in this one! Having a 2D Zelda be purely open world with no dungeons sounds nuts. Like, I don’t think that would translate well haha. I figure there will be dungeons in this! Here’s hoping! Loved the video btw!!
Not many people are fans of this art. It reminds me of when wind water came out. I was fumming, but now I think It looks super cute, and I can't wait to buy merchandise, I want Link and Zelda keyring or plushies in this art style 😂😂😂.
@thecreepythecozy8891 yes it does! Now I am whatever, I just want to play but then I wanted to burn nintendo to the ground 😂😂😂😂. The fandom has been on fire since the nintendo direct. But now they are moving from "i don't like the art style" to "where it is placed in the zelda chronology?"😅
There's real value and a sense of satisfaction in having a single-solution puzzle...but it can also feel dated, and often frustrating. I felt like BotW and TotK were so approachable, but I also think there were certain parts that felt less fun because of how much you could nerf it. Moving foward, I just hope for a happy medium! I think what's beautiful about the Zelda franchise, is how much the new games are built upon what previous games offered.
If this game has dungeons and the dungeon "items" are unique things you can echo then is might be a top 5 favorite Zelda game for me. I love the open air puzzle solving concept, but I need a bit more limitations from TotK and BotW. I hope this game can deliver on that front
I really hope dungeons return. 2D Zeldas have some of the toughest dungeons out there that really force you to think, and that has always been my favorite part of those games!
I'm confident that doing away with dungeons isn't Nintendos plan at all. I think they're just trying to figure something out that isn't the same old thing that we've seen time and time again. I think the feeling that the devine beasts didn't feel like dungeons wasn't completely intentional and they proved that for me with the dungeons of TotK
The two things I'm worried about are: The world in that establishing shot looks almost exactly like the one from link to the past and between worlds which would be ANOTHER reused world And the selection menu is just a long line like the attach menu in totk which could get really frustrating if there is loads of echoes in the game.
I don't think this will be a big problem. We have the rifts that we can go into, and the overworld itself has changes. Death mountain is in a new spot, we have a botw-like faron region, a coastline, gerudo town and the gerudo desert, and probably more
I genuinely believe it'll be a 2d Totk. If there are dungeons they will all be the "make your own soultion" style puzzles, Aonuma is the king of the new way is the only way.
@thecreepythecozy8891 I cite Majora 3d as the start of it, I hope I'm wrong, I don't think open solution puzzle solving has the same staying power as the tightly designed bursts of heavy gameplay traditional zelda puzzles do.
I've seen a theory that the Nightmare from Link's Awakening followed Link home and set a trap for him, using Zelda as bait. Because the Trident that Ganon was using is double-ended, much like the one the Nightmare used in Link's Awakening. Maybe it's just a reused asset but it gets me thinking, like what if the void spaces that are consuming Hyrule is what captured the Wind Fish?
algorithm. i hope the zonai or even the twili have more than just the design-nod in this game
Durr I don’t even think of the Twili. That would be amazing.

Thanks so much! Agreed, playable Zelda alone makes me love it already
In Smash, Zelda is the one tormenting people with crystals.
🤣

Yes, pretty much exactly this!
Thanks so much! The cave on the lake definitely had me thinking there might be dungeons. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

It does feel like Wind Waker all over again, based on how people are reacting

The interesting/ funny thing about the Gerudo, is that they were originally foe’s.
It's true, and yet I have always loved them. Gerudo Fortress might be my favorite part of OOT.
Glad I'm not the only one stoked to see a hole in a wall in a lake. It just tickles some particular neurons.
Haha yes! Core memory activated.

Here’s hoping this game is a step in that direction 🤞🏻

I can’t wait to find out, here’s hoping

Me too, they’re like gigantic escape rooms
🎉

I hope you’re right. They can do it, I believe in them

Yeah that menu navigation did not look promising. I wish they’d find a better way to do it better than TOTK.

He does sound pretty staunch about it. You may be right…we’ll find out soon.

What TotK should have been 😵💫
💯
I hope they bring back hidden koroks
Their little laughs....

Oh man that would be wild. I love this theory.
I hope Gorons appear.
Heck yeah
