Arm rest on either side of the sofa would help hold pillows in place. Competition has it. Would like a space between closets and nightstand. I have a 2019, I like the upgrades
We have the 2020 Freedom Express 192RBS Ultralite and would definitely recommend it. There are several changes in the 2021 and they are terrific. I prefer the 2020 version over the older models because of the window in the front. It’s super nice to hit the “on” button on the coffee pot in the morning then sit in bed, drink coffee and watch the sun come up and the birds start their day. It is a great camper so go for it. Great review Josh.
Love the enclosed belly material, black tank flush, and outside shower on this smaller trailer. The finish under that walk-around full queen is impressive. I was expecting to see unfinished plywood. The only thing missing is a factory-installed privacy curtain (just in case a guest or child is sleeping on the couch). This is a lighter, shorter option to my favorite floor plan, Jayco's 212QB.
I have this exact one. Love it. The only concerns that I have are that some of the cabinet doors keep coming loose, the RV is very loud and the mattress was horrible. Other than that, it is absolutely wonderful. The dinofa is perfect for us. Tows great. I tow with my 2013 Volkswagen Toureg (towing capacity 7700lbs) SUV. We have had it for 7 months and no leaks, no tire problems, no breakdowns. I'm wider than Josh and fit comfortably on the porcelain toilet. The shower works fine. Excellent indoor storage. I don't know how to set up the solar and understand it is solar-ready, and have to figure it out. Glad I listened to Josh on this one. It is a lovely first RV. The little door on the back is in case you need access to the fridge- you don't need to pull the fridge out. The bumper- I can't store the Rino sewer hose in it. It is too small. That would be the one thing I would change.
nice camper, solar is a must, here in the south need the bigger ac. has plenty of storage. it would be nice to have a hitch on the rear for a basket or to haul stuff. but it works as is. looks great too.
In small spaces, everything needs to be dual purpose. With that in mind, the pantry should have removable shelf and bar so it can be a closet as well. Raise the trash can and put shoe storage underneath. The dressers could be seating and have a table on struts to raise up for desk/work space.
I should've mentioned -- those dressers are SUPER sturdy. You could easily leave the bed "up" during the day & sit on the bases. Bring a little cushion to pop out and BAM! Add a small floating table and BAM! ..or just use the table they give you
Awesome choice, Bruce! Mind leaving a quick review in return for our efforts at www.haylettautoandrv.com/review-us/ when you get the chance? Also -- hope to see you stick around our channel here. Actual owner feedback is always the best.
Another great recommendation Josh. 570 amps of solar and bigger inverter plus a separate hookup for portable panel. I like this interior design very much.
So much to love about this one. Storage, that utinsil drawer around the sink, and especially the bed! May sound crazy, but I'd put the bed up if guests came and use the bottom area for seating, possibly adding decorative cushions for height. So many possibilities!
That sofa looks comfy. I love those drawers under the bed. I like the phone station. I love the utensil drawer. I like the sink. I like the table that can be moved or put away. I love the storage space in bathroom. It is very nice.
Another excellent video, and an excellent little unit. Huge pluses: Low height- I could car port it, the outward under bed drawers are a huge improvement. I could see having travel duffel stored in the middle, and not having to move it to open drawers. Solar prep- huge plus. Looking at it I think I could fit (3) 150’s- and not having to pay for, remove, and patch roof holes to take off a small panel…. Minuses: 110v TV, but no inverter, no 12v socket for a TV or to plug in a small inverter. Most of all, I’ve seen a 12v compressor fridge drain a 100 ah/hr battery in less than a day. Naturally they can do better if it doesn’t get super hot and you don’t open the door… but…. If there isn’t a 3 way gas option, it would totally deal breaker this excellent unit. Even if Coachmen only provided warranty approved locations (where there’s no internal structure) to install a roof and wall vent, and the dealer could give me some allowance to trade in the existing compressor job…. If I were in the market for this type unit I’d probably take it. So many more pluses. On this rig. Personal preference wise, I prefer a BBQ to the griddle, and I prefer to use a Coleman folding table over a wall bracket to keep the heat, smell, any spatter a bit away from the rig. Final nit-picky: I have a Freedom Express prior to them having battery disconnect. Appreciate that they added one, but I used a marine grade load switchable circuit breaker. Probably 1 in a million, but if anything ever chaffed thru, kicked through the belly, or whatever and that battery cable shorted out…. No short circuit protection all the way from battery to power distribution box…
Nice couples floor plan. Wish that it had ducted AC for lower noise. Also I think that 13.5 air conditioner would work better when mooch docking on 20 amp service. Maybe the bigger AC is needed with that big front window though.
I forgive you! LOL This is a nice little unit. The 2-step stable steps outside are SOOO cute! It has a lot of neat features. I love all the storage, love having the larger refrigerator in it, the taller ceilings, love the kitchen and bathroom counter space and the dedicated storage in the bathroom. Everything looks really nice and bright inside, the spot-light reading lamps are really cool as is the under bed storage (I really like that the drawers pull out towards the walls; it’s makes the storage so much more practical and everyday usable). I like that it’s a laminate shell keeping it looking sharp and lite weight. I love the front look with the large window-like-look on it. The underbelly material is A-1 in my books. The only things I’d want to have in it is more space around the toilet, theatre seating, and a king bed. Obviously, however, the trailer would likely need to be a little larger for 2 of these 3 things just mentioned. If it could, it would make it a contender for me if I didn’t care that it isn’t full-time warranted and 0-100 degree tested. But, overall, it IS a really nice TT, ticks most of the boxes.
Everything i thought that the jayco was missing, this 1 has it, I really like this one, only thing I could have is the little tables like the jayco has, and the griddle but I give it a 10/10.
Josh, this is the size of our 19' hybrid. The thing we don't like about ours is that with the ends open it really noisy. This would be a fitting replacement.
Nice looking...but ditch the oven for more storage, add a convection microwave. Love the lighter woodwork color. Would be nice if the bathroom door, couch and slide trim were also lighter color. 12v fridge negates ability to boondock. Very close, but not there.
Very nice TT. Love the size, color and decor. I do wish they would have put a reclining sofa in there instead. I have seen the sofas that have recliners built-in that you can still use as a bed. I’m on the fence about trading in my motorhome for a travel trailer and this one has me thinking.
That type of sofa requires a floor-flush slide which this RV doesn't have. I think you'll like what Rockwood is doing here th-cam.com/video/qVIxivd3eEA/w-d-xo.html or Cougar is doing here th-cam.com/video/tvAJPSTXZS8/w-d-xo.html
Agreed. I get criticized by reps from other MFG's for the way I gush about Freedoms. They all build great stuff, but there's something about the combination of features on these I just love
Great review - bought mine last October, it’s in storage right now (Ontario, Canada); last frost 1 May and will be on the road shortly thereafter. Won’t be visiting US until vaccinated and border opens, but Canada is plenty big.
Awesome weekender consumer grade camper. Its got a LOT going for it. Love the A through frame construction vs A under frame. That's what allowed the spare to be under the front and the whole rig to be a bit higher. One thing I would change, I would find a way to extend the rock guard down over the front of the frame to hold off the rusting process. It could be a as simple as some stylized ABS replaceable plastic guards. The trailer does not appear to really need anything else.
You scared me for a minute. I thought the utensil drawer was gone 🤣. This is my favorite small camper. Like the under bed drawers👍 Miss the Coleman grill that used to slide out of the side of the camper 😢
LOL -- NEVER!! They even put the drawer in models that don't have room for it under the sink. They always put it SOMEWHERE The slide out grill was cool, but I like being able to swap the grill setup around a bit.
Love this size. Have the sofa slide in our 2006 jayco have had no problems with it It will ade about 18 to 20 inches of walking space so two people can pass also like he said you dont have to put it out to get to any thing. Definitely a contender for a new one
Give us a shout whenever you're ready Meanwhile we have thousands of videos for you to review and compare with hundreds more coming over the next few months with everything we have coming in!
That bed setup and storage is nice. Kitchen setup is solid. Couch/theater seating/auxiliary sleeping area's a great use of space, especially with that table. Much better than the antiquated dinette(and probably lot more comfortable too). The upgraded AC is generally a good idea in theory, even on a small unit. The more efficiently it can call the unit, the less it has to do and the more extreme temperatures the trailer can handle. If those shower doors slide(which pretty sure they do), opening them up should make the toilet space feel more roomy. All in all I like it. If could change something, I might would consider dropping the slide part to get weight and cost down a bit, since it's more of a luxury than a necessity in that floor plan. Also, you're forgiven for the bad joke
I had to read that twice. It's late (after 11pm here -- I'm trying to keep up during a busy season) and I thought that said "Ketchup is solid" LOL The shower doors do slide open from the middle, but the bathroom does not FEEL as cramped as it looks (as you can see from the photo of me on the toilet -- hope those are helpful btw!)
Very impressive small unit. My wife and I are looking for something that will service our needs for wildlife photography trips, that could be from 2 days to maybe a few weeks at a time. Your videos give us so much information that we truly appreciate.
@@alanscott4384 Expensive hobby! I almost hate to ask -- how's MY camera work on these? Lol I'm not 100% happy with the camera I'm using right now, but it's serving its purpose I suppose
@@JoshtheRVNerd You do a great job. The amount of information we get from your videos is invaluable. Do you think you may do one on a Cougar 22MLS? You are not joking when you say it is a serious hobby 😀😀😀
I really like this. 2 changes I would like. Reclining seats in the slide out and Lighted fireplace. Also one more thing. A Murphey bed, would be great.
This smaller style of slide isn't compatible with theater seating, but a *slightly* larger camper can get you what you're seeking there. Like this one th-cam.com/video/tvAJPSTXZS8/w-d-xo.html or this one th-cam.com/video/qVIxivd3eEA/w-d-xo.html
I love just about everything with this model, I just wish it didn't have the front window. Here in Florida that's like waking up under a frenzel lense. I wish I could be ordered without that window or at least they could include some sort of cover for it so you don't wake up in a pool of sweat. The only other thing that I would love to see on this is a rear cargo rack.
I have the 2020 model and they changed some stuff for the better and for the worse. What happened to the cabinet below the stove? Great for cleaning supplies. Also the swing on the pantry cabinet doors flipped as well as the bathroom door swing???? Think that’s a mistake. Wish I had the 12v fridge and the below bed setup and the outdoor kitchen. One big thing is they need to add 1 foot of length to the camper to give a bit more room in the bathroom and walk around room on the tc side of the bed. Like 6” in each spot. Also make it a bit better insulated so it would be a true 4 season. I use my as my home away from home for work purposes and would really like it if it did better in cold weather. Great video! Really enjoy watching you channel and wish I was closer to you all so when I want to go up to a bigger camper I could buy from y’all.
I've actually been offering some similar suggestions & hope they make a "Big Brother" version of this complete with theater seat rather than the little sofa in their "Liberty" series
The problem with placement of the spare tire under the tongue is that you cannot install the L-brackets for an Equalizer sway control/weight distribution hitch with the tire mounted there. On my 204RD I had to remove the tire and store it in the pass-through storage. The other problem with the tire mounted there is that it messes up the tongue weight. It forces you to tow with either a 3/4 ton or a half ton with a max tow package. Anything less won't cut it. I really wish the spare tire was mounted on the rear bumper. But on my 204RD it would block access to the rear storage compartment. So, I keep it in the pass-through storage.
Interesting. That challenge may vary based on the hitching system used. We use mostly Recurve or Centerline TS hitches. I suspect those haven't been problematic. I would have to estimate those don't fight with the tire for space But I also readily acknowledge what you're saying in how it could be a challenge as well as the fact I am not in parts and service myself & may not have good visibility of something like that
Josh, Why didn't they put a curtain between the bed and the kitchen area on the Coachman Freedom Express 192RBS. They REALLY need to do that. Other than that, it is a perfect size and function camper for my 1/2 ton Ram 1500.
I wish more MFGs actually provided more in-depth specs. Even as dealers we don't have a sizing chart. I have to rely on my team to get measurements for interested clients as needed
Coachmen is knocking it out of the park with these new Freedom Express Ultralite Trailers. Any chance you will be getting a 238BHS model soon and doing a review?
Really like this one. Think the Rockwood 2109S has more features such as the solar/inverter and wifi ranger when you option the 12V fridge. Haven't compared prices so they are possibly neck and neck.
@ 16:41 you show the back of the trailer and there's a door is that a access door for the back of the refrigerator or a extra storage compartment ? , I love how they did the under the bed storage , and if I remember right the movie Mad Max was to take place in the year 2021 something to look forward to 😊
I LIKE !! Even though it has a slide. However, the slide is shallow and I would think much easier to work with if there’s a problem. You’re going to have me flying for a visit yet. LOL
Love the layout, especially under the bed! Only change I would make is exchanging the flattop for a two burner unit. Been looking at a larger (22-24) unit. If we didnt have the big dog, this would fit the bill!
This bad boy th-cam.com/video/EXyz6HRUeEY/w-d-xo.html Cougar was one of the first to do it. Theirs actually has an even larger "Garage" area as seen here th-cam.com/video/_aMTwm0Wk-A/w-d-xo.html
Josh, I too imagined a Mad Max future. ⛓️Great reference, my husband and I rewound that about 4 times. 🤣🤣 Also LOVE this trailer. Going in our RV wishlist!
Awesome trailer, I own a 2020. So many improvements over mine, love the bed/dresser idea, shower is better than mine, no outside grill on mine either. What an improvement with the entry steps. The only thing mine has that I didn't see was the infamous Coachman Clock
@@JoshtheRVNerd Oh no, I've watched dozens of your videos. You do a fantastic job. You are probably the most detailed and informed TH-cam RV guy out there.
I would surely need to remember to check that 'FIDO' is not resting on that bed before I gave it a lift. My 2018 Freedom Express did not even have lift struts for the bed. So YES the new bed arrangement is a nice upgrade.
I have watched your videos for quite a while and I just noticed that you have not hit 100,000 subscribers you should be half 1 million subscribers keep up the good work
Hit the share button and it'll happen sooner :) We have great viewers. I don't really hawk my sub count. The phones keep ringing here and we continue to be successful. That's enough for me. I'm no Jake Paul or anything lol
@@JoshtheRVNerd LOL, its not the quality of subscribers, its the quality. Kind of a niche market to begin with, people looking for RVs, plus those wanting to learn what to look for and what is out so they are informed when and if they buy. And of course, those who just enjoy the way you present the information. I would highly recommend anyone considering a RV check out these videos, then when the time comes to buy to actually visit Haylett. There are some shady dealers out there, pick your dealer first, hopefully Haylett, then pick your RV.
@@kenp9469 Nice! So you really identified the layout you like. Now it's just a matter of which version of it! That's good -- that means you're really finding the features you prefer Sometimes I'll hear people say things like "We either want a bunkhouse travel trailer or a rear kitchen fifth wheel" and I Immediately think "oh no... they haven't yet figured out what it is they REALLY want"
This makes me want to trade in my 2020 192RBS for the 2021 model. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE my trailer, but I really like do like the new under-bed storage arrangement. ( Move the sofa forward in the slide and there's enough room to store the dining table, and sink covers, behind the sofa.)
While we aren't going to stop you or anything I would say give it a few years and see what other enhancements they make so you can really make the update worth your while!
Josh, thanks for sharing! You always tour some of the most functional rigs and we're grateful for that. Tid bit of focus that I like see in future videos is the battery options. You do a great job covering the solar prep, packages etc, but limited discussion of how we're going to harness that heavenly goodness. 🙂
There’s definitely more people looking for solar in for now, but the vast majority of people are still good with a single battery we provide them at no extra charge and they purchase from Haylett RV. We have a full parts and service team that can help with those sorts of things individually. I have so much to cover that it’s hard to expand the information I provided sometimes that makes any sense
Josh, just to ask the question: on the 12V DC Refrigerators, do you need a 110 V AC inverter for at the campsites if you have electric service (30 amp)? Do the trailers come with this already installed?
Me too. For real I'm supposed to be all sorts of impartial and whatnot... but I think Freedom Express is one of the best executed laminated RVs out there right now
It's funny.. MOST people don't use ovens But those same people get weird about buying an RV without one So.. MFGs include ovens most of the time just to avoid an objection from a possible buyer
That’s is almost the perfect travel trailer for me and 2 dogs to full time RV in. Wish it had frameless windows. Awning have wind sensor? I know the ladder is tall and I get people say it adds a foot as a safety concern when I worked in the fire service we always if possible raised a ladder 3 rungs above a roof. Safer stepping on and getting down. Josh you should measure that and check number or rungs. Maybe we can tell from the video. I understand that this ladder is not being used as a fire service ladder but it is still safer. Tall yes, ugly yes. It should have a max airflow fan! I know can add one but hey we have a tall ladder so add the max airflow fan. It would be nice with some factory roof solar. Other than that it’s perfect! Not asking to be contacted I know you guys are at don’t want a phone but ballpark price as seen in video?
Frameless windows have waned in popularity as folks realized they get less airflow (but man they look good). Rockwood is still doing them however. Take a look at this one for instance th-cam.com/video/qVIxivd3eEA/w-d-xo.html Wind Sensors aren't something usually found in most of the towable market. Only rarely do you even find an RV with a wind sensor PREPPED awning Fan upgrades are easy for us to accomplish btw! :) I'm catching up right now. Several days behind. Getting out all the info I can as fast as I can. I'll get pricing on our site as soon as possible. If you don't want to wait a day or two, then you're welcome to give our team a quick ring at 800-256-5196. It's cool if you're not buying right now. We don't mind meeting folks :)
In years past it fit under the bed inside the RV. With their revised storage you'll likely transport it either in the front pass-thru area or another easy option is to just slide it under the mattress real quick before heading out
Great video have watched it numerous times. Be our first trailer. Can a 2” hitch be added to carry bikes? Can jacks be lowered using a cordless drill? This is the trailer for us we will be in touch when we’re ready. Outdoor speaker hookups?
There are no factory hitching options, but those Jack-it tongue mounts are a good option easily applied to trailers like this. Manual jacks like these are cordless-drill friendly (just need the little adapter which we have on the shelves here) Outside speakers standard on these. I'd probably still bring a little portable bluetooth speaker so I could keep the volume down and closer to me vs. the neighbors
OMG..... Absolutely love this one! My husband and I are looking forward to getting out there as soon as we can. Is this something that you can recommend for full timers?
Rockwood tried that actually and despite having done murphy beds longer than everyone else the camper really didn't prove that popular That being said... I almost feel like that flip up storage IS a murphy bed. You could easily utilize that space during the day in a variety of ways
Thanks for showing it with the slide in, it's a critical decision factor when you're looking for a unit that can go Walmart 'boondocking' or take a break at a rest stop where they don't like your slide put out. Also, the battery rack looked like it could accommodate 3 batteries since the support angles were on top of the A frame. Would it?
I really love this level of trim and features, although I think I’d prefer a dinette slide and a large single sink. Definitely one to keep my eye on as it evolves!
My 2022 4Runner has a 5,000# tow rating. People say that doesn’t mean I should tow up to 5,000# camper. What’s your guidance on this? I like this camper! Thanks. 🙏
So if you're towing 5,000lbs with that, then you're considered "Safe" legally. Being "Safe" and being "comfortable" aren't always the same thing. What you don't want to do is find a trailer that weighs 5,000lbs because you're going to be overdoing it once you put cargo in it You want to try to find a trailer whose maximum weight after cargo (GVWR) is 5,000lbs or less. The further under that number you are the happier and more comfortable you'd be As a general guideline I advise folks to try to keep the dry weight of the RV you're seeking no more than 80% of your maximum capacity (and even less where possible). This will usually give you the buffer you need but remember this is just a quick guideline. Towing figures should always be examined individually
I would recommend to the manufacturer that they nix the wastebasket and move the door closer to the sink. With the fridge sticking out like it does and the wastebasket there, entering and exiting would be tight.
I know it looks tight there, but there's really nothing in your way when you're actually navigating the RV. A few folks have mentioned killing that waste basket before as well. Other suggestions have included a folding counter extension
It changed around 2020 models. The 192 and 204 lacked the feature for a while (I think maybe the 246 as well but not sure). They've since made some revisions to be heated across the board.
Josh: Another excellent vidéo. Like everything except the slideout. Additional room doesn't justify justify the additional weight. Drawers under the bed are a very nice touch as are the cabinets in the head. Would swap a Winnabago 1706 for this in New York minute, but for the slideout. Love the fact that the shower has its own water supply and isn't hose from the sink. LED light in the bassement and under the awaning is a bonus. Questions, Is there a separate light at or over the entry door? Are the wheelwells protected by a metalguard? Respectfully WS
They don't have a separate light above the entry on THIS one, but they do on some others (usually larger models). Freedom does not use a metal wheel well liner like some of the Jaycos
Does the heater work without shore power (meaning enough power for running the fan motor on the heater - I realize it runs on propane). What do you recommend for adding batteries so we can run 120v plugs without shore power? Thanks!!
Running the household plugs w/o shore power will require adding and wiring in an inverter. Inverting the "whole house" can be quite a project. One or two specific outlets is less of an install. Regarding batteries -- it's such a loaded question that really depends on how you camp and what you plan to do with those outlets.
I need to order 5 more flapper-doodle 9,000's, please!! 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡 Thank you for your help with my day! I'm recovering from a surgery and still need another one but thankfully you help snap me out of my crappy existence just long enough to forget about the pain for a minute and laugh. Thank you so much for being you!!❤❤❤
I like it ! I always wondered why they use the smallest space in the bathroom for the toilet? Or even angle it towards the shower? Lol I know this is a 💩 conversation but I think the toilet is the most item in a restroom other than the sink so it should take preference! Lol great job Josh!
Great review Josh! You mentioned that this unit has a heated enclosed underbelly, but I have seen conflicting information that said the 192RBS does not have a heated underbelly. Can you confirm that the 2021 192RBS does in fact have the heated underbelly? Thanks!
All of them have since the late 20 season. The 192 and 204 were the only models lacking a forced air heated belly. Coachmen has since updated them. I wouldn't be surprised if their web assets are behind on this though. Nearly no MFG's sites are current right now.
Arm rest on either side of the sofa would help hold pillows in place. Competition has it. Would like a space between closets and nightstand. I have a 2019, I like the upgrades
Ty Paul!
The backup light is prepped for an RV!!
Love the feedback from an actual owner! TY!!
That under bed storage should be the new norm for all trailers.
Most RVs seem traditional in their design and finish. This... This is CLASSIC. A really timeless look inside.
I *really* liked the previous generation of freedom expresses. But when they went to this I was like "okay yeah.. we're on the next level now"
@@JoshtheRVNerd I hope the price hasn't gone to the next level.
I wish Freedom Express would build that 212QB in their basic "Select" series
I know it would sell...
I meant to say the ac is loud, not the rv. Lol
Lift that bed. Slide in a free standing table, a couple cushions. And BAM! got a kitchen table for 2.
Exactly!
or a card table I can flip when my wife slam like 3 "draw 4" cards on me at the same time
@@JoshtheRVNerd those drawer boxes would need to be able to hold weight over time to use it like this, but I think Okie has a good idea‼️
nice camper, solar is a must, here in the south need the bigger ac. has plenty of storage. it would be nice to have a hitch on the rear for a basket or to haul stuff. but it works as is. looks great too.
That under bed storage is the single best feature of this 192RBS. I wish my '21 20SE had this under bed storage.
I know! They *nailed* it with that design!
In small spaces, everything needs to be dual purpose. With that in mind, the pantry should have removable shelf and bar so it can be a closet as well. Raise the trash can and put shoe storage underneath. The dressers could be seating and have a table on struts to raise up for desk/work space.
Love these ideas
You are great, love the details you point out, and your corny humor! I want this RV! Too bad we’re in NC!😔
CORNY?!
...okay. That's fair lol
We just found one in Florida!
For a small ultralite trailer this one rocks it! Only change I would make is add the solar, and change the ownership.
She's roof solar ready and we have the folks to assist you both with the install AND the swap of ownership lol
Your humor keeps me coming back!
............ plus the RV's of course 😉
Thanks for another video!
My wife says my humor keeps driving her to drink so... careful I guess?? lol
The option of a Murphy bed would be nice for those wanting more seating.
I should've mentioned -- those dressers are SUPER sturdy. You could easily leave the bed "up" during the day & sit on the bases. Bring a little cushion to pop out and BAM!
Add a small floating table and BAM!
..or just use the table they give you
I was so impressed with the information on this camper I bought one.
That's something I didn't mention -- that bed base is SUPER sturdy. You can absolutely sit on it.
That sofa looks comfy. I love those drawers under the bed. I like the phone station. I love the utensil drawer. I like the sink. I like the table that can be moved or put away. I love the storage space in bathroom. It is very nice.
Thanks so much for sharing!!
Yeah these are definitely intended more as family park camping units and would need some extra stuff to get untethered or extended times
Nice couples floor plan. Wish that it had ducted AC for lower noise. Also I think that 13.5 air conditioner would work better when mooch docking on 20 amp service. Maybe the bigger AC is needed with that big front window though.
Cute little camper. That drawer underneath the sink is nice.
LOVE that drawer
Again, love the window at the front of trailer!!!!
The "LOOK" of it is so stellar
I forgive you! LOL
This is a nice little unit.
The space around the toilet really wasn't bad! I Know it doesn't look good -- but they have it all angled just right
Everything i thought that the jayco was missing, this 1 has it, I really like this one, only thing I could have is the little tables like the jayco has, and the griddle but I give it a 10/10.
You'll hear me gush about Freedom Expresses all the time. I think they're an incredibly well done and often under-appreciated brand
Josh, this is the size of our 19' hybrid. The thing we don't like about ours is that with the ends open it really noisy. This would be a fitting replacement.
Here's a look at the updated version. Interior looks a LOT differently! th-cam.com/video/5BJxJfv_lDo/w-d-xo.html
Great 2 person camper an has all the right stuff an useable
Nice looking...but ditch the oven for more storage, add a convection microwave. Love the lighter woodwork color. Would be nice if the bathroom door, couch and slide trim were also lighter color. 12v fridge negates ability to boondock. Very close, but not there.
I wish I could option out ovens. They’re forced pretty much everywhere
@@JoshtheRVNerd We ordered a Winnebago 2108DS...still not perfect, but should work well.
Loved “Currency of the Apocalypse”!
We LOVE this one and LOVE the under bed storage!!! Frozen milk...Capt. Crunch...We forgive you Josh!!!
What a missed opportunity
I absolutely love the way those freedom express trailers look!!! Awesome trailer also, it’s got everything u need and nothing u don’t!!!!
Agreed. I get criticized by reps from other MFG's for the way I gush about Freedoms. They all build great stuff, but there's something about the combination of features on these I just love
@@JoshtheRVNerd I couldn’t agree with u more!!!
We have an older model. 2011 Freedom Express, it has been a great trailer.
Like the under bed storage layout. Love big refrigerator. The odd angled toilet placement would be a deal breaker for me.
I like that stone guard idea. Jay Flight does something similar
They always put it SOMEWHERE
The slide out grill was cool, but I like being able to swap the grill setup around a bit.
Love this size. Have the sofa slide in our 2006 jayco have had no problems with it It will ade about 18 to 20 inches of walking space so two people can pass also like he said you dont have to put it out to get to any thing. Definitely a contender for a new one
Give us a shout whenever you're ready
Meanwhile we have thousands of videos for you to review and compare with hundreds more coming over the next few months with everything we have coming in!
Dexter axles and a victron package! Other than that, great!
I'm sure those could be upfit!
I would also put a small dog bed under bed in that gap for smaller dogs who like to hide lol 🥰
It's late (after 11pm here -- I'm trying to keep up during a busy season) and I thought that said "Ketchup is solid" LOL
The shower doors do slide open from the middle, but the bathroom does not FEEL as cramped as it looks (as you can see from the photo of me on the toilet -- hope those are helpful btw!)
Really nice storage! I love it!
Thx for watching Donna! :)
I had to think on this and watch it again before I decided. I really appreciate the drawers the way they did it.
It's *such* a good model. I could be pleased as punch in one of these
Very impressive small unit. My wife and I are looking for something that will service our needs for wildlife photography trips, that could be from 2 days to maybe a few weeks at a time. Your videos give us so much information that we truly appreciate.

I'd actually like that on these. It would fit nicely into Freedom's Wheelhouse as well
I have the 2020 model and they changed some stuff for the better and for the worse.
16:55 I like that good sized hatch to access the fridge components for easier maintenance if needed w/o having to pull the whole thing out❕😉 👍🏽
Absolutely
I would have to estimate those don't fight with the tire for space
But I also readily acknowledge what you're saying in how it could be a challenge as well as the fact I am not in parts and service myself & may not have good visibility of something like that
Josh,
Why didn't they put a curtain between the bed and the kitchen area on the Coachman Freedom Express 192RBS. They REALLY need to do that. Other than that, it is a perfect size and function camper for my 1/2 ton Ram 1500.
Love the videos. I would like to hear how long the couches are and if they can truly be used as an adult bed.
I wish more MFGs actually provided more in-depth specs. Even as dealers we don't have a sizing chart. I have to rely on my team to get measurements for interested clients as needed
@@JoshtheRVNerd Time for you to start lying down in them and showing us if they are useful!
Coachmen is knocking it out of the park with these new Freedom Express Ultralite Trailers. Any chance you will be getting a 238BHS model soon and doing a review?
Yep! I think this month actually
I would love it if it had a Murphy bed. But, hate to lose the wonderful big window.
Rockwood has a little larger model coming out soon that I think you'd like. Kinda like this one all sorts of juiced up
Really like this one. Think the Rockwood 2109S has more features such as the solar/inverter and wifi ranger when you option the 12V fridge. Haven't compared prices so they are possibly neck and neck.
They’re neck and neck on pricing as well. It’s really a matter of which one’s 3-5 unique qualities do you prefer between the two?
@@JoshtheRVNerd I'd have to go with the Rockwood because of the factory installed solar/inverter/wifi router.
@ 16:41 you show the back of the trailer and there's a door is that a access door for the back of the refrigerator or a extra storage compartment ? , I love how they did the under the bed storage , and if I remember right the movie Mad Max was to take place in the year 2021 something to look forward to 😊
First of all TY for that time marker. MAN it helps!
That's an access panel to the fridge for service needs.
I LIKE !! Even though it has a slide. However, the slide is shallow and I would think much easier to work with if there’s a problem.

Love the layout, especially under the bed! Only change I would make is exchanging the flattop for a two burner unit. Been looking at a larger (22-24) unit. If we didnt have the big dog, this would fit the bill!

I'll trade you three... no FOUR! Four rolls of fluffy white TP for this beauty
Awesome trailer, I own a 2020. So many improvements over mine, love the bed/dresser idea, shower is better than mine, no outside grill on mine either. What an improvement with the entry steps. The only thing mine has that I didn't see was the infamous Coachman Clock
Those clocks had some kind of magic on them man. People went nuts over those things

Sometimes I'll hear people say things like "We either want a bunkhouse travel trailer or a rear kitchen fifth wheel" and I Immediately think "oh no... they haven't yet figured out what it is they REALLY want"
You said it and I agree, the slide really isn't necessary, so why have it. Save a little more weight, eliminate a possible future problem.
Makes me wonder if a version of this in their SE series wouldn’t work
This makes me want to trade in my 2020 192RBS for the 2021 model.
You don't need to do anything. It works off battery power or if you plug into a park. Camper already has everything it needs! :)
Really like this one alot. Just wish it had a porcelian toilet
Typically we can swap a toilet out here for you
We'll see ya'll saturday!
OMG...Josh, I am in love with this camper.
Me too. For real
I'm supposed to be all sorts of impartial and whatnot... but I think Freedom Express is one of the best executed laminated RVs out there right now
love this travel trailer except for the oven. Are ovens that popular? We're going with air fryers these days.
It's funny.. MOST people don't use ovens
But those same people get weird about buying an RV without one
So..
Take a look at this one for instance th-cam.com/video/qVIxivd3eEA/w-d-xo.html
Wind Sensors aren't something usually found in most of the towable market. Only rarely do you even find an RV with a wind sensor PREPPED awning
Fan upgrades are easy for us to accomplish btw! :)

Great choice! Wait until our 2022 footage goes live soon!
The outside picnic table is stored in the pass through storage, but where is the "dinofa" table stored Josh?
In years past it fit under the bed inside the RV. With their revised storage you'll likely transport it either in the front pass-thru area or another easy option is to just slide it under the mattress real quick before heading out
@@JoshtheRVNerd Thanks
Great video have watched it numerous times. Be our first trailer. Can a 2” hitch be added to carry bikes? Can jacks be lowered using a cordless drill? This is the trailer for us we will be in touch when we’re ready. Outdoor speaker hookups?
There are no factory hitching options, but those Jack-it tongue mounts are a good option easily applied to trailers like this.
Manual jacks like these are cordless-drill friendly (just need the little adapter which we have on the shelves here)
Outside speakers standard on these. I'd probably still bring a little portable bluetooth speaker so I could keep the volume down and closer to me vs. the neighbors
OMG..... Absolutely love this one! My husband and I are looking forward to getting out there as soon as we can. Is this something that you can recommend for full timers?
Provided the space/storage fit you, then you can full time RV in about anything you choose. It's built to last.
Would love that model with a Murphy Bed
Rockwood tried that actually and despite having done murphy beds longer than everyone else the camper really didn't prove that popular
That being said... I almost feel like that flip up storage IS a murphy bed. You could easily utilize that space during the day in a variety of ways
Dah da darada dadarada da da daaaaa! 🎺 It's the Uuu-tensil drawer!
It's UN-DER SINK DRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWER
Thanks for showing it with the slide in, it's a critical decision factor when you're looking for a unit that can go Walmart 'boondocking' or take a break at a rest stop where they don't like your slide put out.
Also, the battery rack looked like it could accommodate 3 batteries since the support angles were on top of the A frame. Would it?
I believe the tongue could fit 2 batteries, but 3 would require something extra

Rockwood's Version is also fantastic th-cam.com/video/lcAvSAJT98c/w-d-xo.html
My 2022 4Runner has a 5,000# tow rating. People say that doesn’t mean I should tow up to 5,000# camper. What’s your guidance on this? I like this camper! Thanks. 🙏
So if you're towing 5,000lbs with that, then you're considered "Safe" legally.
Being "Safe" and being "comfortable" aren't always the same thing.
What you don't want to do is find a trailer that weighs 5,000lbs because you're going to be overdoing it once you put cargo in it
You want to try to find a trailer whose maximum weight after cargo (GVWR) is 5,000lbs or less. The further under that number you are the happier and more comfortable you'd be
As a general guideline I advise folks to try to keep the dry weight of the RV you're seeking no more than 80% of your maximum capacity (and even less where possible).
I have a 2018 192RBS and the underbelly is not heated. Only ducted models had heated underbellies. Has this changed for 2021?
It changed around 2020 models. The 192 and 204 lacked the feature for a while (I think maybe the 246 as well but not sure). They've since made some revisions to be heated across the board.
Where can I replacement led bulbs on each side of the front big bay window?

Nice video. We have the Freedom Express 292bh and we love it. We just did our second camp trip with it. We'll upload our video of it soon.
That's such a great model!
Respectfully
WS
They don't have a separate light above the entry on THIS one, but they do on some others (usually larger models). Freedom does not use a metal wheel well liner like some of the Jaycos
Very very nice
wonder how much tongue weight the spare tire adds ?
We need to have 3 cats inside, so this works for the litter box!
Does the heater work without shore power (meaning enough power for running the fan motor on the heater - I realize it runs on propane). What do you recommend for adding batteries so we can run 120v plugs without shore power? Thanks!!
Yeah RV furnace fans are 12v powered off the battery
Running the household plugs w/o shore power will require adding and wiring in an inverter. Inverting the "whole house" can be quite a project. One or two specific outlets is less of an install.
Regarding batteries -- it's such a loaded question that really depends on how you camp and what you plan to do with those outlets.
Josh, what's the little compartment door on the back wall of this model, just to the left of the ladder?
Service access for the back of the 12 V fridge

That bathroom LOOKS super tight, but it really is "just right" in size even for a bigger fella like me. I was surprisingly comfortable there
What's wrong with the slide? Why doesn't the sofa sit flush with the walls? Wouldn't you want to maximize floor space?
Great review Josh! You mentioned that this unit has a heated enclosed underbelly, but I have seen conflicting information that said the 192RBS does not have a heated underbelly. Can you confirm that the 2021 192RBS does in fact have the heated underbelly? Thanks!
All of them have since the late 20 season.
The 192 and 204 were the only models lacking a forced air heated belly. Coachmen has since updated them. I wouldn't be surprised if their web assets are behind on this though. Nearly no MFG's sites are current right now.
